Hello Doc, I have a lovely Alsatian named JJ. He's gonna be 10 weeks old come 2mao. He weighed 6.5kg tonight.

I fed him with can food till last Monday when I decided to get him Booster food.

The booster costs me 19200. He hardly eats it though but I dunno what to do so he could eat just the Booster.

Also, he sheds his fur/hair these days.

Kindly advice accordingly.

Hello,

Sincere apologies for this late late reply. I did promise to get back to you and didn't.

I'm pretty sure this case should be resolved by now but for the benefit of any who might be in a similar position, I'll give my opinion and advice.

I believe one reason JJ hardly eats the booster is probably the way you introduced it-suddenly. New food must be gradually introduced to a puppy. First by mixing the new food with the old one in varying proportions before eventually serving only the new.

Also, it could be that JJ simply doesn't like the food. Just like we humans, dogs have food preferences too.

Shedding hair is a natural phenomenon with many breeds of dogs. It's a way of getting rid of old fur for new fur to grow. Excessive shedding could also be a sign of worm infestation and that would mean having your dog examined by a vet.

JJ must be a big boy now grin

Hope this helps, however late it comes.

Thank you.

Madam pls hw do I treat my dogs injured ear.
I have being spraying it with oxy voilet spray
Flies have being perching on it ..
My dog always scratches the ear making it bleed again
Am tired of the matter.
Am planning of wrapping it with tape and cotton wool deeper in voilet spray..Art least to drive away the flies bcus it's really irritating. Thanks in advance

Hi,
Sincere apologies for this late response.

From my experience, dog ear wounds can be frustrating to deal with. This is because it takes forever to heal ( that's if it does). So I know where you are.

The reason your dog keeps scratching the wound is because it's healing. Unfortunatley, this act inhibits the healing process and opens up the scab that has aleardy been formed leaving a fresh wound in its wake.

My recommendation is that you get a fly repellent plus healing oil and spray several times a day to keep the flies away and aid wound healing. Also, (if you are successful and your dog doesn't tear it off the first day), get an Elizabethan Collar and keep it on your dog for the duration of the wound healing. This will prevent your dog from being able to reach his ears.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Nice write up vet! Indeed they are touching dog chronicles. However, I have few questions for u. I have an adult male rotter man(dobberman*rot) and of recent I just bought a 9weeks brindle boerlboel. I have been advise not to let their 2 bond together as it might av an adverse effect on my little bb baby tasha. Thou my rotter man is friendly but very playful and his kind of play are just too rough and hard. Now these are my questions.

1. Does bounding thier 2 together make my little pup a very friendly dog too when eventually he turns to an adult as the rotterman is over friendly?
2. I observe the rotterman always try to climb (mate) the pup even when he knows poor tasha is still a baby. Pls vet with ur vasatile experience what does this means?
3. Should I stop my little pup from playing with the adult? (N/B my pup is always bored when ever she is alone but very lively when with Blacky my rotter man).
4. How do I make tasha my pretty girl less friendly so as not to make the mistake I made while grooming blacky?
5. At what age can I start caging my little doll?

Below are pictures of my little doll TASHA and my rotterman BLACKY.
Thanks in anticipation of ur kind response..

Spoiler Alert: If you hate heart-warming stories; have no intention of laughing out loud or you are simply not in a mood to feel good and learn a few things, then go no further.

If not, then get ready to fall in love with dogs (all over again or for the first time, as the case may be) Babasoji Awe is the quintessential dog lover and his interview is so amazing.

As usual here is the link:

Hello,

Thanks for reading. With respect sir, it's only a magician that can tell you what's wrong with your dog this way. You need to visit a vet and have your dog properly examined and diagnosed.

Kindly let me know how it goes. I wish your puppy quick recovery.

Cheers!

2) When i make crushed noodles mixed with fish gills for her , she immediately have watery stools, what could be the cause of this? But she eats rice with no problem at all and her stools becomes normal
3) i have dewormed her

Today's Question: Does Your Pet Have a Medical Record?

Did you know that over 59, 000 people DIE from RABIES each YEAR? With 90% being from AFRICA and ASIA?

To give some perspective, that's ONE person every 9 MINUTES!

Today is World Rabies Day. The theme this year is ZERO BY 30. This means that the goal is to have ZERO human deaths from RABIES by 2030.

Seeing as Rabies has been wiped out in the UK, (except for a few bats) this feat is POSSIBLE!

Did you also know that 99% of all human rabies death worldwide is caused by exposure to RABID DOGS?

Do yourself and the world some good today, ENSURE your DOGS and CATS are VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me. Let's make the World, Rabies-Free!
