CHIEF R. A. ADENIJI: Chairman/FOUNDER

Starlink Haulage Services started out of our quest and dire need for a standard haulage operation. Starlink Global & Ideal Limited being a major agricultural produce exporting Company in Nigeria cannot downplay the indispensability of haulage. Our annual produce purchase is about 7 billion naira and the movement of the produce from the hinterland to the ports cannot be left in the hands of incompetent haulage providers. This exigency prompted the Management to begin to prepare ground for the operation of haulage services to be independently run by logistics and haulage experts.

Today, Starlink Haulage Services is a leading haulage provider to corporate organizations within the private and public sectors of the economy. We provide efficient and effective haulage services across the country and we have set a very high standard of service in the industry. We are known for timely delivery which do not only save time but also go a long way to reduce unnecessary overhead cost.

With a fleet of 15 trailers and 4 tankers, our network covers the length and breadth of the country.

Service Option

For the convenience of our teeming customers, we offer a wide range of service options covering transportation of light and bulky loads across the North and South, West and Eastern parts of Nigeria. Our trucks are new model and fit for tough weather condition.

We offer:

Load and go for long distances.
Delivery within 24 hours for short distances.
Prompt availability of our trucks at the customer’s premises for convenient loading.
Truck hiring.
Safety

To ensure efficient service delivery and safety of loads, Starlink Haulage Services employ experienced drivers who are safety conscious. We also expose our drivers to constant training and retraining on road usage and safety measures. They are permanently banned from taking intoxicants especially when at work.

We have a crop of qualified engineers and technicians who handle our truck repairs and servicing. They give constant reports on the state of the trucks and recommend accordingly. All the trucks are road safety compliant.

To ensure adequate compensation in case of undesirable occurrences (damage to goods and accident), our trailers are covered by Goods in Transit (GIT) insurance policy.

Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin does not look like a tech geek. She is feminine, pretty with an easy-going smile. She is the founder/lead coordinator of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) with a mission to get more girls into the the tech world, by teaching them coding, and other ICT skills.

Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin is a social impact entrepreneur and founder of Pearls Africa Foundation an NGO focused on promoting technological advancement of vulnerable women and girls. She has over 12 years’ of experience in Information Technology Solutions. She is Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) and an Oracle Database Administrator (OCDBA) amongst others. Abisoye is a technology savvy, data analyst with a passionate heart for change and a strong will to make it happen.

Her NGO has 3 projects under its' hat: Girls-Coding, Empowered Hands, GirlsInSTEM and GC Mentors. Her objective is to equip young teenage girls with functional ICT skills, so they can attain economic independence, in the commercial world. These 10 – 17 year-old girls usually come from public schools, orphanages and other underserved disadvantaged communities with poor infrastructure and educational facilities. Pearls Africa promotes the advancement of young girls and women, (with more focus on vulnerable young girls living in under-served communities) by giving them training in technology, skill acquisitions, entrepreneurship, mentorship and Internship placements.

Pearls Africa has a community of young girls and women in the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field, who are taught various skills including ethics, leadership skills, self-empowerment/development, confidence, public speaking, self esteem which leads to economic independence.

One of the initiatives from Pearls Africa, is Girls Coding, which is an intense program for young girls, within the 10-17 years age range, living in underserved communities in Nigeria. It trains such girls in computer skills, robotics, software programing using HTML and Java, and also connects them to female mentors, and links them to tech companies for internship. It is a project that is being done in partnership with the US Mission in Nigeria.

Girls Coding, encourages its' female participants to make use of brain tasking puzzles from code.org and coderdojo to get started in the programme. Abisoye's vision in setting up this initiative, is to add 20,000 female programmers into the Nigerian tech eco-system, by the year 2020. By equipping these girls with these tech skills, Abisoye Ajayi believes it would empower them, because "an empowered girl will become an empowered woman, an empowered woman builds an empowered family, and an empowered family builds a powerful nation."

Through the Pearls Africa Foundation, Abisoye also established Lady Labs to serve as a space for girls from the poorest communities to get a functional I.T skill as well as a space for ladies studying computer science in tertiary institutions, to gain practical experience. It will also serve as a co-working space for female tech founders.

Olusola is strongly concerned about subjects such as unemployment and its economic impact, literacy, eradicating poverty and inspiring leadership, through the effective deployment and use of big data, mobility, social media and cloud technologies.

In 2014, Olusola Amusan, was appointed as the Head of Corporate Citizenship at Microsoft Nigeria, with the responsibility for driving all non-profit initiatives, social investments and impact oriented engagements for the subsidiary, within the larger Middle East and Africa group. He is also an author, conference speaker, trainer and local Development Professional - widely acclaimed as one of Africa’s Youngest Growth Consultants.

Before joining Microsoft, Olusola Amusan, had worked on projects involving the World Bank, Model UN, First Bank of Nigeria, Youth bridge Foundation Ghana, Zambia & Johannesburg, Schwarzkopf Foundation Germany, GIZ, Ashoka US as well as Entrepreneur Organization US. He currently studies at Philanthropy University, focusing on non-profit strategies for developing economies, and is also the current founder of Curators University. Amusan also ran his own firm Olusola Amusan Company (OAC), on the side, until he got the offer to work for Microsoft Nigeria.

I am Olusola Amusan, a Nigerian Serial Entrepreneur (Author, Corporate trainer, farmer, on-air personality, business coach and preacher) acknowledged as Africa’s Youngest Growth Consultant. I can trace that as far back as when I was 13 years old and I volunteered for an NGO (Life Vanguards) in high school. But before then, I had joined Society for Women and Aids in Africa, Nigeria (SWAAN) at age 9!

Though I did not know so much about social entrepreneurship at that time, I had to learn about contributing to society and helping others grow. The passion became stronger when I was asked to write an article on “Youth Insecurity in Africa: the way forward”. This led me to start my own organisation, YOUTHs Be Secured Foundation, Africa (YSFA) in 2005. It later evolved to SecureAfrica Initiative which is now the Olusola Amusan Company (OAC), with the central message of building SECURE people and business brands in Africa! Today, we have a training and growth consulting arm, a media arm with books/audio CDs and an Agro arm where we farm on about 25 Hectares of land, involving arables like maize and vegetables, and we are expanding. We now have offices in Akure and Lagos, Nigeria. https://under35ceo.co/2012/09/13/how-22-year-old-olusola-amusan-went-from-selling-toads-to-becoming-africas-youngest-growth-consultant/

I grew up in Modakeke, a community in Osun State. I am the first of four boys, born to a teacher father and a health records officer mother at the time. We lived in a small home, and had a precious stereo that got me hooked to the early morning news, radio dramas and several efforts by the Society for Family Health and the international community to fight HIV/AIDS. When I was seven, the Ife/ Modakeke crisis broke out again and this got my dad involved in peace- keeping work with UNICEF, and other agencies.

At the age of nine, I started volunteer work for the Society for Women and Aids in Africa and that was how it all began. Then I started attending community development workshops and volunteered at a youth development centre at the age of 11 through 13 years.

My path in life is laced with service and commitment to humanity’s advancement. Luckily, I work with an organisation that has that as its core. I presided over the 8th and 9th session of the African Youth and Governance Conference, an assembly of delegates from over 40 African countries- the network of forward thinking change agents, entrepreneurs and innovators.

After I joined Microsoft, I was nominated to sit on the country support mechanism in Nigeria, set up in partnership with the foreign affairs ministry. This work gives experience and a unique insight into what the real problems are in Nigeria and helps us to see and provide the needed support for Nigerians. http://punchng.com/im-a-self-development-junkie-olusola-amusan/

Currently Olusola Amusan, is working on a Rural School Makeover project to renovate for FREE, dilapidated schools in under-served African communities, starting from Nigeria.

As an author and radio personality, Amusan directly inspires thousands of people across the ethnic, religious and international divide, bridging gaps using his highly contagious personality. His Leadership Breakfast talkshow on 93.1 FUTA FM and Fulfilment today on Orange 94.5FM both reach an estimated 26,000 people every week. He prides himself in helping other people young and old, secure their future and become champions of their dreams.

Olusola Amusan, is a recipient of seven(7) awards including the prestigious (Nigeria) National Champion for the Global Student Entrepreneur awards, and Africa’s Youngest Growth Consultant award for branding the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He was nominated for both Future Awards and African Entrepreneur Awards, in 2012.

Afridext is an Ibadan-based startup looking to gamify the buying and selling of graphic designs

Afridext is an online marketplace where customers buy and sell high-quality graphic designs relevant to the African market at preferred prices.

Knowing how difficult it would be to drive sales in this ancient city or even survive in a seemingly saturated market, Oladipo along with his associates — Iyiola Peter and Damilola Oyebayo — opted for a more conventional model.

By setting off a kind of contest among graphic designers to win customers over by building and showcasing their best work, Afridext looks to gamify the buying and selling of graphic designs.

Femi Obagun - MD, Onward Stationery Stores Limited/Onward Paper Mill Limited

ONWARD STATIONERY STORES LTD
Is a limited liability company formed in 1953 by Chief M. Obagun. He started trading paper just after leaving school, at first buying locally before he began wholesale imports. Whenever he is in the mood and feels like recanting the story, one will know that the first type of paper he imported was NCR from a Norwegian company and this little transaction is what really started the journey of OSS.

In time he was able to build a team around him that shared his ideas of integrity, his vision and commitment to excellence. With people like Mr. Emmanuel Ogunsanya, his erstwhile managing diector, who worked with the company for 40 years.

OSS expanded into importation of many other paper products over the years and built a solid reputation for supplying quality paper products. In fact, the name Onward came to be closely associated with quality.

In time the OSS vision to become a topmost supplier of quality paper products expanded into manufacturing paper products. In 1973, Onward Paper Mill was birthed to manufacture stationery products like notebooks and envelopes amongst others. In 1989, Epesok paper mill was created to manufacture jumbo rolls and tissue products

Our strategic location at the heart of the biggest paper market in Lagos and possibly Nigeria ensures our customers are never too far from getting access to our papers and our warehouse in the same axis is big enough to accommodate paper stocks to satisfy our customers.

OUR VISION AND MISSION
It is not only to be seen as a value creating reliable paper supplier. We aim to build relationships with our customers sustained by understanding and responding to their needs whilst aiming for mutually benefical position always.

We also believe that a company is only as strong as its people, thus the proper welfare of our staff is also part mission and part strategic objective.

Currently, with the new team led by Femi Obagun, we are determined to not only preserve the legacy left to us, but also expand it by increasing and enforcing our market share and adhering to the old values of integrity, reliability and mutually benefical cooperation.

Great! wink Onward Paper Mills & Stationery Stores had earlier been profiled on page 206, too. They are the largest paper mill factory, in Nigeria. Has Kunle Obagun, now handed over the company to his brother, Femi Obagun?

Chief M.O Obagun established Onward Stationery Stores in 1953, as a retail outlet for paper, stationery supplies and writing accessories. With time, the business expanded. He started trading paper just after leaving school, at first buying locally, before he began wholesale imports, from a Norwegian company abroad.

Several years later, he decided to set up a plant producing large paper rolls, and newsprint for the print media. That plant was incorporated in 1972, and became known as Onward Paper Mill Limited (OPM). It was the very first indigenous paper converter to manufacture and market top quality stationery in Nigeria.

From pioneering paper conversion and manufacture of top quality paper products, OPM has become a leading name in the Paper/print product manufacturing sector of the nation. It is currently Nigeria's largest paper mill.

The firm's manufacturing capabilities are complimented by an ability to provide contract based consultancy services in print/paper inventory and logistics. They also manage their clients' print requirements including requisite analysis, annual projections, customization and brand enhancement, production, warehousing and even delivery to different locations, as indicated. They have in-house consultants who ensure that clients have a well-balanced, consistent print and paper product inventory process.

OPM’s uncompromising standards are based on quality, competitive pocket friendly prices and timely delivery, all in one neat customer-friendly package. Today, Chief M.O Obagun's son Kunle Obagun, sits at the helm of affairs at the OPM factory in Oregun in Lagos, as the Executive Vice-Chairman, to preserve the legacy of good business that his father started, and take it to greater heights. http://onwardstationery.com/about_us.php

Nothing makes me more angry on nl than this thread and I can only hope this overrated self serving thread dies a violent death (sia hyperbole )by getting deleted. It has serve its purpose and is worn out. You could argue over the 'superiority' of Yoruba as an ethnic group over other Nigerians, but how does Yorubas compares to other Africans let alone other ethnic groups from other non African countries.

Did y'all see the latest report about the educational standard in South West? What about GINI, HDI, growth forecast? These are what matters and not a celebration of a select few.
Anyways, Ignorance is a form of slavery. Wisdom begins with an awareness of ignorance. And although it is a fact that education is costly, ignorance is the only thing that is even costlier than education. The sooner Yoruba leaders realise this the better.

More than 80% UK A- level students achieved a minimum c+ in all subjects. How does that compares to the average Yoruba students (The future of Yoruba race)?

Perspective is needed ladies and gents.

Rants over.

Your confusion is understandable yet grossly misguided miss, considering that you're of Yoruba+Igbo parentage therefore I can see why you'll be feeling conflicted about which side to identify with. But you are dead wrong. Your Igbo brothers actually triggered the creation of this thread, when in their usual chest-beating fashion they opened a thread in which they we're running down Yorubas, claiming to 'dominate' and 'own' everything in Yorubaland, blah blah blah. This thread is for record-setting purposes and it's here to stay.

Firstly, open-mindedness is a virtue. In that vein, I am not sure how my comment showed a conflict of interest or bias. Projecting much?

I am aware of the context behind this thread and this doesn't justify the never ending comments being churned out of this thread. It has now gone beyond reinforcement of superiority into a self-serving nonsense. Anyways, the first 100 pages had already dealt the 'much necessary blow' to dispel any myth (from a perspective of Yoruba) projected in the other thread.

In the midst of challenges currently being faced by the great Yoruba nation, the energy and the number of comments shows a wrong priority IMO. There are simply more pressing issues that warrant the energies I am currently seeing on this thread. Each to their own I guess.

Smh, another example is this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/3941777/ibadan-pictures-development-fastest-growing/32#59950230
