Diego was ushered into the well-ventilated office. He beamed when he saw his friend, and a senior police officer seated behind his table. He stood up and they both shook hands. The man was a Nigerian but was born and brought up in Germany, spending almost all his life there. 'hallo friend. Its been quite a long time. How's Vero?' He sat down and Diego also sat. 'she's fine. What of Zelma and the kids?' 'very fine. They travelled to Washington for the holidays. You see, Zelma wants to open a new shopping line there and she went there for inspection. We already bought a builing for it,' He smiled proudly and Diego almost rolled his eyes. That was his problem with Zelig. He liked to boast and Diego detested that 'she even opened one newly in Dubai and China. I forgot to tell you, i'm sorry. We're also packing to our new house next week and we'll be hosting a housewarming party, i'll make sure you and your family are invited, its going to be a large party. Zelma's mum would be coming in from Los Angeles...' Diego forced a laughter. Though there was nothing funny in what Zelig was saying, he had no option but to laugh in order to cut him short. He was in no mood for endless talks. And beside, Zelig was never a serious person. 'anyway, thats for another day. I'm here in regards to the two women arrested yesterday in my house. When i called you....' 'oh yeah! There are still in the cell. They've refused to confess their motives in your house. One claims to be Kelly's biological mum and the older one claims to be Kelly's grandmum, the younger woman's mother, thats to say mother and daughter were arrested in your house yesterday' 'what?!' Diego couldnt believe his ears. He knew from the very moment he set his eyes on the stranger that he had seen her somewhere. But what he didnt know was that she was Kelly's mum. 'so what does she want?' He asked. 'her daughter back. According to her, Vero's maltreating her daughter and she wants her back. Which i find very surprising because i know how much Vero loves both Junior and Kelly. She would never do such to the only kids she ever had to call her mum' Zelig replied and Diego sighed heavily. 'you wont understand the things happening in my family Zelig. I dont know what changed Veronica. She isnt the woman i used to know. She isnt the loving and caring woman she once was. Granted, i messed up. I messed up big big time. bleeping my old housemaid wasnt something i should have done. I dont even know what came over me that day. I was starved. I was angry. That had been the first day she slapped Kelly in my presence. The old harlot presented herself to me and i fell for her erect ass and i promised her it wasnt going to happen again. But since then she changed drastically. The Vero i knew disappeared and the one living with me currently is...is...something i cant even describe' 'so what you're saying is that the women were saying the truth? Because the older woman claimed she spoke to Kelly accidentally one day when she called Vero and Kelly called back begging and pleading to be taken away from Vero' Diego's eyes widened 'really? I never knew of that' Zelig sighed 'so what do we do now?' 'no idea. I have grown to love Kelly and i cant do without her. But now i'm confused. I'm torn between handing the girl over to her mum and grandmum to protect her from harmful Vero and not letting her go. I love the little girl so very much' He sighed again 'i know Freda very well. Her youngest daughter had given birth at the age of 13 and she wanted to give the baby away for adoption saying the baby was going to be a hindrance to her daughter's life. She's the child's grandmother. She isnt lying' 'so what are you trying to say? That the women be released and allowed custody of Kelly?' Diego sighed 'its going to be a hard decision to make but thats the only way. Its a secret but i've been keeping in touch with Perla. She's a changed woman, no longer the neighbourhood prostitute. And she wants a second chance with Junior. I've not been having an affair with her per se, but we're getting pretty serious. I'm thinking of taking Junior, marry her and relocate to another state' Zelig sat up immediately 'thats a pretty serious plan Degs. I thought you loved Vero' 'i love Junior more. And i cant be with a woman who doesnt care about my one and only offspring. Perla would make a good mum to Junior. I'm divorcing Vero and handing Kelly over to Freda and her daughter. Perla and i are getting married and i'm relocating, i'll sell of the hospital and build another wherever i go' Zelig shook his head and nodded for a while before pressing the intercom and ordering for the release of the two women newly arrested. Nice work OP. Good thing Diego made the decision himself and in a police station. Meanwhile, will kelly be shared into two just to appease the women? Who exactly will take custody of her? I wish Mother and daughter will make up for the sake of poor Kelly. 1 Like |
