What a load of crap. You think the white man's knowledge is superior to yours because you are black? Well, tell your superior thinking white folks to kindly explain how Egyptian pyramids were built and how pharaohs were mummified with inferior black race knowledge
I don't mean to sound immodest, but you lack comprehensive skill, atleast as regard English language. Go over my post and read again. The whites have no doubt gone far ahead of the blacks, with that i mean in terms of technological advancement, educational advancement, health advancement, and so many other aspect..........what my initial posts depicts was someone who had gone through a path, had witness the rough side of the path hence, he articulated it in form of an educational system and went further to internet service to help you get assess to this article for the betterment of you and humanity in general.
.
Consigning Egypt, Pharaoh etc, your point on that is incoherent, I cant even place a finger on where you stand on the argument or post.

well making it in life is relative, when one thinks he has achieved but all that he used years to achieved was achieved in a year by another person at a very relatively younger age. However I am not rich neither am I poor. By God grace the whole struggle started after secondary school. I did not make my o-level result and there was no money in the family. My father had two wives and plenty children so basically I was depending on my mother. life was so difficult when my mother shop was attacked by armed robbers and they carted away all the goods, which left my mother in serious debt. mother wanted to kill herself, but sometbody prevented from doing so. she latter left for Lagos doing all kind of menial jobs to feed us and send us to school. after secondary school I got a job with a salary of 1k per month that was 1999/2000. I was not pleased with the work as I was employed as clerk but I work mostly as house boy. I latter registered myself in a lesson with my savings and sat for GCE exam, after many attempts again I made my o level. I proceeded to FED POLY EDE I did computer science and by GOD grace I made upper credit. I worked for myself during one year I.T as all the work I got were not okay. After the I.T i went back to the polytechnic for my HND though i was not really happy with that option. fortunately for me i was called for an interview from one outsource company that employ people and seconded them to banks as contract staff. I was employed and it was big a relief for me and my loving mother as i was able to place her on monthly allowance and take care of her properly. I asked her to stop all kinds of work she was doing then in Lagos. i latter lost the job due to my carelessness. I latter got another JOb in a better bank and to practise computer proper. I was able to use this opportunity to complete my education as i enrolled for Bsc program part time. by God grace i built my own 4-bed room flat, married with two kids. currently I am working as full staff in another bank and doing well. not rich and not poor you get it. ALL is by God grace and Hard work. so many things in between sha.

I frown at young people when they say their mum or dad was placed on a monthly salary probably because you hit a jackbot or got a job....honestly you're not helping them neither are you helping the family instead give them a reasonable financial support either by setting up a good business or boost the already existing business or whatever the person is doing to help ease the family burden.....this is another mistake we young guys make....even on the long run when realities of life sets in you will realize the money is no longer enough for the pressing needs in the family and life generally....this mistake has really set alot of guys back....anyways, na my advice be that....experience na the best teacher sha

if you are unemployed i will advise just learn any skill and start promoting it online don't waste time to argue in politic section of nairaland or other social platforms over politicians or entertainers. Always putting content online after some time people will notice you and money will start flowing.
You are just right about this...... One need to spend more time on improving oneself instead of wasting one's time in arguing on politics and starting e-fights on romance section.

nice one

More people who aim for the same thing you're aiming for have degrees or were pursuing a degree at some point.

You too would have probably been like them if you did the same. It is no coincidence that they have degrees or pursued a degree at some point... and for them to have done so, they must have at least had an O'level Certificate or its equivalent.

...but like you said, different strokes for different folks.

Honestly, it would definitely take more than a text page to give a well detailed explanations of how i made it and eventually found a place and carved a niche for myself in the society. As a young man in the university studying Electrical/Electronics Engineering 2004-2009, I never really appreciated the need for skill acquisition outside of my field of study though I did Basic computer appreciation training before my admission finally came through then after my admission I was posted to kebbi State for my NYSC, while in the camp I tried to identify with almost all the organisations that visited us there either for skill acquisition or training of any sort which was considered relatively cheap, so unknowingly to me that MDG WAP agro entrepreneurial scheme was going to invite us for a training in Abuja Kubwa camp, so, after the training I applied for a loan of 250k knowing fully that my NYSC was going to be the collateral but I decided to take the maximum risk because I was so afraid of coming back home to beg for support, so came back and set up my poultry farm on a small scale in a corner of our rented apartment and also used part of the money to acquire a CAD program skill and a cheap laptop also. Behold after 6months of this programs I was invited for an interview which I passed and immediately got employed...to cut it short, today I can proudly tell the world that I made a repayment of that loan after 2yrs and have also built a house for my parents and I must say that I may not be too rich but I count myself very successful because I have conquered so many fears and made my family so proud....
Your story touched me bro

Some people who aim for the same thing actually ended up dropping that dream only to embrace salary job cos their certificate can get them some monthly pay, they soon forgot that they had a better dream once in life, before they knew it they were married with kids, still on salary, they couldn't pursue the billion dollar idea again as demands from family and life is eating them up...

Well, it worked for some and didn't work for others.

As for me I have never for once regretted not pursuing academics. I have read books and countless artucles on almost everything in life. I can lecture some graduates even. I am not blowing my trumpet tho.

Different strokes for different folks still...

I have not made it in life until I become a billionaire in dollars.

Why did I say this?

My goal since I was in SS2 as a 16 year old boy who stumbled on Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad was never to proceed to higher institution after I learnt that becoming very wealthy or successful can not be gotten with certificates.

As at the age of 20 I already had 2 handwork: Bricklaying (Which I learnt from my father) and plumbing (enrolled as a plumbing apprentice and graduated cos of the passion I have for it) With this skill I was able to earn some income which I later invested in some internet business that fetched me something big. At the age of 22 I made my first million naira, had a registered business, an office with 2 other partners. We were doing strictly internet business. Online payment merchant, e-currency, made some money via Google adsense etc. At the age of 24 I became broke and lost my business, went back to become a burden to my bricklayer father, one of the partners betrayed me. I learnt the hard way and moved on.

At 24 I started learning programming, read and watched tutorials like my life would end soon while still doing some internet businesses. At 26 I started getting web jobs and things started getting better.

Now I am 30, I am building my own house, I have 3 sources of income. As an internet entrepreneur I have apps and websites that will soon make me a billionaire in dollars.

I didn't further my education. I have been inside of a higher institution just twice when I went to visit a friend and when I went to conduct a seminar. I didn't even pass my WAEC. I have helped students of computer science with their school project severally.

My goal since I was 16 has been to become a billionaire in dollars without going to school. So I have not made it in life until I achieve this.
Kindly help a brother cos we share same goals.

I just finished my nysc

Thanks in advance

Does that sound strangehuh All the participants that applied for that loan used their NYSC certificates as collateral but were given a letter of reference pending when the loan is finally paid back then you will be given your Original certificate. You can still make your findings....only if the programme is still sustained

The only thing university add to u outside scholastic knowledge is change of mindset and general view of ur society . And this will come as a result of mixing up with ppl from different background nd culture. Eg, my friend David Daniel thought me how to think like a rich man when he was my room mate in 100L . I dropt in my 200 level even as the best student in my department then. I was not seeing any future in the chosen choice of discipline. My verdict is this : Follow ur heart. The only limit to were you can reach in life is that limit set in ur own imagination and not UNIVERSITY OR DEGREE
