It depends on ur location. If u're at Abuja 4 example, u can get the vaccines and yellow card at either the airport or ministry of health.

I'm in Lagos.

I'm going for a conference and practically all necessary documents are ready and I want to visit the application centre on Tuesday for biometric. I was thinking if I should do medicals before going for biometrics

How to get a yellow fever card in Lagos

One of the requirements for traveling within Africa is the possession of a yellow card which I obtained today. The yellow card is issued at where they call Port Health, adjacent MMA Access Plaza along International Airport Road

You’d be asked for the following at the entrance to the building.

Photocopy of your passport bio data page.
Two passport photographs

N1,000

I had my original passport with me but I wasn’t asked for it. They didn’t even collect the two passport photographs from me at the clinic. Strange.

I walked in and out of excitement, I said, “I want yellow fever.” The nurse in charge said, “Yellow Fever or Yellow Card.”

Then she passed me a book to register my name.

“Where are you going?” She asked while I wrote my name.

“I am going abroad.”

“I know it’s abroad madam. Which country?”

“Zanzibar”

“I said which country?”

“Oh…I’m sorry. Tanzania.”
She shook her head and walked away. They gave me a drop of one bitter drug before administering the vaccination on my arm. Boy, the most painful injection I have ever had in my adult life. I became humble. All my yanga ended there. I didn’t even have the strength to carry my handbag again. The pain felt like I was stabbed.
My facial musclés were struggling to fight back tears and two of their staff said, “Ah. Ejor. No cry oh”,
Two minutes later, my card was ready for collection. The nurse asked for my travel date and I told her JUNE 15th. She said she is sure I am already counting down daily. If only she knew I have been counting the hours.

The entire process took no more than fifteen minutes and I left with my handbag wedged on my left arm since my right arm was still numb.

PS: I am writing this because I couldn’t find any tangible information on the internet when I searched for one.

However, the location for obtaining the vaccination and issuing the Yellow Fever card has changed. The location is Ministry of Health, Port Health Office, beside the Toll Gate. If you are coming from Mafoluku Oshodi axis, turn right into the toll gate. The building is immediately after the toll gate. You should see the sign post.

The procedure is also very simple and straightforward. You will need a photocopy of your Passport Biodata page and N1000. You have to go in person as proxy processing is not permitted.
1. Enter your name, Passport Number and Telephone Number in the Register provided.
2. Submit the photocopy of your Passport biodata page and N1000 to the receiving Nurses.
3. Wait on the queue for inoculation.
4. Get inoculated.
5. Collect your Yellow Card.

As expected, there are touts around the premises waiting for gullible people to fleece. Don't fall victim. The process is simple and easy. It takes less than 5 minutes.

Is it the one adjacent to Caleb and beside Federal Road safety Emergency?

Before you turn to 7up, is it that one opposite CMD road?

You are going for conference, why are you here

Most of the people here are going for study visa in a university or college.

Why cant you go to Australia Immigration website and read the requirements for your visa.

They even have a checklist for you to determine all the requirements for your visa class when you input all your info.

For the IOM, why cant you input IOM Lagos into google and you will get their website and download the requirements.

Yes you can study those courses in australia so far you have minimum of 2.2 and i think @haliru that just got his grant is studying similar course for his msc.

Meanwhile, by going to google to search list of all universities in australia, you can get the website of all the schools and by checking you you will get info about their courses and fees.

Tuition fees in australia is high and ranges from 24,000 AUD and above per year. Most schools will require you to deposit half of that amount before they issue you document (COE) needed for visa.

Yes your uncle can sponsor and if you read this current part 3, you can get lots of tips.

Yes you can work while you study.

There's no dedicated thread for people on Australian visit apart from those of you trying to school there.

I don't intend to school but go there, spend 5 days and return back to my family. Wetin I wan read again? I'm an old man na.

Yes, I'm fully prepared as regards documentations and also know where to go. Just want contributions and sharing of experience with others

That's why I asked for input.

Now you'll understand if I knew all, I wouldn't have asked question.

Let other people respond.

FYI, those going for this conference were advise directly from AU to get yellow card.

So who should we believe? grin

Yellow card is different from medical examination.

Yellow card is compulsory for all short and long stay visas while medical is not needed for short stay visa unless they contact you to provide maybe due to old age or something.

Medical examination is what you do at IOM and the yellow card is what you get at the federal health facility close the lagos airport.

You were going for conference and you were mentioning medicals at IOM. Thats the reason why i mentioned you should check their website for the business visitor visa checklist

You missed the first part.

I'm going for biometrics and I asked if I should get the yellow card first before going or after Visa grant, one can get it.

My passport has been disvirgined by UK, Japan, UAE and schengen prior to now
