They are not stupid at all. Like you, they celebrated such discoveries and announcement, they believed discovered cash and properties will be returned back to the FG, they also believed perpetrators will be prosecuted.

It's over two years now and they still hear this media discovery with no prosecution, stories of looted funds being returned yet the government borrowed over 10 trillions while not paying for subsidy.

Inflation must be factored in as constructions in dubai did not start yesterday.Iran alone invested up to 200 billion dollars in Dubai.
