Montage TV promises to offer a credible value proposition for the pay TV viewing market in the West African sub-region, by leveraging on cutting edge technology, and quality programme contents. Montage is being touted as an alternative to DStv. The MD/CEO states that the network is qualitative and affordable, as monthly subscription is pegged at N5,000 irrespective of the number of channels on its network. The cable TV station currently has 38 channels on its platform ranging from BBC, to Sports News( a sports station), Atmosfair (a rounded programme and documentaries channel), Atmosfair+ (which feature a variety of biographies and culturally stimulating African movies and series); Fightbox, (a unique sports channel dedicated to Judo, Taekwando, Karate and Sumo); and MTV Base. Others are Sky News, Fox Movies, African Movie channel, Amoreyo, a musical television channel, FOX Channel (i.e. FOX Movies, FOX Crime, Nat Geo Gold, Baby-TV, Setanta Africa, Setanta Action etc), Eurochannel, Trace music and Cubayo TV a destination for Latino music.

All their decoders come standard as Personal Video Recording (PVR) that record video in a digital format to a disk drive, USB flash drive or any other mass storage device. This allows their viewers the opportunity to record any of the programmes, which they could later view at their convenience.”

Adebayo Alonge has over 5 years of experience working in Nigeria’s healthcare industry, with roles in counseling and support of HIV patients, as well as marketing and distribution of pharmaceuticals. He is the founder of Lusoy Investments Limited, an organization that tests practical approaches to low cost generic drug distribution, with the aim of ensuring that Nigerians everywhere, can access quality medicines.

In 2013, the firm achieved a turnover of over four million naira, distributing medicines in rural Lagos. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Ibadan, a membership certificate from the Nigerian Institute of Management, and is currently studying for a fellowship and an MBA from the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy, and the Lagos Business School respectively. Upon completion of the Washington Fellowship, Adebayo intends to scale up his distribution business across western Nigeria, as well as roll out a retail pharmacy chain across the region.

"My business provides healthcare solutions, which include high quality pharmaceuticals. A recent study put the current level of substandard anti-malarial medicines in Lagos, at over 80 percent of anti-malarial medicines in circulation. If the level is that high in Lagos which has a high level of regulation, you can imagine how bad the situation is in rural areas, where many regulatory task forces never get to.

Many rural communities lack professionally run health facilities. Government owned primary health centres are often dilapidated with many of the staff not turning up at work. Nigeria has too few healthcare professionals, most of whom prefer to set up practice in urban centres whose inhabitants can pay higher rates for their services. This gap in healthcare provision has been led in rural communities by unscrupulous quacks that set up chemist shops where they double both as doctor and dispensers.

Most run non-sterile wards where they conduct minor surgeries. As these quacks aim to maximize profit, they make use of the cheapest medical supplies and medicines which they often sell at above market rates. Rural dwellers patronize them due to the absence of choice. There is no gainsaying the number of people who have died from these quack services." http://ruralreporters.com/adebayo-alonge-improving-access-to-quality-and-affordable-health-solutions-in-nigeria/

In order to improve the conditions of the healthcare system, concerned young people like Adebayo Alonge are taking the lead, working towards making sure that Nigerians have access to quality drugs. According to him, “Our (his company) emphasis is on ensuring that low income markets can afford healthcare solutions and we use a variety of means including cross-subsidies, contracts and donated outreaches to deliver
these solutions." Alonge is a member of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.

Finally, I’d like to mention a young man, Adebayo Alonge, MWF alumnus. He is in the health sector and counsels HIV patients, and distributes pharmaceuticals. He is the founder of Lusoy Investments Limited, an organization that tests practical approaches to low cost generic drug distribution to help the needy. During the Ebola virus breakout here in Lagos, he collaborated with the Lagos Business School to hold a week-long training for medical personnel using his contacts at YALE University. - Dehab Ghebreab, Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate Lagos. http://writeparagraphs..com.ng/2016/03/mwf2016-stroll-with-dehab-ghebreab.html

In 2010, Ayodeji Nubi graduated from the University of Leicester, UK and returned to Nigeria the following year, to start a law school programme in Lagos. Around this same period, he started making fresh fruit juices for his diabetic mother, regularly. As friends visited them at home, he would also serve them the fresh juice, and the feedback was amazing.

One day, a guest offered to pay for a delivery of the fresh juice. This triggered the idea of going into the production of variety of non-processed fresh juices and smoothies. Ayodeji soon partnered with Patrick, a friend from the University, to set up Eden Juice and the rest as they say, is history! Today, Eden Juice produces and supplies 10,000 bottles of fresh juice daily and employs 18 people.

Yoruba people are lost. This is why we cant have great leaders
I totally disagree with you.How can you have good leaders with the current structure and mess in this country? The truth is that Nigeria breeds corrupt, incompetent and metally lazy leaders. The political space has been hijacked by the elites and the political class who are in the minority by the way. These persons are the one enjoying the current mess and by the virtue of their greed, they have destroyed this country.Do you think these persons will allow the country to be restructured talkless of being divided ?This country is being held together by these elites and the oil in Niger Delta. That is why I laugh at those nigerians shouting one Nigeria despite living miserable lives.
If the Yorubas were independent,do you think the current shameless persons who parade themselves as politicians would be elected in the first place?
If Awolowo was around today,do you also think he would have been elected? There are several Yorubas who are brilliant than Awolowo but will not be given the chance because of the "Nigeria" factor.
You take the resources of Niger delta to be shared among other tribes which are not used well by way,but looted and shared among the political class across all tribes and you think the people of Niger delta are stupid.
Within the next twenty years, one young guy will emerge from that region through a brutal military coup and deal mercilessly with the elites, political class, friends and cronies in this country but unfortunately some poor citizens will be affected.
After this event, new politicians will emerge and break up this useless country to pieces.
Let those shameless Yorubas continue to shout one Nigeria, rather than tasking their leaders to set up the right polices on how to improve the education, health, agriculture and invest in sustainable sectors like infrastructures, mineral resources and having an effective tax codes across board to not only create employments for both skilled and unskilled citizens in the region but also to continue to generate revenue for sustainable development of the region in terms of upgrading our cities which are slums by the way just like other cities in other regions including our villages.

Strika Nigeria Limited (creator of Supa Strika comics) is an 'edutainment' company, which for over 15 years, has educated and entertained pre-teens and young adults using comic books. Young adults find these highly graphic and colorful comics very attractive and this brings excitement, making it very easy for them to learn, using the comics.

Olagesin now has about 15 staff on her payroll, as Strika has moved from just comics to animation and would soon be going digital, in order to reach a larger audience.

An e-book was created to bridge the gap, and lay a solid foundation for those just starting out, in the areas of 3D graphics, animation and visual effects. It was a pet project created for the African artist.

DAWN OF THUNDER - an animated media production from our studios, is a tool for cultural preservation as well as a catalyst for sustainable development. With culture getting extinct by the day, some of our ancient life-saving practices and globally beneficial traditions, have been long forgotten. We intend to use this medium as an educative tool to give some insight on how vital treasures of information on our culture can directly affect our world positively. We want to use DAWN OF THUNDER, to integrate culture, into the global development agenda. While entertaining you, we hope to give our small quota to improve cultural tourism, preserve vital and globally beneficial traditions, and change the world one episode at a time."https://ng.linkedin.com/in/kolarewaju

Teni Majekodunmi, is the Founder & Creative Director of Eclectic Chique, an African-inspired accessory brand, created through a love of arts, rich colours and embellishment. After Teni’s graduation from law school in 2005, she registered a legal & environmental consultancy company that focused on climate finance, but in 2012, her perception about business changed.

A desire to turn her long nurtured passion into a viable business was rekindled, with more focus on the social angle of the business, for both women and men. When Teni started the business she was the only staff, but today, she has a total of 43 staff. Her creativity and doggedness has worn her several awards, amongst which are the Young African Leader Initiative 2012 and President Obama Town Hall Leader 2014. Her company designs and markets bangles, purses, bags, scarves, slippers, cushions, face caps etc., made from ankara and other different kinds of African fabrics and leather.

Teni Majekodunmi is also one of the beneficiaries of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) who met the requirements, launched her accessories brand - “Eclectic Chique” at Bank Road, Ikoyi. Here is what the excited lady had to say about her journey. “The application process was very fair compared to other types of applications. I love the efficiency they used to respond to all of our applications. We are Proudly Nigerian, we produce the product here. We export to three different countries; South Africa, United States and the UK”. https://battabox.com/woman-makes-beautiful-made-nigeria-accessories/

Mesturah Olayinka Shittu is a carpenter and founder of Turahfrique Interiors Limited. Although she studied Environmental Chemistry at University of Lagos, Mesturah’s venture into carpentry, has won her a number of awards such as: African Best Premium Quality Interior Designer, and Furniture Company of the Year 2016, Furniture/Interior Decoration Leadership Excellence Prize 2016 and Africa’s Best-In-Class Premium Furniture Company of the year 2017.

In many parts of the world, carpentry is a male-dominated profession. Mesturah and her team were responsible for re-designing the Lagos State Deputy Governor’s conference room. After Mesturah obtained her first degree in Environmental Chemistry, she went further to acquire a certificate in Interior Design from the Maven School of Interior Decoration and Design. Mesturah has continued to keep her skills up-to-date by obtaining additional certificates and recognitions.

'My nickname back in college was “Turah of Africa” and this was given to me by my classmates after my visit to four (4) African countries. I got this name because upon my return, I had purchased outfits unique to each country’s culture, and I wore these various outfits Monday thru Friday. Sounds like a funny story, but that is exactly what happened.

In addition, circumstances made it so. I selected the name because the Corporate Affairs Corporation also known as CAC, rejected all the names that I had in mind. I knew that I had to use the name that could promote my brand as a successful furniture and interior design company, and could stand the test of time. Hence the name, “Turahafrique Interiors Limited.”

"I see my business as a B2B company. We work with hotels, restaurants, multinationals, real estate agencies, and/or individuals willing to live in a tastefully well-furnished space that suits their style and personality. It is important to note that much of our business, comes primarily from other businesses.

I financed the business with my savings. I also put money back into the business, by using the profit made from the sales of the furniture sold. In this industry, clients usually pay a 75 to 80 percent mobilization fee, which is sometimes enough to complete a project."
