fasttrack:

Some parts of Houston is fine. Just that all stores are closed, but am very certain once the airport is open then you ll be fine

Actually, it's pretty bad here. A few streets here and there are not flooded but you're pretty much stuck in 'dry islands' and you can't go far because of the pervasive floods. The airport may open but remember water levels still have to go down considerably before you can get around freely; power may still be out in some areas, etc. Rain should stop Friday, but there's more rain forecast next week. It's a rapidly changing situation (another dam just started over spilling this morning, and it's not clear where that water is going to go). All to say, keep monitoring, and if at all possible consider getting a plan B, like another close by location; just in case. Hopefully it gets better soonest.

Hi All,
Can anyone help me with contact information for John H Stroger hospital in cook county Illinois. I have called and called, each time they keep transfering me from one person to another. The closest i have come is to one of the doctors and he said one has to be a resident.
Any good information would be appreciated.

J.h. stroger won't give you any correspondence until you get there in person. If you need one, pick up ur phone and start calling other hospitals in Chicago. Trust me you would get but might jst be difficult.

Hello house,

Please I have a quick question about Visa On Arrival. A friend applied for it and got a response but she said it says Business Visa. Just want to ask others if this is the norm? Thanks in advance.

Hello mamas in the house. Atlanta mamas please I need your help. I am the US already and I want to change my hospital from Piedmont to Grady. Does anyone know or have Grady correspondence? Secondly, please I need US/Atlanta bound mamas help. I need two packs of tetmosol soap. I will fully bear the cost. Thanks in advance

Why the change? I learnt grady does not have self pay rates. Anyway, you can go there in person and ask.

Hmmmm, hope I'll be able to get a hotel that's 'dry' without much hassle, although I'm also wondering how the roads from the airport are..I guess I have to wait and see...

People have been evacuated from their homes. Hospitals are flooded. Madam better stay in atlanta and change hospital. Houston is going to be a mess for a long while.

Im here to report emory ooo. Make una warn them, they can charge you for toothpick. That's how i hot fresh bills last week for the pathologist that examined baby placenta. Biko i had baby in may oo.
-also got one last week too 816 from children's healthcare atlanta for pedatrician. Total extra bill is approx 1000.

This is after paying a couple of bills for false labour before delivery and for ER visit when i was sick after delivery back in May. If Emory sends me one more bill after this new batch they're on their own.

Rant aside: now that im experienced, make una ask your hospitals if false labour is included in your package. As well as paedatricain bill estimate, to avoid all these stories that touch. If possoble ask them if any postpartum visit sef is included.

Welcome to America... soon we'll be billed for breathing in the vicinity of a hospital.

so sorry, i'm just seeing this. You can leave the date empty until when the baby arrives.
maideyz:

Is it not possible you fill nd get it notarized without putting the date.?you can always put the date with a black pen when you sure of the date of birth. Just thinking

Hello house!
I have shared visa and Poe experience so it's time to share my birthing experience.
I stayed in Michigan till a week to my EDD before I left for Chicago
I had my LO on Wednesday 19th of July in Chicago. A day after delivery my LO's birth certificate was ready but cldnt get it till after I was discharged (I fast tracked it).I was discharged on Friday evening..went to vital records to get the BC. Had an appointment with the paediatrician On Tuesday after I was discharged and LO was certified okay...I got a fit to fly for my LO from the paediatrician cos I was gonna travel to NY and domestic airlines need certification for infants less than 14days to fly. Went back to Michigan on weds.

Called Qatar airways Customer Care to get my LO ticket and was charged $150.(note that I got my ticket from wakanow but booked LO directly)
Hubby mailed notarized form thru FedEx (I was very disappointed in their service) after several calls to them I eventually got the package on Saturday after which I left for the airport to board plane to NY.

On Monday I went to NY passport office very early as walk in and I met a very long queue...eventually after 5hrs I made it in and my passport was processed for $165 I waited to collect it...left there around 9pm. On Tuesday I sent a mail for visa on on arrival to the immigration and got a reply after 5 hrs..
On Wednesday, Got to the airport checked in all my over weight luggage (3 big luggages 2 for me and 1 for baby) no extra charges the guy was too nice, checked in baby stroller and car seat and my supposed overweight hand luggage..lol...
Had 9 hrs layover at Doha was lodged in a hotel...slept for 3hrs before we were taken back to the airport..got to naija on Friday morn..got my luggage and went to the visa on arrival section...paid $200 and I was given change of $10 lol...
I left NY
Hello House,
Please, has anyone used St. Mary's general hospital in New jersey or any general hospital for that matter. The reviews online are really bad but that's the only place my doctor uses. Just wondering if things are really that bad
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by zeezahra: 1:29pm On Aug 30, 2017
howdy cuties....please I need some info from u you...cos I'm also thinking Chicago...I don't know how to chat up with you...

Pls o I'm overwhelmed with baby care so might not be able to reply everyone...
For budget sheet send me an email.
For Qatar go to their website and click your location which is US and it will list the customer care no that you can call...I called and booked without LO's passport details...it's not needed..I paid with my GTB naija debit card which was done when I called..gave the CC agent my card details and I was debited and transit hotel reservation was also done on the spot..

For leaving 14 days...I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want anyone to bad mouth, discourage or gimme unnecessary advise.. what I needed was the airlines policy on the no of days an infant is fit to fly which is 14days old and also paediatrician's check up that my LOs is healthy that's all...
lol. Is this your first bill from CHOA? My wife just delivered earlier in the month and CHOA sent us 5hundred plus, though we negotiated to 3 hundred plus if we pay within 30 days.
As per Emory, was it after you got your zero balance that they sent these new ones again? Make Emory give themselves brain o
