StarPlayer:Let me tell u if u dont know most these countries abroad ve got d basics. For example I live in d Scandinavia and u can never see even as little as one beggar. Even mad people live in homes not like ur face me I face u. U re deceiving yourself when u ve not even travelled abroad. Cmmon light na rocket science for Nigeria me I am experiencing my first 4 yrs of uniterrupted power in my entire life which u wil never experience. You may not be living better in Nigeria as a citizen in ur own country better Syrian and Iraqi refugees here. Honestly speaking ur mouth go glue. In Germany that resettled over 1 million refugees with homes well furnished u go freeze. See how Nigerians living in IDP camps are treated in their own country displaced by Bokoharam. Let me educate u a bit with some links. I can still tell u more from my experience so far living here. Look at d link all Scandanavia countries made d first top 10 list in d link below. https://www.google.no/amp/www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/news/countries-with-the-highest-standard-of-living-social-progress-index/amp/ http://www.businessinsider.com/19-countries-with-the-highest-standard-of-life-according-to-the-social-progress-report-2016-6?r=UK&IR=T&IR=T/#2-canada-8949-for-such-a-huge-nation-canada-only-has-35-million-citizens-and-they-are-some-of-the-best-looked-after-in-the-world-canadas-healthcare-is-what-stands-it-above-the-rest-education-and-opportunity-in-the-country-are-also-impressively-strong-18 https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/quality-of-life-full-list U can google list of countries that make up d scandanavia and the google about them. Othe countries may not ve it that way but it is not as bad as Nigeria. Even besieged Palestine has more electricity than Nigeria. Stop self deceit that is d worst form of deceit. 3 Likes |

This Naija na Bastard, I remember when I hadn't travelled out , when I was still here the kind of insults I received and the kind of abusive words I received from adults, let's not consider the situation of the country cos its worth making someone cry, when I travelled things changed automatically, I saw people who appreciated me and gave me courage , nice lifestyle so far as you abide by the fair rules and I became richer , when I came bk with my car but still in a rugged form, these adults were the ones bowing to me and telling me folktale stories like 1. I carried you when you were small my son 2. your dad and me were best friends then 3. you are a leader for others to follow ( me wey wear earrings, plait hair and tore fashioned jeans trouser) 4. I knew you were going to make it. 5. I have been praying for you. .... the thunder wey go fore them dey do horsemanship for Aso rock,.. As for you saying Naija is better than the overseas but still suffering, I pity you, an you dy make this country fall the more.. 2 Likes |

What I ve been able to make in 3 yrs here wud ve taken me 15-20 yrs to achieve and tell me how many yrs do we ve to live on earth. 2 Likes |

So because one idiot man says hardship in US is better than Nigeria, it means he's right? Only a foolish person will agree with such a useless opinion. If you go abroad yoiu will see how these suececffer heads value their coins like say na treasure, they are suffering out there. While you can see a Nigerian spend 50 pounds notes, you hardly see those diasporians spend anything more than 1 to 5 pounds at a go. Forget the lies they peddle on nairaland, life is hard there too. Yes the have light, water, and stuffs but unlike here you can't just stay with w relative more than a month without complaints, they will kick you out for using their utilities, prepare your mind to stand alone once you step foot there. Forget the lies o, be warned, all that glitters isn't gold 1 Like |

if you are comfortable in Nigeria, you have your gateman, house maid, driver, diesel generator etc. and people refer you as chairman, Madam ,oga, boss , then stay here in Nigeria. Your business is doing well, you have a good paying job , you are political connected or your can hustle pass Mr. Evans and you are eating well, your car have a/c and can cost up to #5000000 any given day , you can travel to London, Dubai, New York when you want to or when you feel like. There is no need to come to US, UK and start all over. You can come for holiday or see friends and family. 5 Likes |

Nigeriasondie...... well you are passing a message we know but don't think everyone that is in Nigeria is here because we don't have opportunity of going out there are still people that go abroad for holidays and come back..... I don't think pidgin2 is saying Nigeria is better than abroad I think she's not just happy with the kind of life some Africans are living abroad. To me o I don't believe if you are doing well in Nigeria you should just hop and leave to uncertainty all because of social amenities. If you are in Nigeria and you are finding it well you know where your next YEARS meals will come from and you have an OK accommodation which is yours and you have clothes to wear you have no business abroad visiting should be your business But if Nigeria hard for you please find your way for a better life this earth is for all of us no one deserves to suffer 3 Likes |

Pidgin2: Auntie/Uncle, you need to change your circles. I find it hilarious when people come on Nairaland and make ill-informed generalized assumptions about the standard of living of Nigerians abroad. Please speak for yourself, your friends and your family members abroad. If you/them are suffering abroad, God will deliver you. I for one have several Nigerian friends and I do not know a single one of them with a household income that is not substantially above the US average (or the average in the cities they live in). We can all very easily eat out as we please, buy homes and cars and go on vacations multiple times a year. I agree that this may be the exception but the point I'm trying to make is that a lot of Nigerians in the US and the UK are doing very well. Please stop making (and communicating) your silly assumptions. Many Thanks! 3 Likes |

StarPlayer:Guy pls define a poor man to me. For me it is one who cant afford life's basic necessity- clothing housing and food. Bros na because I lost my memory card I wud shown a village where Syrian refugees are resettled in Germany I was mad with fury that mere refugees live decent lives. Even IDPs displaced by Boko haram in camps in their own country dont live better than pets here. I dont mean to insult my fellow country men. If u know how social security in Europe works then u will know that poverty can be completely eradicated not just reduced. In d Scandanavia, theirs is superb. Google a model being developed recently in Finland which is also a Scandinavian country. Boy even d poor can feed u here. Pls no insults. Guy u no go understand until u see it yourself. Let me inform u that many Nigerians are really do well in skilled profession doctors, engineers, lawyers, lecturers many with impressive research work like d university i am in presently. Whether unskilled, semi or skilled labour i earn enough and even remaining to send back home is it not better than suit and tie job and if na govt work dey owe me salary for months or if i retire they tell me to line up under sun and rain for one stupid verification exercise before I collect my peanut pension. JbravoAdodger:Most minimum wage in the US pay $12 to $15 per hour. Remember you have to work at least 40 hours per week excluding overtime that pays more like $16 to $18 per overtime hour over normal time. So US cannot be #18, 000 naira per day. |
