Lakeside79:LIES..... Majority of IGR comes from people working traceable Jobs like Gov't employees, ad local SMEs And from the nigerian chamber of commerce and Industry, the SW has by far the largest number of small and medium sized enterprises in the country. Who told you things like Import duties are part of IGR? When did Nigerian Port Authority become a state owned parastatal? LOOL! |

| Re: Adeosun: 55% Of Nigeria’s VAT Is From Lagos by omohayek: 7:30pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
neoOduduwa:Actually, even this figure overstates how much Lagos relies on the FG. Remember that LASG gets none of the business taxes paid by Lagos-resident companies, or the levies raised from the Lagos ports, and if those were accounted for, they would be far greater than the 178 billion the state gets in allocation money. |

Efewestern:Efe, sorry to burst your bubble; Lagos can't go broke for anything in the world. We are talking about the heart of Nigeria here. This is the problem of the back man, we have this problem because our mind is fixed on importing. The port at Onne is still there, that of Warri is non functional but I pray they don't fix it anytime soon because the stupìd, ill trained elements we have in Delta state would threaten the FG via the port as what is obtainable with refineries. True, the success of Lagos is solely not that of a tribe but the bigger truth is that Lagos is the way it is today is because of the SW folks who have judiciously utilised what they and paved way fro baby Ogun to become the industrial hub of the country. |

kn23h:Lol. You see the ignorance I'm talking about. It is people like you that were wondering where Comet star, Maydon and Decees E international (relatively unknown traders) got more than $1M each to settle Evans as ransom. What is $1M revenue per annum? Are u just kidding? Young boys in Idumota, Alaba, Trade fair etc who are not even known generate revenue more than that per annum. We own a pharmaceutical company which relatively I'd class a small player compared to those we compete with and I didn't include the name in my list above but we generate a monthly revenue in excess of N300M. What you do not know is more than you Bro. If you have a friend or relative who works for a bank branch located in oneb9f the markets, ask them to give you gist. |

sunnyb0b0:You see the level of ignorance I'm talking about? There are more young boys in Aba making fake gucci shoes, but why is the self-acclaimed JAPAN of Africa not generating enough revenue for the SE? Why can't these so called 'industrious' characteristic reflect on SE IGR? I've said it, one Yoruba company. Honeywell, makes more revenue than all these small small companies you're mentioning. These huge Yoruba companies pays more taxes to FG than all SE states. |
