Stick to your Computer Engineering.. After all what you studied in school doesnt really count but what you make of yourself that matters.

I also studied Computer Science in OOU and believe me bro, I didn't see a single Computer throughout my years in the Uni. I managed to come out with 2:2.
But now I am an expert in the area of networking with relevant certifications to back my experience.
So bro, learn to develop yourself outside your Major and you will see the sky won't be the limit in your success.
I wish u well " omo osu" grin

Zuck never finished and he learnt Programming from his Engineer dad as a kid, Bezos didnt study Comp Sci, he studied Electrical Eng and CS, the twin brother of CPE which is the equivalent of Electronics Eng.
You went on from saying CE is a little to CS to those who studied CS and are doing great... Who said its what they learnt in School that gets them where they are? Do we have any of their equivalent in Nigeria? Atleast right now? How many CS graduates do we have? We are comparing both courses, not their alumnus

Zuck's dad was a dentist.

Back then we were taught FORTRAN
I have talked much on this issue outside Nairaland,Computer Engineering Technology is ahead of Computer science and ICT.
even now artificial intelligence has been added

With my own view computer engr is the best even in Oou that you are lecturers in your dept are good in programming
Currently there is a guy in 300l he is in to programming u can get more from him

Am also an engineering student in Oou

To me, I will suggest u go 4 Computer Science, Though I also studied compt. Sci. From Delta State Poly. My reasons are these:
### Compt. Engr, focuses mainly on the hardware structure of the computer systems and networking,
### while Computer science encompasses all, though with the basic intro of all courses, you can decide 2 focus on a particular course (Professional studies). Like the Computer science of a thing, it encompasses more than 10 (ten) professional courses of its own such as Programming(web development, software etc.
I guess it may help...

I'd advised you go with computer engineering, it encompasses computer science

Computer Engineering is the thing. You're still in the early stages there. When you get to finals, you'd look back and laugh off CS. With CE, in programminf you are going to do C, Java, Assembly, C++ and overall Software Development and Engineering. With CS, its Pascal, Q basic, Java and some C++ maybe. You can always pick whatever yo wanna learn later on. I'm a 400L CE student and can compete with both Electrical/Electronics Eng and CS. CE is a combo of great overlaps of both and the things that matters and bridges it together. You can always learn what you want in IT.... I do Web/Mobile Applications development and Software Dev better than most CS students I've met.
and for me computer science is the best shocked

Guy I dont want you to make a mistake in your life. You can be anything you want to be with computer engineering.which level are you?Let me tell you my story.
I am in the university of Buea in Cameroon, studying CE.3rd year.I visited a classmate who's very good at programming.Ranked 2nd in Cameroon on GitHub,i learned from him that you can do anything you want to do.You don't need to wait for the lecturer. This year, our school had 11 representatives for Google summer of code.Even non engineering students are mentored by senior students to partipate.
You want to program, then program on your own.Follow online tutorials of the language you want to learn.Don't forget that you need to learn the hardware architecture on which you are programming.Mostly embedded systems.Stick to engineering. It cuts across all fields of life.
please guys i need some past post jamb question of oou pls can you do me some favour plssss embarassed

Guys i hav an ND in computer science nd i want to swap to computer engineering can i make it
Re: Computer Enginnering Or Computer Science by Greatken007(m): 7:17pm On Jul 05, 2017
I don't think any institution will offer you admission, Computer Engineering is far higher than computer Science. You have missed the basic foundation of Engineering principles and such can't be compromise. It beats my imagination seeing people compare both fields here.

Ofcourse, you can make it provided U're well grounded in maths and physics. A friend did same and was able to cope successfully. Also ur gpa should be on the high side to facilitate ur transfer.

Do you know even if you are a Prof in Computer science and later did PGD in Computer Engineering Nigerian society of Engineers will never recognise you. I repeat it is abnormal to switch from ND Computer science to HND Computer Engineering. You can't even move from ND Electrical to HND MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The best place to inquire is the Department in question. Meet with the HOD.

Well, maybe it's abnormal but it's doable. I think the difference in ND level won't be much. My opinion though.

Why do u think he won't be accepted?
Re: Computer Enginnering Or Computer Science by Greatken007(m): 5:11pm On Jul 06, 2017
In ND Computer Engineering you will do some Electrical courses like EEC115 and also several mechanical engineering courses, like Technical drawing, machine tools, statics and Dynamics, few other courses, how would one tends to skip all these
