CAS CELEBRATES EID EL KABIR WITH NAF FRONTLINE TROOPS, URGES FAIR TREATMENT OF CIVILIANS

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, alongside other senior officers from Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on 1 and 2 September 2017, celebrated this year’s Eid el Kabir with NAF frontline troops in Yola and Maiduguri respectively. The celebration of festive periods with frontline personnel has become a tradition with the CAS, who greatly appreciates the enormous sacrifice being made by the personnel. The frontline personnel are unable to celebrate the festive seasons with their family members as a result of their commitment to the ongoing efforts to completely end the Boko Haram menace. The CAS seized the opportunity of the festivities to urge the NAF personnel to treat civilians with utmost respect while ensuring that they do not spare Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) and other criminal elements.

In his separate remarks to the personnel in Yola and Maiduguri, Air Marshal Abubakar commended them for their efforts, which had substantially degraded the capability of the BHTs. He was, however quick to add that the NAF had not gotten to its end state despite all its successes. He cited isolated cases of setbacks such as kidnapping and suicide bombings, which were not good enough and hence, the need to redouble efforts in all respects. He added that it was just a matter of time before the BHTs were flushed out unless they surrender. In addition, the CAS assured the personnel that efforts were being made at Headquarters NAF to ensure the creation of a more conducive environment for the frontline personnel to effectively operate. One of such efforts, according to him, was in the area of human capacity building, adding that “the challenges of the Twenty First Century can only be resolved with adequate knowledge”.

The CAS equally assured the personnel that, with the constant support of the Federal Government, the Service would continue to make their welfare a priority. Air Marshal Abubakar intimated the personnel that the post-service housing scheme for commissioned officers was being evaluated to improve the system. He expressed happiness that the latest set of recruits into the NAF had already registered with the newly introduced post-service housing scheme for non-commissioned officers and were therefore assured of their private accommodation after completing their 35 years of service in the NAF. In the same vein, he said that 150 dependants of NAF personnel would soon graduate from the skill acquisition program designed to empower them by giving them skills in addition to education. He promised that more residential accommodation would be built in the mission areas while arrangements were being made to supply additional combat uniforms. The CAS then charged the personnel to remain focused and continue to do their jobs professionally.

While the other one was getting painted the first one was being repaired, remember it got hit.
I think an mi-35p gunship discharged a 30mm into it by accident.

NAF TACTICAL AIR COMMAND COMMENCES MEDICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME FOR MAKURDI FLOOD VICTIMS

The Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command (TAC) of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Vice Marshal MA Idris today flagged off a medical assistance programme to meet the medical needs of the recent flood victims in Makurdi, Benue State. The AOC TAC said the commencement of the medical outpost programme was part of the Command's corporate social responsibility and was borne out of the desire to contribute to the medical needs of the flood victims. He further said that the NAF would be offering the medical treatment to the flood victims free of charge. In his remarks, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Chief (Dr) Samuel Ortom, thanked the NAF for its assistance.

A few days ago, following a downpour, many houses in Makurdi were submerged in flood water. The persons affected by the flood were rendered homeless and several medical casualties were recorded. Thousands of victims of the flood were accommodated at the the Makurdi International Market, where the NAF medical outpost programme kicked off today. The NAF also recently airlifted the Director General of the National Emergency Management Authority and other officials to Makurdi in response to a Presidential directive. Meanwhile, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has directed the Medical Services Branch of the NAF to provide more drugs and deploy more medical personnel to complement the efforts of the Command, as might be required.

Troops Ambush, Kill Boko Haram Terrorists In Borno

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman, in a statement, said the terrorists were neutralised in the early hours of Monday.

Brigadier General Usman said the dead insurgents and others who sustained gunshot wounds fell into an ambush laid by troops on a suspected Boko Haram terrorists crossing point along Firgi-Banki Junction Road in the state.

According to him, the operation was carried out by troops of Mobile Strike Teams (MSTs) 21, on Operation Lafiya Dole, deployed within the 21 Brigade Nigerian Army Area of operations.

“The troops recovered the following items from the terrorists; 18 bicycles, 15 bags of grains, 17 gallons of grain, five empty gallons, six cutlasses, a sword, water bottles and pairs of slippers.”
The feat followed the inauguration of the MSTs by the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai.

The Army spokesman said the teams are highly trained and well-equipped groups injected into Operation Lafiya Dole with the mandate of securing the Main Supply Routes (MSRs), in addition to conducting limited clearance operations.

LATEST BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS VIDEO CLIP MERE PROPAGANDA AND SIGNS OF DEFEAT AS 2 MORE KEY COMMANDERS WERE KILLED ON SALLAH DAY

The Nigerian Army has noted that in their desperation, the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists have released yet another video clip yesterday, in which they made all manner of spurious assertions, denying the surrender of some of the terrorists and the killing of 5 key commanders, among other lies, all aimed at instilling unnecessary fears in law abiding people.

Although the relevant department is still analyzing the video clip, suffice to state that it is sheer desperation and clear signs of fear as our troops keep closing up with them. Moreover, two other Deputies of the purported Boko Haram terrorists group leader, Afdu Kawuri and Abubakar Banishek, were killed in a successful military operation at Alafa on Sallah day, Friday 1st September 2017. This is in addition to Ba'Abba Ibrahim and 2 other Boko Haram commanders that died after sustaining injuries during their last ambush at Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno state.

We wish to challenge the so-called terrorist leader to produce the 5 key commanders earlier killed or the video of those Ameers he claimed not dead and are still with him. It is also instructive to note that Shekau is scared and rattled by the 40-day ultimatum issued by the Chief of Army Staff to the Theatre Commander Operation LAFIYA DOLE and hiding from one hole to another, like the bush rat that he really is!!!

Thank you for your kind cooperation.
