No fewer than 42 men allegedly involved in homosexual acts have been arrested by the police.

It was learnt that the suspects were rounded up at a hotel at Weigh Bridge in Owode Onirin area of Lagos State on Saturday.


Information made available was that the hotel, Vincent Hotel, where they were caught in the act had been sealed off.

A resident of the area, who gave his name only as Tunji, said policemen from the Owode Onirin Division swooped on the suspects around 3.30 pm.

He said, “There have been reports that the hotel harbours homosexuals. They were there this afternoon when policemen struck. About 40 of them were caught in the act.”


The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the arrest.

He added that the suspects had been handed over to the state task force for prosecution.

He said, “It is true. About 42 suspected homosexuals were arrested and the hotel has been condoned off while investigation continues. They are in custody of the Lagos State Task Force and will be charged to court soon.”

this is a violation of their fundamental human rights.
there's nothing really a gay can do to change his natural sexual inclination; it is embedded in their dna. so, i dont condemn them at all. even gorrilas have gays among them. this thing is natural, people. you can call it an aberration if you like but then it is their nature.

There are always outliers in mammal populations and these are the homosexuals, asexuals, bisexuals etc..

It's not going to fade away as long as populations keep growing they'll be in the increase too,its plain unrealistic to try to reduce them because they are inevitable..unless we keep building new prisons and aiming for strict population control.

If it's a psychological ill, can anyone identify the improper brain state and if so correct it..if we were to even say for the sake of argument it's psychological the only proper treatment would be acceptance therapy at best because all other treatments would either damage the psyche more or make the subject suicidal.

if it's a crime, who's right is being violated? If there's a violation of rights under homosexual sex it would either fall into rape or molestation.. For those wanting to classify it as a crime against nature go take a look at your homonoidae family tree..and I'm not talking about ape cousins but actual human ancestors.. And taking it more from there if it's a crime against any God then it would be a personal issue not a state one as religion is mostly a personal thing and we as a country don't have a state religion..

For those fearing the gay apocalypse(gaypocalypse ) why not educate yourself with the knowledge that homosexuality if it were to be classified under a pathogenic disease(which is false because it's not pathogenic but let's move on) would have to be spread by heterosexual people to propagate so we straight people are "safe".. lol.

Homosexuality, just like fornication and adultery, is evil.
Secondly, operation or ownership of brothels are penalized under sections 223, 224, and 225 of the Nigerian Criminal Code. Commercial sex work is not legalized in Nigeria.

homosexuality is not same as fornication and adultery or having a high urge for sex.

these people are naturally attracted sexually to same sex, and no amount of sermonizing and condemnation by the church and the state will change who they are. it's just like trying to change a straight guy to become a gay whose natural preference is to have sex with a woman. do you get it now?

besides, evil is subjective, you frown at having sex outside marriage and call it fornication because the bible and your church fathers say its evil. but i see safe sex as healthy, whether done within marriage or not.
the only real sins are injustice and stupidity, and the nigerian govt is guilty of these.

You seem not to get my point. Religion aside, being attracted to same sex is same as being attracted to opposite sex. The urge is same. Same sex attraction has existed since time immemorial. That said, biologically speaking, it is an abnormality in human development.

The Church has no issues with one being gay as long as the individual does not promote homosexuality openly. The problem is trying to de-evilize what the Church considers evil and it is not exclusive to homosexuality alone.

Evil is not subjective. Evil is evil regardless what individual or society thinks of it; reason why holocaust victims got justice.
@bolded, sex outside marriage is considered evil because the creator of man considers it so. It is neither the bible authors' nor the church fathers' rules. And guess what, the creator himself endowed us with freedom to consider and act otherwise if we so wish. That shouldn't be one's headache, should it? In the end, justice will prevail.

i see that 'evil', from your standpoint, is whatever the bible calls a sin, regardless of whether it is logical or not, or makes for a more civilized society or not. i mean, civilized in terms of tolerance and respect for harmless individual differences.

so, you see, evil can mean different things to different people. And, in as much as i appreciate some moral standards set in rhe bible and other religious works, i dont beleive they are not man made and, therefore, should be subject to review as we evolve and advance.

Tell me what's illogical about what the divine law says of evil and sin. And don't get it twisted, Christianity teaches tolerance amongst other virtues. Even what we regard as civil moral ethics are just mere footnotes to the Sermon on the Mount.


You are making a case for subjective morality worldview which only exists in an atheist's imagination. You can't live such worldview out.
