GMAT

Test-Taking Strategies
1. Read very carefully the set of statements on which a question is based.
Pay close attention to
• what is put forward as factual information
• what is not said but necessarily follows from what is said
• what is claimed to follow from facts that have been put forward
• how well substantiated are any claims that a particular conclusion follows from the facts
that have been put forward
In reading the arguments, it is important to pay attention to the logical reasoning used; the
actual truth of statements portrayed as fact is not important.
2. Identify the conclusion.
The conclusion does not necessarily come at the end of the text; it may come somewhere in the
middle or even at the beginning. Be alert to clues in the text that an argument follows
logically from another statement or statements in the text.
3. Determine exactly what each question asks.
You might find it helpful to read the question first, before reading the material on which it is
based; don’t assume that you know what you will be asked about an argument. An argument
may have obvious flaws, and one question may ask you to detect them. But another question
may direct you to select the one answer choice that does NOT describe a flaw in the
argument.
4. Read all the answer choices carefully.
Do not assume that a given answer is the best without first reading all the choices.

it would come as a surprise if questions were to be set on critical reasoning though... under intense exam condition, it might even take 5 minutes to understand the writeup and question, then another 5 minutes to answer. grin grin

DPR sent ma a mail that am having my exam on 28/07/2017 and I log in now to see my date had been change to 24/07/2017, please what should I do?

Hi Emperor / whom it may concern,

I guess you have contacted them already for proper guidance. Otherwise, I advise you do so. If no positive response is given, please go to your venue on the new date given (assuming it comes before the initial date given to you) with any evidence (mail & slip) showing you were scheduled on both dates. Then leave DPR to make the final decision. Worst case, they'll send you back home and ask you to work with the first date.

To those travelling to their venues, the above still applies.

This way, I doubt you'll ruin your chance of writing the test.

Happy Sunday in advance!

GMAT just got interesting. Check out this Quantitative reasoning...

Positive integer y is 50 percent of 50 percent of
positive integer x, and y percent of x equals 100.
What is the value of x ?

@AlexisM16...if dis is your idea of discouraging people dat got invites for d DPR test, I've got news for you. True, d system is flawed and corruption/nepotism overrides merit....but opportunity, chance and merit still do count. You could keep being a pessimist hanging around people with 'long legs' or you could face reality, realise u r also in d same shoes as a lot of us and start studying to give your best shot at whatever opportunity comes ur way. And please stop d discouragement...it's grossly overrated.

Would you shut the Bleep up and get lost?

Mr optimist, who said I gave up hope? See what's infront of you and still deny it. Do I blame you? You're so optimistic that your house rent is paying itself and your joblessness is feeding you.

Eediot! Quoting me to say rubbish like you know a single thing about life.

Those still asking for past questions till now are either DELUDED, confused or plain LAZY! Coincidentally, these three traits have no place in dpr.

No hard feelings.
You could not have said it better, that is what it is. Lazy and confused people that always believe and follow whatever is said or given to them without critical thinking; always wanting others to make things so easy for them without efforts. I pity Nigerian labour-market. Are these the so-called graduates? I shake my head; it is a pity.

If I should pass the DPR Test next week and/or employed, it is not because of the FAKE/IRRELEVANT past questions/answers am seeing on this thread and other pages.

Y= 0.5(0.5X) =0.25X
Y/100 * X = 100
By substitution, 0.25X/100 * X = 100
0.25X^2/100 = 100
0.25X^2 = 10000
X^2 = 10000/0.25 = 40000
X= √40000 = 200
