Baba Fashola is just looking for more money to line his pocket ... The ones he stole from Lagos state is not enough

What happened to all the increase, the power situation is still very poor so make he allow us hear word
1.Fashola can't line his pockets from power because of privatization (DISCOS and GENCOS...remember...since 2014).

2.Despite the increases...the money needed to fix power in Nigeria is huge. TO wit...we need to find $300bn to spend in the next 3 years to guarantee light 24/7. (ten times our current external reserves).

3.And banks won't lend to DISCOS and GENCOS...plus their suppliers....even Nigeria Gas Company....want to be paid in dollars...not naira.

When will the minimum wage be reviewed? When will the FG put themselves in the shoes of the masses?
Re: Don’t Stop Electricity Tariff Review, Fashola Begs Nigerians by murmee: 11:13am On Jul 14, 2017
What NERC and the Minister should do is to compel all Discos to connect All or 95% of Nigerians to Prepaid meters.

People can then use what they can afford just like the GSM telephones. The big Onus is on Discos to checkmate bypassing by monitoring and punishing those found guilty.

Issuing estimated bills to people is unlawful and unacceptable and metering transformers instead of individuals is also wrong because some people have/use more electrical gadgets than others.
Re: Don’t Stop Electricity Tariff Review, Fashola Begs Nigerians by babapressy(m): 11:13am On Jul 14, 2017
No single light in my area, yet we pay light bill constantly. We even pay for transformer. They only bring light a day to when they want to come collect bill. The ligh wunt even stay up to 3hrs and the annoying thing is they bring it at mid night when they know your sleeping and wunt use it.
Very annoying thing.

connectpoint:
Fashola is totally clueless asper the functions of a minister, what he ought to have done immediately after resumption of office was an audit on the entire power sector chain, from gas supply, distribution, rate of power produced, bottlenecks affecting the chain at any levels and implement policies that would unstop the bottlenecks for example, the rule that discos must provide pre-paid meters is good, but the dude is fumbling, when we mention these things, some people say we attack him out of hatred for a specie...the thing makes me weak... Fashola has lost it..or rather doesn't have it at all.. Fashola should :

1. Tell us the exact amount of power Nigeria was generating when he took over and tell Nigerians how it has been improved.

2. Tell Nigeria how much has been realised from the increment and why power hasn't improved despite the heavy burden placed on my people.

3. Give us milestones of what to expect over the next x years

Rather Fashola is fighting with the senate/reps trying to be relevant because Ambode is now the rising figure and his tall dream of being the abobaje or leader of the south west is being decimated by Ambode's sudden rise in popularity..I pity him..Nothing of worth can be said to have been done under his watch... Fidigbon o shi lekun... grammar doesn't make account balance increase...that's his demise....

Instead of Fashola to concentrate on getting the DISCOS to start accepting 100 percent of the power wheeled to them by GENCOS he is talking of Tarrif increase when the DISCOS especial that useless EKO disco is primarily neck deep in the evil business of selling darkness to consumers in the 21st century while they reject 70 percent of the power sent thier way by GENCOS, the practice of selling darkness is one of the most hideous economic and consumer crime I have come across and Fashola keeps proving me right that he is a part of it.
The DISCOS cannot accept 100% power from the GENCOS for these reasons

1.Our ancient transmission system (run by govt.via Transmission Company of Nigeria)..needs trillions of naira for complete fixing)

2.GENCOS want to be paid in dollars for the power they give DISCOS...because GENCOS suppliers want their payment in dollars. including entities like Nigeria Gas.

You probably forgot that the DISCO'S biggest debtor is the Government MDAs.

And most of this DISCOS lack corporate governance.

I feel disgusted when government mouthpiece like Fashola and co speak on this kind of issue from the angle that favours them. Agreed that the exchange rate is swinging up north and this is affecting cost of input.Have you ever thought of implications of further upward review in tariff on the hapless consumers? To make it worse, these increases have never been greeted by improved services - at least from the past experiences. Did Fashola ever think of what the exchange rate fluctuation has done to the minimum wage of workers who pay for this tariff? How many times has govt ever forced upward review of minimum wage? Not even once I can remember. And I am sure the ongoing committee work on minimum wage review will last the remaining life of this administration and no result. I thought the essence of government in the system is to cater for the welfare and well being of its citizenry! Where is the place of this responsibility in this matter as far as the government is concerned? Can we for once in this country begin to do things right? They also talk about people and corporate bodies do not pay taxes. How will they pay in the face of lack of accountability on the part of government, as well as unbridled and mindless corruption going on in government circles?

God help Nigeria...looking at the comment of the so called Nigerian Leader of tomorrow/today... most u be sentimental with your comment...the fact that you don't have light in your area is not/not entirely on the minister of power...have you checked the funtionality of your CDA,LCDA,etc... the fact that you don't have a transformer is that the Minister fault? the fact that the unqualified people in your area keep tempering with your transformer is it the Minister fault... the Minister has given you (information) indirectly the Body responsible for changing tariff and how it is done... some of you have constant power supply, yet you come to this platform to tarnish images... I'm not a supporter of any person or party but i dare to recognized Activeness from passiveness...

What are you even saying? This is the same tone he used just over a year ago when he increased our electricity tariff by 50 percent and till now not a single improvement has been seen .
I av sed the man is a typical example of what a propaganda machine can do.
Fashola right from his tenureship in Lagos has been a glorified, overhyped, confidence artist, with disguised elements of corruption in him and that's what d present Lagos state govt was trying to get d cattle rearer's govt and public to know, but like Yakubu,Buratai,Dambazzau, etc,u are corrupt free as long as u are appointed by "mr integrity".
Fashola is simply akin to a smooth talking conman, all show, no substance.

He is a real goat. I am being charged N11,000 monthly (estimated billing, the idiots refused to give us meters) for a 2 bedroom flat! As if I own a pure water factory inside my house.
Your bill is small compared to the 24000 naira bill goat fashola and his cohorts charge me every month for darkness.

God knows that I want Fashola to use force to compel those DISCOS to install prepaid meters for everyone....if necessary ....

But.....

1.As someone said elsewhere on Nairaland....DISCOS don't earn enough cash from prepaid meters. They rely heavily on people on estimated billing (like me!) to reach their financial targets. Installing prepaid meters for everyone is a good idea....but a bad one from a financial standpoint.

2.People bypass meters (and when DISCOS try to intervene...as happened a few streets away from my residence')...violence can occur.

This man cannot achieve anything without killing people. Senior Advocate of excess tax, Senior advocate of price increase. Running government like a one man business venture. Have you beg your fellow governors to pay workers salaries? And the one paying half salary what have you done about it Sir?

its true fashola performance in Lagos was over hyped. and i believe someone like fayose would performed better than fashola in Lagos from what we are witnessing from abode, its shows any governor will still do better in Lagos because Lagos is rich.

now to the electricity tariff review. even if they increased it to one million me and you knows that there won't be any meaningful change. if they cannot operate it under the current review they should as a matter of fact handover it back to the government or the sell it back. government should stop interference with private investors. these guys are running business for crying out loud. they should put them on the toe with strict orders. it's not by force if they can't run it they should hand it back to government.
The way Fayose has been performing wonders in Ekiti like cutting fish at the market, buying rice at the road side.

Give us guarantee 15hours power if we will not pay your reviewed price. I think he is getting it wrong its simple calculation increase power supply and see if Nigerians would not even start paying b4 month end
