Well I do agree with us pulling out of the deal because its obvious they never quoted 70m to us. They must have insisted on DDG in return for Morata and we told them where to go and got Lukaku. That I'm happy with because it means we won't be doing any business with Real anytime soon. Lukaku isn't my favorite but he's proven he's a very good goalscorer so we can't really ask for more than that.

Morata is for me best as a sub striker. Forget that he scores when he comes on to pad his stats, he lacks that presence/aggression you need in a CF to lead the line. I'm glad Costa is gone. They'll see the difference soon.

They wanted to make life a hard as possibl. Pulling out when we did was the most sensible thing to do.

Exactly. Madrid had no intention of selling him to us that's what United fans are not understanding. We chased the guy for up to a month and the total money was outrageous. Woodward had to back off.

If he goes for less to Chelsea, then it's not shocking because Madrid have no beef with Chelsea.

They already know this, hence why they frustrated that deal. Morata wanted to leave, Mourinho wanted him badly. You could even feel this by his tone in that press conference. At a point United players were very convinced he'd sign because he'd already agreed a deal with us remaining for Madrid to play their own part.

Madrid couldn't stand on his way to leave, so in order to ruin the party for us, they refused to lower their asking price which scuppered the deal. They just paid us back for frustrating De Gea's deal last season. Fair game, TBH.
