This is another angle that I always laugh about.....Self determination....Okay. Lets say today they get self determination, who will be the leaders in the Niger Delta....is it no the same people who holding senatorial, governorship, counselor positions right now......

People that do not care now....do you think they will now start caring when self determination is given.........

The problem is in the leadership.......hold those leaders by the balls and they will be the one running to Abuja to get things done in their backyard.....A Governor, Local government chairman, counselor will sit down in his office forming boss...when his people are suffering desperately....and we will be pointing fingers to some far off government....they should put their leaders on their toes
The Igbos are pushing strongly for self determination under mazi Nnamdi kanu the question is, is he a politician (No).aside from the fact that he uses abusive words on other ethnic group I can tell u for a fact that most people from other ethnic group support him because he came out to say what everyone has been meaning to say BT to afraid to. And the ND will hold those leaders account when they are on their own, they won't blame abuja, southwest or south east. for their leaders have no reason not to be accountable.

Does the Niger Delta not have representation at the Federal level....what are their senators doing, what are the governors of those states doing, what are their counselors doing and local government chairmen doing....

These are the people that they should hold to get things done for them......complaining to their fellow Nigerians or posting on Nairaland who are also facing neglect from government is not going to solve anything......

And when we say government, who exactly is responsible to get the cleanup done....don't they have names, don't they have addresses....

We just keep channeling our anger in the wrong direction.....if there are elders chopping the money...do the youth not know their addresses.......

We just all sit back and think someone somewhere will solve our problems for us...we need to take initiatives in the right direction
Are they the only ones in the national assembly, they can only put forth a motion or whatever those guys do up there. they can force the rest assembly member to support the motion.
what will the north gain from the clean up ( Nothing ) so they won't support
what will the south west gain from the clean up( nothing)
what will the south east gain from the clean up( Nothing)
as far as this other region does not take it seriously and the cash flow is not stopped. the real clean up will never ever come.
But in their own country or a country shared with just one of the 3 major ethnic group they can lobby for the clean up and the motion will set sail perfectly. they can't heal the land even with restructuring and they can't push for self determination on their own.

What's the reason for blowing up pipelines? Is it not because of negligence of oil producing communities who suffer due to oil exploration activities in their domains? Have you traced the origin of oil spillage? Did it originated from oil exploration or pipeline bombing?
D point here is that pipeline bombings contributes to the mess in the delta. It doesn't help the contamination problem on ground.

That's why I wrote what I did but you insist you don't need enlightment when you clearly do.Hydrocarbon formation is a continuous process ie it will never stop as far as there is life on earth .The same was said of coal . The coal at Enugu are still there rather technology mo ed on . In as much as technology still deem crude relivant the situation is same . There forever will be crude in them areas the only IF is if cheaper sources are discovered as seen not long ago in the UK and US .

Really? Why then do wells dry up? Oga, Niger Delta oil will finish. Stop spreading jargons.

Crude reserves were accumulated over a long period of time and nearly all of it will be produced in about 150 years give or take.

On point!

Pipeline vandalisation is a major contributor.

Shell,Chevron, mobil etc, operate in other countries without so much devastation to the environment.

is that all you can come up with?, are the youth the ones causing the spillage?

I remember all of you laughing at those cautioning NDA (Niger Delta Avengers) when they were bombing pipelines. I think you have now become environmentalist too grin grin grin

Abeg nothing concern Nigerians joor. Avengers should resume bombing in September.
Re: Photos Of Oil Spillage In Niger Delta Communities by honeychild(f): 10:24pm On Aug 23, 2017
legislatively:
no one bombed pipelines in ogoni and ilaje, the federal government in conjunction with the oil companies refused to do clean-up.
The case is the same in most part of nigerdelta

Stop talking about what you don't know. A lot of oil spills are the result of vandalism. They actually cut open those pipes to sipphon oil.

You worked with lazy people ok
Is it a LAZY JOB ? ??
Let me make u understand how lazy ur people are..
Every service company that works on the field are mandated to employ 4 indigenes (2 skilled, 2 unskilled) from the community per job operation and those indigenes are paid..from all my experiences, they never want to learn. They will never show up to be trained.. They will blab with their entitlement mentality, that they are landlord's. when its time for payment they will show up... Every company that visits the field/rig , mandates Their CLO to pay a required levy prior to going to the field. When we get to the field, a fresh set of levy is imposed.. All these money go to a selected set of disgruntled lazy individuals..
Long story cut short.. Ur people are pretty lazy!!

Urhobo spillage, isoko spillage, itshekiri spillage and ijaws Master of bunkery, I know spillage happen but most of the spillage caused by damaging of pipeline by bunkerer. Most of places in Niger delta water way are full of crude oil and their brothers and sisters knows that activities of bunkery is affecting their fishing especially those of fisherman but they can says anything. One ijaw man said no fish for water I now asked him why he said the crude dey pursue the fish, I said who cause it he said nah our brothers that engaged in bunkery, I said but why can you organised fishermen's like you and talk to them, he said hummmmmm, then go kill us, I just look at him and shake my head, who re you to blame government or security.,nobody. Sometimes they should blame themselves. If it real spillage the company will come there very fast and lock the pipeline and clean the spillage. Almost all the communities in Niger delta get cooking camps, where they cook crude to diesels and kerosene. When you come to Niger delta you will know most of things am saying

The solution to the niger delta problem is simple.the 13 percent derivation should be sent directly to the oil producing communities and no more to the lootful governors.if 5billion derivation is given to bayelsa, the entire 5billion or half of it should be shared to each community to develop itself.each community would now set up a town union comprising of the king, chiefs and all the families in that community.half of the money disbursed to each community would be used to provide basic amenities and tackle oil spill/envirinmental issues caused by exploration.the other half would be shared equally among all the families in that setting.an fg committee would monitor these communities.at least 25 percent of allocations given to nddc and niger delta ministry should also go to these localities.the utilization of the fund would be monitored by the fg.if after two years meaningful progress is made, then the derivation should be increased to 20 percent.i think this would solve the niger delta question once and for all.

This is a really terrible sight to behold I believe a lot should be done for the Niger delta States. Especially in the case of oil spillage and cleaning of the already affected areas. I also think that the southern governors should be held more responsible for the 13% derivative and other allocations they get as much as the federal government and the oil producing firms operating in the area.
Water is a major natural resource and when it's polluted like this, it leaves a lot to be desired.

I have been reading about oil spillage in books and internet with disinclination until I travelled to Emago Kugbo and its environs and I spent hours in the sea and other riverine communities in Abua LGA of rivers state and now, each time I retrospect my experience I feel like crying and cursing our leaders. These people are in a terrible condition which I lack words to describe. Oil spillage is a serious situation that deserves emergency response.

I don't think u understood my comment and I'm from ogun restructuring means giving states control of their resources without any interference from the federal government now tell me if they carry on with this how many states can survive on their own it is only a scheme to make some certain governors more powerful
I see why you don't want restructuring because your parasitic state will find it difficult to survive. You can only depend on the ND oil for survival. Take it or leave full restructuring will take place
