@Jelmusboy,

Patience is what you need at this stage. Wait for the outcome of the assessment. I am not sure if anybody is in a position to give you a definite answer as it is the prerogative of NT alone and the quality of your application.

If you have supplied all required documents and satisfied most of the requirements, I believe you should get something, worst being a 489 which is better than nothing.

Goodluck.

@all,

Thanks

What stricter English language requirements can surpass what is already in place. I am not sure they know the number of times applicants write before getting "superior' English?

4 years waiting period for PR holders to get citizenship?

And to cap it a test of Australian values was also part of the proposal. How would this be assessed? Competence in Aboriginal studies?

God help us.

Our country may have failed us but we all will make a better nation for ourselves outside of these shores. Nigeria may have failed us but we owe it to the future never to fail each other. God bless us all.

Hmm....I felt a need to correct an impression here seeing the emphasis you laid.
Kindly imagine what would happen in a decade if there was a transfer of people (everyone) in Australia to Nigeria and vice versa. I leave you to your imaginations.
To a large extent, WE failed Nigeria (a country) after which we are called by the decision we took, our actions and inactions etc
Same way God made man and gave us the earth to cultivate and flourish in. So many things are wrong with the world we live in today. Who's to blame? The world itself?
As we migrate to Australia, we have no choice but to adapt, reorientate where necessary. If Australia permits migrants to "to do as they do" back home, we will turn Australia to "Nigeria" in no time.

Please don't take this personal...... it's a popular belief I don't subscribe to. Hence, my response. Cheers.

Gurus in the house,kindly help
I have B.tech in Chemical Engineering,graduated in 2008.I got my professional job in 2012 till date,I also completed my M.Eng(Chemical Engineering) in 2014 while working.
MY QUESTION
Can I claim 5 years work experience (2012 -2017) if I am to use my Master degree certificate for the assessment or the work experience will have to start counting from the completion date of master degree.
I want to know if there will be no need to include my master degree,if it will affect my number of years of work experience

Where you dey run go?

This is what a lot of people misunderstand

We say Sydney is to Australia what Lagos is to Nigeria. That does not necessarily infer that Sydney is like Lagos. That's Ignoratio Elenchi (finally, Logic n Phylosophy class came handy...lolzz)

It depends on what exactly you are running from in Lagos Nigeria.

Public transportation (no matter how disappointing they might be at times) is generations ahead of what's obtainable in Lasgidi. I can decide to live 40kms away from work and still catch a train (wey no dey enter gidi like traffic hold up)

Yes, housing is expensive, but don't forget Syndey hourly rates too are a couple of notch ahead of other cities. Not forgetting the fact that you are more likely to find that job faster in Syd than you would in Melbourne or any other Oz city

We don dey here since March and I'm yet to see the 'roughness' people talk about. Suburbs (where we can afford to live for now) are relatively quiet. No loudspeakers from barbing salons, or religious centres, cars hardly honk at one another. Most people obey traffic rules like I have never seen before. Your are likely never going to see your speedometer reach 90km/hr if you hardly travel or use motorways.

Sometimes I wonder if Sydney is what Aussies call rough, man! I'm not sure I want to live in a 'less rough' Australia, because this one sef dey too boring abeg.

I'm not campaigning for Sydney ooo. I just don't want people to make less suitable decisions based on a comparing two cities that aren't exactly the same.

@admixture,

You don't need to add your MSc. The Bachelor degree is enough. Most important thing is writing a convincing CDR to get a professional engineer assessment.

What were you doing between 2008-2012?

@Jamson,

You have committed the same error you accused others of. It is an erroneous belief that Sydney offers the highest pay rate compared to rest of the states.

According to state governments payscale, Sydney is still behind WA and NT.

Sydney is a nice place for those who don't mind living in a unit... tongue

Thank you all for your contributions.

Please I will like to have a clarification on these.

I studied Marketing Bsc, couldn't find a closely related skills on the list.

However I am thinking of selecting poultry as learnt trade, though I work in one of the Fed Govt Security Agencies.

I want to claim work experience in poultry farming as family business, and strive hard to get points through

Age: 30
Education: 15
And try to get 20pts through superior English proficiency.. or get 10pts and get nominated.

Please can this go down well

I completed Uni 2009. I hope it's not too long a time for them to think that I have been off work, even though I have been working in various sectors.. Finance, Security and HR

@emailaddy,

Vetasses is the assessing body for poultry farming occupation and it is likely not to assess your marketing degree as relevant. Vetasses rarely take experience in lieu of qualification. In addition, depending on the school you graduated from, your degree may not be assessed to be equivalent of Australia Bachelor degree.

Are you married or do you have a fiancé?

Your experience in HR is for how long and do you have any other qualification?

Thanks for the quick response Bellong, you are a legend.

Yes I have a fiancé and we are planning on settling by Dec.

I finished from Covenant University, B.sc Marketing, 2:2 with a CGPA of 3.27. I am currently running an MBA degree at ABU Zaria and will be through by Mid Next year or latest Oct Next year. My fiancé studied Industrial chemistry and she's into Fashion Design.

What if I try teaching.. I can take Business Studies or any business line. But like I said I currently work with a Fed Govt Security agency can't mention the name currently cause it's sensitive

Saw Marketing Specialist but I feel competition might be so much.. kindly find attached
