A whole lay down rules by Catholics was boycotted to appoint the said bishop...which we know the appointed bishop politically made himself relevant to the pope to be appointed and the people are not happy about it.

But the press make it look like its just a tribal thing to give bad name to the peoples demand... I think some people in the know need to apologize to the people and explain why things were done the other way than allowing this issue to escalate.
U lack sense. Former Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Anthony Gbuji is from Delta State, yet he became bishop of Catholic Diocese of Enugu and nobody rejected him. Cardinal Onaiyekan is not from Abuja, but he is an archbishop there. What of Hassan Kukah, who is from Kaduna State but he is bishop of Sokoto Diocese. Even Cardinal Okojie is from Edo State, but he became archbishop of Lagos. Bringing tribalism into d church is bad. That's why i pray dat Biafra will never be actualized, cos we Igbos hate one anoda.

It's expedient from now on maybe for the church to place a special scrutiny on mbaise sons who want to go into priesthood. These people have rebellion in their DNA. After the governor speech, hear what that priest still said: 'All we want is a priest groomed from the land to be our bishop'. Mumu talk. Must they remain catholic? If I were to be the Pope, I will recall opakleke and send an arab man in his place. These rebellion people must learn obedience by force or they quit the church and start their pentecostal movement where they call the shot. I will ensure they don't have an indigenous bishop for the next 100years. Rebellion in the church must be quashed with olugbongbo from heaven. Mbaise people can't use their way to reform the church, it is the church that must reform them. Stiff-necked people!

I noticed Okorocha is one of the few Igbo men who is above tribal sentiment and emotion among Igbo's, may because he did not grow up in the east because I noticed Igbo that grew up in other parts of Nigeria does not harbour much hate and sentiment like others that grew up in the east.
U have spoken well though we have lovely liberal Igbo people in the east who are not bristled with tribalism unlike the overloaf pathetic IPOB buffoons

That is the church for you today. Nobody submits to the will of God again.

Politics, bad politics has crept into the church of God. Favoritism, nepotism, ethnic bigotry are now the order of the day.

Nobody tells God " where you lead, I will follow " again. Its now about power , influence and money ". Sad, very sad.

Just look at the number of church cases in the court today. And what did Jesus say about court cases?

Imagine a politician now advising clerics on the right thing to do.
True Talk.

These people needs the Church of Biafra. They can't coexist with other people because they are too proud of themselves. Pls free this guys joor, they are too small to fool around the whole world. All the same, we still have some sensible people out there, just so unfortunate they have to be involved in all this shits. A politician preaching to ordained priests .....Comedy of Error, when a blind man leads the way.

The pre-requisite for belonging to an organization is your willingness to abide by the rules and regulations guiding such organization. Ahiara people should stop this shameful game and obey the pope unless they are no longer interested in belonging to the Catholic church administered from Rome. There is nothing wrong with having The Ahiara Catholic Church of Nigeria. They should push for independent Ahiara Catholic Pontiac.

Mechionu nwokem you like spitting nonsense all the time. Okoro has no option than to say what he has just told the useless people that are kicking against Pope's instructions. Even a fool would have said the same thing.

Imagine the so called priests protesting over things of GOD. What's the reason for their protest if it is not for their demonic selfish interest.

This is one of the reasons to prove that Mbaise people as a whole are worse than the devil itself.

Bishop Okpalaeke is their Bishop whether they like it or not. They should go and form their own church if they are still bitter.
Nwokem Check your brain very well it is not correct

Something must be very wrong with some people in this country. Northern Nigeria, south west and south east need special deliverance. They keep parasiting Niger-delta in everything even religion!!! They wont allow non indegenes be priests even within the same state! But almost 99% of catholic priests in Edo state where I live and other Niger delta states are south easterners but they keep saying they are marginalised. We need true federalism!!!

I don't think you're a Catholic. What do you know about the laid down rules in appointing a new Bishop? The pop has spoken and that is final.

He was approved and appointed by the Pope...politics or not.
If they can't simply obey the Pope based on mere sentiments, then they are not Catholics.
Catholics believe the Pope to be infallible been the representative of Christ on earth.
Therefore, directly disobeying the Pope is indirectly disobeying Christ whom he represents...and they don't seem to know the consequences of that.
Even so called priests are championin
g this shameful cause.
It will blow up in their faces.
Nobody challenges the dictates of God directly or indirectly...unless they don't really believe the Pope to be God's representative after all...which makes them non-Catholics.
