Hello...can you pls assist with this if you have any info? Thanks

Okay thanks, just want to find out if any, which section or category do they classify Nigerian Trade Test Certificates pls. To be able to know if one can get positive assessment with only this qualification. Thanks.

Can you provide more information about the qualification? CEP tends to favour Nigeria Trade certificate more.

the certificate is a federal government certificate, the technical college is federal government approved....purely for training of artisans and trade craft people...

I've been here 11 months and it's been great so far.

Yet to get something in my field, quite challenging with the 476 but not impossible.
I'm not sure what you meant by semi-skilled jobs, but I was able to survive on menial jobs in my first months here.
Got a better job at the start of the year, but still tryna get something in my field (Chemical Engineering) or related.
It depends on individual lifestyle.

Yes, the pay is good enough to live comfortably.
However, comfort is relative and needs to be put in perspective.

Yes, there are possibilities of staying back;
Apply for Permanent Residency by following the steps and guides on this thread which is what I've done
or
Get an employer that needs your skills to sponsor you.

nenye994:

could u please tell me how it's been so far? Have u been able to get a job in your field or engage in semi-skilled jobs? Is the pay good enough to live comfortably in Aussie ? Any possibility of staying back after the 18 months visa granted ?

HI e-fam,

What type of certificate does an Hairdresser need for Migration purpose.

What Authority issue this certificate in Nigeria

The person in question is already practicing the trade as a stylist in a good saloon but not the owner.

Thats actually one thing we are trying to find way around as i think the Trade Test Certificate from Government Technical College is highly relevant here but if TRA can give positive assessment with only such qualification is another thing one really needs to consider bfore paying the Assessment fee of $1000....just like that ...

the hustle is taking a new turn; DIBP made changes to waiting/processing times for SC189 @ 8months and 11 months minimum for 75% as well as 90% of application being processed respectively, update as at 20 July,2017( for the month ending June 2017). Now the long wait continues.......... undecided

3.2 Qualification documents
For your application to be registered by TRA, it must include evidence of formal training and outcomes that can be considered comparable to the AQF qualification for your nominated occupation. Therefore, the following documents must be included with your application:
• final qualification/s or apprenticeship certificate or award
• a full academic transcript or other documents that include the start and end date of your training and details of the program of study
• apprenticeship documents such as the contract of apprenticeship, journal or any other relevant document from your employer, governing body or training institution relating to your apprenticeship if applicable.

The following items cannot be used as a substitute for a qualification:
• occupational licences
• trade tests not supported by comparable and verifiable formal training
• short course certificates such as single day or single subject training
• work experience.

The above info is from TRA's website

Hi Nkechima,

I been dey check the TRA guide for someone, but the thing never clear for my eye.

The person has a verifiable 12 months training certificate + plus transcript since 2012. She's been running her own catering business since then. The company is duly registered but she's been using her personal account to run it with no tax records. Plus the incomes too have not been substantial.

Am wondering if work experience is mandatory with TRA. If yes, would she be able to scale through TRA assessment with this work experience narrative? Just to add, she also has a degree in English from Unilag which is obviously not related to the occupation she's nominating (Baker).

That spirit is all we have to keep going on

I've been noticing the delay trend from all over the forums.
I even read somewhere that the Skill select system is confused with the new Lists also https://imminews.com.au/2017/07/18/skillselect-glitches/

Also that DIBP may also go through some change http://www.themandarin.com.au/81517-unpacking-classic-turnbullian-announcement-home-affairs-cyber-security-and-intelligence/

I could not agree with DIBP being confused* at the moment . No ceiling after 24 days into July, no result from 1st round... 2nd round is less than 24hrs away.
*(Although this is probably own view, DIBP definitely knows what she is cooking)

I want to believe all this tighter rules and information hoarding is based on global border security against terrorism and the likes.

Indeed no one seems to know what is causing the delay for sure. It's all speculations. I lodged on May 10 and there hasn't been a single CO contact not Immi Commencement Email since lodgement. It seems a lot is happening at the same time with DIBP. New software platfrom, RE-organisation and massive Downsizing in the visa processing unit, the new Home affairs department, etc. I guess we haven't got a choice other than to wait and pray for some pleasant surprises.

Even a new stream has now been opened for the New-Zealanders within the 189 quota..............I doubt if this would not affect the occupational ceilings when eventually released. We should all just hope for the best as Alphdoor said sha.

@greeneophyte, have u sent them a reminder? Some times they work on cases after reminder....this is from personal experience.
