lytech1:as long aa oil keeps flowing in nigeria ,this nation wont breakup. But the heating up of the polity is due to the fact that the dullard ia most certainly unlikely to continue effectively and from now till 2019 ,the nation will be enmeshed in one political drama to the other. In the next 3months ,work on 2018 budget will have to start ,that is where ppl will see real political fireworks and chair throwing all over the nation I wont be surprised if the military takes over soon |

I think we now have two parties in Nigeria, the Presidency as the ruling party and Senate as the opposition party. |

What a country? We continue to hunt down every Badoo cult member, setting them ablaze but allow all the members of the worst cult group called NASS. They'll continue with their shameless attitudes, looting and funny videos until we decide to stop them like Badoo. |

Its really unfortunate how ignorant the average youth can be especially when it comes to serious national discuss.... We get too emotional and triblistic over issues... Have any of us taking our time to study the under lying issues here, have checked the limits of executive powers in a democracy... These arms of government have independent powers as enshrined in the constitution.. If Senate confirmation is not relevant then the executive should not brother forwarding name to them.. You cannot Choose a part of the constitution to obey and the one not to obey.. Every provision of the constitution is for needed synergy between the arms of government. The executive has flouted these provision for too long including bold disobedience of court orders, lies and out right deceit. If we the youth of this country still rely on these politicians for information on governance then we will never get it right in this country. Let our hatred or love for one politician over another not rob us of our sense of unbiased analysis of issues. God bless us 1 Like |

all I see here on NL is the collective foolishness of Nigerians. The legislators claim to be checking the excesses of the Executive, who then is checking the excesses of the legislators? We the electorate are the ones saddled with that responsibility and We're failing! How should we check the legislators? Is it by posting useless comments on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram that carry no weight whatsoever? or is it by shouting "Saraki olè" on the streets of Illorin? No! It is by using your democratic right to recall whoever it is that is misbehaving in the Senate or House of Reps. Once these people realise that they are truly accountable to US, they won't dare do what we don't want. Simple! |

dadexcel:Rubbish! Osinbajo was speaking from a legal perspective when he said the EFCC act that allows the National Assembly screen appointees to the EFCC chair is subservient to the section 171 of the constitution that allows the President appoint, without recourse to the NA, anyone to the board of Federal agencies. Every known constitutional lawyer in this country has sided with the Acting President on this. Every first year student of Law should even know this. Instead of the Senate to do the proper thing and seek final confirmation from the Supreme court in order to set the Precident for future cases, they are trying to Blacmail the Acting President because most of them are under EFCC investigation. And you are here spewing rubbish in their support. Shame on you. 2 Likes 1 Share |

His assets declaration saga, his manipulation of his nomination as senate President, and the stacking of money in secret foreign accounts purportedly by his wife(unearthed by Magu) and other accusations against his person cannot make Saraki's senate confirm Magu. It's like committing suicide. He is swimming against the tide. He is an apostle of corruption but I don't think he needs all the wealth he has been stacking at the expense of the people he profess to serve. |
