You are hundred percent right. I attended FG college in mid 80s in the SS. School father was Hausa. School son was Fulani. Have friends from almost all the tribes in Nigeria. My closest friends are from all over the country. We don't hate ourselves as they want us to believe. When my wife had our second baby, I received the most gifts from my Yoruba friends. I have too many yoruba friends that are unbelievably more brotherly to me than some people from my village.

We all spend xmas in my village and have so much fun as guys. I hate how we are being represented as a people here. We have our differences but I have no doubt that Nigerians love themselves a lot. If you ever lived abroad, you would realize that we are not as divided as we think. That is not to say that we are as united as we can be.

On the other hand, if dividing Nigeria will make each group progress, I am not afraid of it. Nigeria is not working as it is right now, and those benefitting from the status quo like it that way.The political elites.

There is so much injustice. Nepotism is killing Nigeria. Even corruption is tied to nepotism. We see Nigeria from our tribal viewing glasses. Igbo first. Yoruba first. Hausa first, etc. If given the choice, I will prefer a united, fair and just Nigeria. Where your residency will determine what you get or don't get, and not where we still talk of state of origin.

We need a patriotic leader. A true Nigerian without tribal and religious biases. A man of the people and for the people. For now, all we have are charlatans. Thieves and demagogues.

I am wondering what has happened to the Yoruba people that I used to admire for their boldness and zeal for social justice.
Gani Fawemini, Woke Soyinka, even From Falana, and so many more that I cannot remember by name, were gallant crusaders against the evil and murderous military dictatorship of our recent past.

Bro with all due respect you are a liar.. I am from igbo,i do not hate yoruba people and was never thought by my mom, dad or anybody to hate yoruba people. In fact my own n enjoyed playing yoruba records. I attend a church whose founder is a yoruba man, the presiding pastor of the United States branch I attend in ph is also yoruba n I love them both. . The mistake dat ojukwu did during d Biafra war in 1967 is about to repeat itself. Biafra troop was advancing towards Lagos after dey had captured Midwest with d sole aim of capturing Lagos. Dey were push back and slaughtered like bush meat at Ore by the Nigeria troop. Now Nnandi KANU is planning to advance to Lagos after he has capture all of Biafra land.
