The unit owns the mission but they have an assault team that went into that area with them. The assault team was well kitted.

There are many factors used in selecting soldiers into a arm of the army after six months of basic training (Nigeria army depot).

Examples is starting from day one of recuites training, those with high performance in range classification and other marksmanship may be eventually selected into a type of special force etc.

Information you also supplied about yourselves and your knowledge about something may also land you into any arm of the army. For example you are from a riverine area like the Niger delta, you might eventually land in the amphibious arm of the army(i.e isaac boro) Another example is if you've learnt a trade(i.e mechanic, welder e.t.c) before joining the army you might eventually end up in the engineering, armour or logistic e.t.c arm of the army or military .

There are many yards stick but I av just sighted the basic ones used for recruitment. Hope I did answer your question .
