I have this hepatitis b virus result at hand now and am lost with the meaning, for sure i know it is positive but am comfused with the others,tried browsing about it but i still cant figure, please i need a little enlightenment..thanks

HbeAb- Positive
HbsAg- Positive
HBCore IgM- Negative
Anti HCV- Negative

Test result is the only situation were negative is preferred to positive.

You have been infected with hepatitis b virus. You are either naturally immune to it already or you are currently suffering from the illness depending on your current state.

HBV (hepatitis B virus) is a type of hepatitis which is infectious and can be transmitted through bodily fluid e.g. through inter-course or infected blood transmission etc.

The result shows that you're infected (HbsAg +ve) and can be transmitted to others. The virus is still likely at the incubation period, there is no replication i.e. no reproduction (HbeAg -ve) which indicates that your immune system is fighting against the infection (HbeAb +ve). It's not yet chronic (HBCore IgM -ve). Hepatitis C Virus (HBC) another more infectious type of hepatitis is not present (Anti HCV -ve).
