When optimism is not evenly balanced with realism, it becomes a giant folly, just like a man skydiving out of an airplane without being strapped to a parachute and thinking that by being optimistic he would somehow survive the fall. The laws of nature, and more specifically, the law of gravity does not pander to optimism. So, insomuch as we should hope for the best, we should err on the side of caution by priming ourselves for the worst as well. Did I make sense?

Now you are being reasonable, by admitting relationship is a 50/50 game of chance. There are no 99.9% certainties especially in matters where humans are largely the determining agents. Humans are fallible, and we also cannot rule out the influence of unpredictable external factors which could come into play at some point, e.g. death, relocation, loss of interest, etc.

I swear, the way these girls use style style to friend-zone guys - even guys who aren't interested -, one would begin to think that they have a Ph.D in friend-zoning.
