This is so touching. Knowing she has dementia, you coulda made her some sort of memory pack. Mementos attached to and grounding her to her identity including introductory videos, audios etc on her phone and little note-cards to be carried alway in her purse. Even locket chains with her name, kids names, hers and your permanent home addresses with phone numbers engraved on it would've helped.

Adam Sandler's valiantly creative efforts at helping Drew Barrymore's Amnesia in that great Romantic-Comedy classic, 50-First Dates Movie, so comes to mind now!

To lose a spouse this way would be so heart-breaking and lacking in any sense of closure at all; May God aid her speedy return IJN, amen. If you ever get her back, make sure you don't lose her again.
