Lagos Emergency Response Works; Saved A Life - True Story by shyman(op): 12:16pm On Aug 06, 2017
About two weeks ago, my uncle was ambushed by robbers who left him for dead somewhere on the island... The good part is someone saw his condition and called Lagos emergency response at about 2pm "most people think they are a joke... Well, they ain't ".
They got to the location asap and applied first aid treatment then conveyed him to several clinics that turned him down until they got to LASUTH by 8pm. LASUTH admitted him and thankfully he survived..

I don't know who that good Samaritan was that made that call... The call that saved a life.. I say #ThankYou... Most people would have turned a blind eye... No one wants to get associated with a criminal case especially with the false stories of incriminating yourself circulating..
PS: toll free emergency number - 112

Another great thanks goes to the Medical Emergency team.... Those guys are wonderful.. They spent their whole day taking care of someone they don't know... While with him in the van, they were a source of hope.. With the bad experiences I've had with the medical sector.. I was shocked to my bones to see their conduct.
I wish I could put up their names and pictures... my heart is really filled with gratitude..

There are alot of negativity about our conduct as Nigerians and there have also been good reports which means there's hope.... We can redeem our image...

True, they're very responsive. God bless the person that put the call through.

The Lagos State emergency is superb. I've called them several times with quick response. From the call agent to the rest of the team deserves national award.

Thank you Fashola for the innovation.

Hope other states will follow too.

I think hospitals that reject emergency patients should have their license revoked with the hospital shut down.
The least any hospital should don is to stabilize the patient before transferring them to a better equipped hospital.
what's the essence of opening a clinic if they can't perform the most basic tasks that trained paramedics in a mobile bus are able to do.

Wow God bless the good Samaritan, God bless the emergency response team, God bless Nigeria. As least with this kind of awareness and responsiveness from the emergency team one can call in times of need. 112 is a reality.

It doesn't matter. The fact remains that who ever made the call saved a life and to me that's what really matter now
Re: Lagos Emergency Response Works; Saved A Life - True Story by Master19:
Well done to the paramedic team. I wish this can be replicated in every part of the country. But unfortunately the poor address system amongst other factors will be a hindrance.

NCC should step in and enforce our network provider to liaise with mobile paramedic initiative of Nigeria, red cross, NEMA e.t.c to step up our emergency response in this country.

Pardon me ,
Was there a time Nigeria was GREAT?

All I know from history is that starting from Colonial days, rate of disorliness has increased... Even the order that seems to exist at first can in no way pass for greatness.

Thanks

I have been hearing great news about the action of these people.
Kudos to those faceless super heroes, Kudos to our boys sacrificing their life for us in the North East (Operation Doley)

It's people like you, and comments like yours, that deter others from lending s helping hand to those in distress. Why can't people think positively?
Re: Lagos Emergency Response Works; Saved A Life - True Story by claremont(m): 2:19pm On Aug 07, 2017
They are paramedics, it's their job to treat casualties. If they do not do the job they are trained and paid for, it's a dereliction of duty.

We must blame our corrupt leaders for the situation we are in, were we find a need to praise people for doing a job they are being paid to do. The Lagos state emergency model can be replicated nationwide, but corrupt leaders would rather embezzle the money than provide emergency healthcare to their electorate. How hard is it to provide well-trained paramedics on a 24 hour shift pattern, available via a toll free number?
