NB: I had opted for the computer Science course because I wanted to do my MSC in Data Science and it requires a good knowledge of Computer Science. I do know how to program and all but don't really have a good theoretic background for MSc in Data Science

Hi dear, I think there instructions were clear enough - as per the time they will reply some questions. Answering some questions take's time. Also, they know they stand to be quoted in future, hence, they have to be careful in selecting their words. Lets be patient with them. In the interim, here is one awesome question a Nigerian asked recently. It makes a lot of sense. Be kind to teach me how to bold things when you have some spare time. I really don't know how to do that poesy! Cheers my fellow UWO housemate. We shall argue and fight in canny Gods willing!!!

I stated my reason for going for a PGD (Cgpa 2.91) which most Master program required 3.0 and above.[/quote

I went for PGD and this was the reason I gave. Am surprised.

Vancouver Island university has a pre-MBA program for people with 2:2 or switching careers. I think its for 3-6 months. Not sure. But a friends wife did it last year and then got into MBA. She got admission for MBA but on the condition that she would do the pre-MBA program.

Mehn, IRCC today though! Make everybody calm down small. Nothing spoil. Things will always be surmontable.

To those that got delayed, i can understand the feel but you will need to cool off alittle. The outcome of the application is emotionally traumatising in itself already. While we re-strategize for a better re-application. I'll advice you stop further addressing of the refusal. Take a day or two to allow the process of going through the emotions (which is normal for any human faced with such issue), try to forget what went wrong or not. The next step should be the center point which i will suggest ordering of GCMS note ASAP. You will feel better after few days and especially when we don't dwell so much on what might have gone wrong.

We go still put one or two things that was missing together and everything will be fine soon. Certainly not the end of things. Just a little challenge that will be addressed soon. Nothing spoil.

Please, let's all just relax and leave further posts about what we all think till the GCMS file is out. This is my opinion though, anybody can suggest differently. I'm still una boy!

Sorry boss for your delay.

In my opinion, you can still do a masters in data science with your statistics degree. Reason being that the major "ingredient" for data science is statistics. For you to have a 3.65 cgpa suggests you know your onions in statistics.

If you are patient, I suggest you check university of waterloo... They have what you need and bachelors in statistics is one of the required degree...

I attached the link below for your perusal.

Sorry once again boss.

You can still try to apply. who knows, you might be favoured and get probation admission. See what I read from the site.

" Probationary Student
An applicant who has completed a program of study as for a regular student above, but who has not attained the appropriate overall standing, may be admitted to a Master's program as a probationary student provided that at least one of the following conditions is satisfied:

The applicant has substantial relevant occupational experience (normally three years) beyond the Bachelor's degree.
The applicant's standing in the final year is substantially above the level of a full B (normally B+ to A-).
The school will specify in writing at least the first two courses in the student's program when the student is recommended for admission. Upon completion of the specified courses, the student's status will be evaluated by the school. If the student has achieved an average of at least 78 in these courses, he/she may continue in the MMath program as a regular student. If the student's average on these courses falls below 78 but not below 73 his/her status will be reviewed by the Graduate committee. Normally a student will not continue on probationary status for more than two terms."

Like you, I was initially discouraged to apply to Masters program becos my cgpa is3.06/5 but now with research, I have found out that there are some schools who do take 2:2, even for MBA. (you need to have strong documents in addition though and then sometimes finance comes in.) For example, University of Alberta and Calgary accepts 3.0/4 for the "last" two years of undergraduate studies but men the MBA cost is high! With your 2:1, you can do further search. Even Queen Mary has data analytics but the fees again is quite high.

Like advised by the gurus, take a break, rest your head, refuel your determination, do more research and reapply. Wish you the best.

Kindly check your progression & proposed program in order not to be given these VOs opportunity to be delaying us.

Do as you hv said...MSc in statistics, at least ur cgpa is fine.

It's well. Sure testify soonest.

Yes they are, the cheapest MBAs are in MUN (newfoundland university) and lakehead University (thunder bay,Ontario) ..cost about 15k for fees. they require GMAT. TRU and VIU don't require GMAT, take 2:2, have foundation programs and January start programs. This makes them more competitive, so the earlier you start applying the better. TRU application for intl students expires by Oct 15th, I am not sure of the date for VIU. The only problem is no funding for these BC schools.

Comparing the school fees for all the other MBA schools which require GMAT, and not all offer funding, if I was trying to reduce cost, I would apply to these 4 schools and strive for the best.
Some schools offer pre-masters, pre -MBA. You just need to research, send enquiry mails and build up the required documents for submission.

Wish you all the best. It will end in praise and we will all smile to canny land. grin
