I thought you just wrote on the previous page that you can't find Sept 30th date in Benin?

Go to mini-IELTS.com. Too many practice tests there.

Thanks. It later popped up when I went to check availability date. But didn't when I was on the main British council website

Hey guys,
Please i would like to know, on what circumstances is one allowed use the "two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees?" because i did some trainings and was issued certificates on QHSE. i would like to know if i can use these certificates and claim points from that option between Bsc and Msc from education on CIC tool.

Anyone with ideas on this?
Please help. thanks.
No, you can't use those. They are not diplomas or degrees. If you had acquired a number of those certificates towards gaining a final diploma, then you could have something.

- Thanks a lot.

To claim 50 points for skill transferability factor with a Master's Degree, do I need to also evaluate my Bsc. Degree?

As it is stated on their website " Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer - 50 Poiints"

Thanks. Really appreciate.

No, your Masters degree is enough. That should earn you maximum points.

Please house, I have a question concerning ielts. Please what's the best way to tackle multiple choice (a, b, c) questions must especially in section 3 n 4 of listening. Dats the must challenging. Any idea how to overcome this?

I feel @Cochtrane can help with that. I have two ways of tackling it. The first is, I do cancel out the wrong answer as the speaker is talking. This will help to increase my chances of guessing the correct answer (in case I need to guess).

The second way is, you can write the correct answer (exactly the way the speaker said it) on your question paper. During the time you are given to cross-check your answers, you will choose the answer that is related to what you wrote down (For multiple choice questions, the correct answer will/might be paraphrased)

Note: Don't be quick to pick the first answer as it may be incorrect (You will often hear all the answer choices). The answer choices for multiple choice questions doesn't come in order most of the time.

Efamily please a friend of mine using WES has been on awaiting verification for months and he has two masters from the same university. The university said it has sent verification for the both masters but WES only acknowledge for one and said its awaiting verification for the other masters. Please wats the way forward and advice for this?
You are not gonna get more points for two masters than you would for one. If you have IELTS already, have WES evaluate only one masters and dive head first into the pool.

Glitteringstar has said pretty much all you need to know.
1. Cross out wrong answers
2. Listen for all the answers, as you'll most certainly hear the speakers discuss each option. But listen intently for any change in opinion. As that often happens, expect it!
3. If you are out of options, take an educated guess.
4. Practice and practice. Use www.mini-ielts.com. There are a lot of such questions there.

Lol@talkative. Not necessarily. I'm an introvert myself and self-talk helped me a lot. So you can say I'm talking from experience.

By the way, are you sure that you are an introvert? tongue No more derailing with "introvert talk" wink

#Bye-bye wink

You don't have to be a talkative. Even two mins is too long for anyone to keep talking without going round and round. Personally I found E2language.com helpful for speaking. Watch E2 Speaking on YouTube. Jay teaches a method called PPF. It definitely helps me talk oooo until the examiner stopped me and asked the next question. PPF also helped come up with "lies" on the spot that made sense grin It's called embellishment, since IELTS is not marking honesty or truth.

Anyway tips for September 30th folks.

Congrats to all PPR, ITA. Success to all IELTS hopefuls.

You don't need to be scared. You need to have a positive attitude towards your exam to increase your chances of performing well.

Below are some tips to help you with the listening section (That is my own strong point grin wink)

*Read and follow the instructions---Use word where word is needed and number where number is needed. For example, a question that says "not more than TWO WORDS"….Writing 18 dollars or $18 as answer is wrong. The correct answer should be EIGHTEEN DOLLARS.

*To be on the safe side write all your answers in capital letters.

*Cross-check all your answers. For example, make sure the answer for question 7 goes for question 7.

*For map completion/diagram/flowchart, answers do come in order.

*For multiple choice questions, most times the correct answers would be paraphrased. You may likely hear all the options also.

*Underline key words and listen for them.

*Predict the answers i.e ask yourself will the answer be a name, date, number e.t.c

*Write the exact word you hear and correct spelling.

*Learn alphabets, numbers, names of streets, places etc. Practice this on ieltsliz.com.

*If cost is mentioned and the currency sign is not given in the question, don’t forget to put the sign. However, if the sign or symbol for currency has been given, you don’t need to use sign again.

*Above all practice and remember that full concentration is needed on the exam day.

Read some of the tips that @Cochtrane and Osemigho shared last month too.

I wish you and other September 30th IELTS test takers good success.

For those of us that are expecting positive remark result (EOR) and all September 9th test takers, may God crown all our efforts with good success.
thank u so much

Hi everyone,
I'm new on this forum.
I'll like to know how to increase our scores. Our profile expires this month and I'd like to know if it's possible to improve on our points while creating a new one.

Knowing that we'll lose even more points as we apply again due to our age. We scored 410 previously . Hubby and I do not have our masters and we took our first IELTS exams last year.

Hubby's IELTS Scores:
LISTENING 8.5, Writing 7, speaking 7.5 and reading 8.5
My scores:
LISTENING 8, Reading 7, Writing 6.5, Speaking 7
I'm new to this thread any advise will be well appreciated.

Here is a method. It requires good practice.

1. Use the time given before the audio to skim the questions and scan for keywords.
2. Note key differences in your options
3. Anticipate your answers
4. Keep your eyes on the paper at all times
5. Avoid distractors

Ordinarily, those would be pretty good scores. Your hubby as the PA can try to increase his scores in writing and speaking but IELTS is not that easy to predict. If you increase your writing, it is only an additional 1 point.

You might want to consider going the PNP route. It is more expensive and you need more documents but it could make the difference. You can target a New Brunswick when they do their open day in like Dubai and stuff.

Good morning house,

Please has anyone gotten ADR for travel history and how did you go about filling the form? I just got an ADR which reads;

Travel History Info Form: Information on your previous travel history (trip duration and purpose) including citizenship and resident document information.

I have filled for my trips for the last 10 years, using the dates I was stamped in at the country of arrival and end date as stamp on arrival back into Nigeria.
The form link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5562E.pdf.
Thank you.

these questions are always paraphrased from the answers. You will truly get confused if you are waiting to hear the answers in the objective. let me advice you on what i did. i study the questions very well and ignore the objectives, while the audio is playing, i write down the answers of the question as been said in the audio on my answer sheet. When you are done with the test, go back to the questions and objectives. go through it to find the answer that has the same meaning with what you have written. eg. they might use words like, check the internet for more information. and the answer in the objective will be c) our website has more details. you need to concentrate fully also. wishing you the best

With a CRS of 410 and your writing at 6.5, I'd conclude your husband is the PA. Now, your husband's result is good enough, you will only be missing 3 points from the maximum he can get from IELTS while yours as a spouse is almost perfect too, just two points off maximum 20 claimable. That means you both will be losing a total of 5 points from language points. To me, 5 points is not worth you both re-writing the IELTS, with a cost 136 grand which you are not even sure you'd hit the targeted scores on your next trail. So, i'd rule out retaking IELTS. If you however choose to rewrite, your score with maximum language score will be back at 410. You need a significant boost than 5 points considering your present CRS.

Other ways you can boost your score is to try accumulate points from educational factor, does your husband have NCE, OND, HND, any certification from ICAN (or close substitute)?. If no, can you be the PA if age and work experience supports? If yes, then you will have to rewrite IELTS and also confirm if you have any of the above degree/certificate.

Last resort is to gun for PNP, with 405 (assuming age is less than 40), you should get nominated in record time. Though expensive and time consuming route but sure seems like an option.

If however my first assumption is wrong - your husband being the PA, then solution to your issue lies in your simply retaking the IELTS. With at least 8777 in LRWS, you'd have a reasonable high CRS.
