In this day and age, what will it take to glance at number plates ? 1/2 a second?

Will you now say my plate number looked similar to yours? How can you have zero situational and environmental awareness?
Absent mindedness isn't an excuse; what if there are kidnappers in the back seat or criminals lurking nearby?

The culprit had better be a General or a Karate Black belter because if he isn't lynched, I would give him / her slaps to reset the brain to factory settings.

Do you think a thief would politely say "Yes sir, I was kindly stealing your car?"

It's like a rapist caught in the act who says "All vaginas look the same, so I mistook hers for my wife's"
Don't jump to conclusions.
I remember going for school runs one day only to discover on coming out from the classroom that my vehicle had "doubled".
Same vehicle
Same colour
Same trim
And most shockingly same number plates except for the state which will NOT be noticed by a cursory glance.
Parked side by side.

I was in awe for some seconds.

So please broaden your point of view

As requested. This is not to provide anything to anyone. I simply don't have to and definitely not going to.
