My point here is simple. There are schools in Europe that are cheaper and better than Nigerian university. About job, that's a different kettle of fish.

Besides, not everyone go abroad to work after studies. Some create business, advance their studies to other countries, or whatever plans they have. And yes, Many do get jobs, marry the locals and create a life for themselves in Europe. You're seeing it from a very limiting perspective.

Furthermore, Nigerian graduates do not have a readily available job waiting for them after studies. If it was me, I'll pick Lithuania anyday than to study in a glorified high school called university in Nigeria.

It would be an astounding success for CU to rise over 21,000 higher institutions in the world to make top 1000(top 5%) in such a short while without having additional funding from government. The vast majority of universities in top 1000 are very old. Even the very old UI could only make it in for the first Time in it's existence last year or so. Kalsruhe institute of tech(Germany) became uni in 2009 ranks 144 in the world and 50th in technology.
Each of this school is at least 7 years younger than your over praised CU.age isn't an excuse

If you read my initial post you would see clearly that i remarked that CU's funding comes majorly from private funders unlike most of the universities you listed up there which are heavily funded by govt.
Secondly, the initial comparison was for Nigerian universities and not a global comparison because up till this point, no West African university except for University Of Ghana and University of Ibadan has made top 1000 rankings. So it is understandable that most young private universities globally have a slower break in to top 1000. I have no doubt whatsoever that CU would be on both rankings(THE and QS) by 2018 and i admit that it ought to have been there sooner.

With NUC accrediting more universities the tuition of most private universities would reduce further. I just hope some of these private unis would still exists in 15 years time. One wouldn't want to go to a school that would crash 5 yrs later after someone has graduated. U go explain to employer tire

It would simply be taken over and converted to a public institution but that won't be good for education in Nigeria considering the big number of of institutions that they government already face difficulty in managing.

Well, almost everyone is proud of their university...right from Covenant students to UI students to IMSU students...they mostly all feel their respective universities are the best in Nigeria (for reasons best known to them).
That said, I'm intrigued by this your Afe Babalola comparison. Why do you feel it is better?
It's under consideration for me, though I've already passed CU's preliminary exam.
