Hi All,

Lately, I have been thinking of a pet to go for. So much for being a dog lover, but needed something different. Just when I thought I was going for the canine after all, I ran into a kitten on my way from one of my farm visitations. It's definitely one of the wild cats around that gave birth to this adorable one. I looked around and saw two others. But, I only picked one and off I left with it. My very own cat pet. Just what I needed for a companion.

Been a week now, and we have bonded just well enough, and yeah, I named it Stella (No offence to anyone, it's a name I love so much)...Stella Stroud. Lol...she's simply adorable, beautiful and well-behaved. Though the wild cat instinct are setting in gradually; always going for my legs, jumping on me just to lay down on my stomach or watch me chat on my phone. I guess it wants to become a nairalander.

Please, any cat lover in here? Don't hesitate to help out a brother who is new into cats.

I wished I had the financial strength to take care of three kittens. I felt sad leaving the other two behind though. One will do for now.

Stella is doing real good. She has settled in very well, in fact we are close buddies right now.

Guess what, I did go back to the same spot and I did pick the other two up (sorry mama cat). Gave one out and took the other home to Stella.

So it's Stella and hmmmm...Rubby now. Yes Stella and Rubby. Stella's size is quite alarming. So much bigger, I guess I have been over feeding her.

Feeding:
Feed them twice daily. First thing in the morning and late in the evening when I get home. A mixture of cow liver, fish (shawa), eko and red oil, all blended together. Sometimes, I mix it with boiled eggs. Stopped giving them milk because I noticed Stella always throws up hours after taking milk.

Placed three carton with sand in it around the house.

These kittens are so troublesome walahi...I now wear footwear around the house. Will be cutting their nails anytime next week. I hope that make sense?!

Above all, I so much adore Stella...and Rubby, well, just getting to know her.

Update on Stella & Rubby

What a family we've turned into. So adorable cats. Chai, they can eat, do follow-follow up and down the house, always moving my things improperly placed, climbing all elevated structures in the house. Stella still insist on sleeping on me anything time I'm indoors (I just taya. Lol).

Friends now call me Baba Stella or Baba Rubby. At,least some avoid my house like a plague hehehehehe. C'mon, leave all those winchy winchy things, cats are such great pets to keep and lovely company to be with.

Yes I do stay alone and Yes, they are strictly indoor pets. Can't afford a lalastica's disciple making frontpage with my pets saying "see the bush meat I killed in my hood today".

Cool but don't they urinate and excrete just anywhere? How do you cope with that?

Oopse! I guess you've got a thing or so to learn about cats. All I did was put sandbox(s) (litter), placed 3 corners around the house, which I change once in two days (well it depends). Believe me, those are the only spots in which they do their excretion/urinating. Ain't they just lovable and adorable?

Cats are one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest animals. They dig to poo and cover it up. You always find them licking their fur to keep themselves clean

Wow!!! I must confess, raising kittens ain't no small task biko. The ever persistent meowing and yowling when they need something, scratching everything scratchable, especially me shoes, and the new habit of coming to sleep beside me on my bed they just developed is serious wahala for me... Lol, for once, I indeed feel like a father of two. Hehehe... Stella & Rubby are always on my mind, with the ever mind bugging questions; "what are we eating today?" Loool.
