I often told you @TheSuperNerd that you ain't the only one who loves the super eagles and Kelechi. but you've always allow your emotion to get control over you.

It's true folks have foreign clubs they pay loyalties too but it doesn't take the love of their own national team away no matter how cold it maybe at that moment(everybody has once passed through this stage). I bet u, If England happens to be paired against Nigeria none of this your 'english football apologies' will drum support for the english players between that 90mins. Even if Nigeria is loosing by 10goals with any of their club stars scoring hat-tricks-they 'll feel dejected and happy just the way you'll feel because they are Nigerians forget all this mere talks.

Garba lawal and rabiu Ali speedy players? Chai see person wey say him sabi ball!

Now let me help you with list of northern midfielders that you obviously pretend not to know.

Garba Lawal
Rabiu Ali
Yahaya
Abdullahi Alfa
Ibrahim Alhassan.
Etc

To try to make this a region thing shows that you are not to be taken serious. I only chose to entertain your folly. There is no region or country that can fill any position if they have to so swallow your myopic view about life and don't bring it into football.

You coming on too strong. Easy. He prefaced his opinion with a caveat that he has no objections against players from the Northern region and then stated that they lack a certain creative quality for the midfield. It's not folly. It's perhaps a not too well informed view as kog45 has ably demonstrated by reeling out names of players from the Northern region who have manned the midfield. I can as well say most blacks sing and run than whites. It's just a view point which can and should be countered without denigration.

My own ethnic group has not even produced any worthy player(which I know of) for the Super Eagles and I've always wondered why. For someone to say that, is just an observation, an opinion.

One more thing on the hullabalo.

The strength of a man doesn't lies in how skilled he is in fighting back when provoked but it lies in his ability to put himself under control or restraint.

@PietroRico, you shouldn't have gone all the way to bring his mum into this. You goofed big time and Saying sorry is not always a sign of weakness. I expect you to apologies...

” The World Cup 2018 is special to Mikel. He has started extra drills ahead of the game against Zambia. He wants to lead his team from the front, and the best way to do it is to be fully fit”, his intermediary told Owngoalnigeria..com.

” He (Mikel) is getting games in China on a regular basis for his club, but he still does extra fitness and tactical drills strictly for the sake of the game against Zambia, which he expects to be a lot faster and more physical than the league games in China”.

No hard feelings as he has been my favourite SE player and still is, but y didn't he do these while he was younger?

I agree our team is so so whack. But look who is going to qualify for the next world cup. We will be praying for the Black Stars all the same to qualify for Russia. As tbaba1234 rightly suggested, this WAFU tourney should rather be used to discover young talents.. you can celebrate your trophy anyway. Not taking anything from you. Hold it dearly and cherish it.

OK, all the best with your match against Zambia.

You better go create a thread to discuss

1) Why you didn't qualify for the CHAN
2) Why you haven't won the AFCON for over 3 decades now
3) Why you are on the verge of losing out on a world cup ticket..
.when u do invite us and we will talk...

Generally, have learn't so much on this thread, from sports, culture, health, education etc.

One of those was during a discussion on importance of education on Sportsmen. Sir Mujtahida drop his own view along with a hint on a certain book written by Gatto, I had to go find that book got the e-copy and the hard copy and truly reading it has been a blessing and an eye-opener. Thanks Man.

I hardly comments/visit other threads outside the national team threads.
But I'll have come to appreciate the tolerance of Sirs Forgiveness, Icon4s, Kog45, Komekn, TheGoodJoe, Enomakos, Mikael2, Safarigirl and everyone else who have recieved and handled well their own share of attack either from new comers or those who've been here for a long time but do have offdays once in a while. Thanks for your wisdom.

Finally, I'll implore everybody who intends to join this beautiful thread to take time and read the first 2-3pages to have a clue of those people who this thread are made up of. Thanks.

*NOTE* NOT ALL MENTIONS OR POST ARE MEANT TO BE REPLIED. No need of bringing oneselve down low in the name of putting people in their places. Silence is said to be the best answer to a fool. CHEERS!!! Outta here

Honestly am not getting u wrongly, that was d reason i used Jayjay as an example. When Jayjay and Kanu were in his age they couldn't carry d team again, picking matches to play for us.

I got your point,a younger Obi Mikel at this stage should have been better and this is d reason i said some get mature as they are aging, may be he is not exceptional from this syndrome.

Oh i don't know that was d basis for this arguements.

Good lets go down to memory lane, before d emergence of Henry Nwosu,Eim Esin,Jayjay Okocha, Sunday Olishe, Mikel Obi,player like Haruna Ilerika,Muda Lawal ran d show in d late 70s and early 80s.

Haruna Ilerika was like Jayjay OKocha, very good and solid midfielder.Muda Lawal can be compared to Sunday Olishe.

On northern extraction i w named Garba Lawal as d biggest to come out from north but cannot be compared to Mutiu Adepoju as far as national team is concern, also sani kaita that I w rate at par with Seyi Olofinjana.

Northern extraction player like kadiri Ikhana,Moses Otolorin,Kafaru Alabi also did well but not as influential as Ilerika and Muda Lawal.

Nevertheless we don't need this coz National team belongs to every players irrespective where u come from and this thread is too beautiful for tribalism to derail it.

I am not here to compare anybody to the other....I am just saying that the northerners rarely produce midfielders in the mould of Oruma,Okocha,Okwaraji,Etim,Oliha Henry Nwosu and Mutiu. You don't often find these type of players in the north.
Garba Lawal is not a typical attacking midfielder. Khadiri Ikhana is from Edo,Otolorin and Alabo though I don't know them sounds Yorubaish....We know what I mean by northern players....like Niger and Chad kind of north.

Again I am not comparing regions because I can see you throwing your brothers names around....Forgiveness brother...lol

No ,he doesn't have what it takes to be world class... I know Musa from his days in Kano Pillars. Musa is a speedy player with with a lot of shots who gets lucky and score some breathtaking goals . The most inconsistent Nigerian player ever!

He should have moved out on loan before the transfer window closed...

As it stand,if he stays at Leicester after January then its the experience card that would earn him a spot at the world cup if we qualify

Thanks for d correction, truly Ikhana is from Edo,is name Kadiri let me think otherwise.Moses Otolorin is from north central Ilorin, also Kafaru Alabi from Offa in d north central.

My man i got your point and is very cleared and also somehow points,so do not be offended if my contributions is some how to u.

we will quickly answer that when you also answer these questions?

1) Nigerians have gone to five World Cups but they have never reached the quarter finals, why

2) Nigerians have won afcons yet they have just three trophies while Ghana has four ? why?

3) Nigeria has been qualifying for Chan for years now but you have never made it to the finals. why? your best was a semi-final which Ghana beat you with 10 men on penalties. again why?

Garba Lawal is not famous for his creative abilities,my nigga. Stop getting emotional about this because I am not a tribalist .

Rabiu Ali hasn't gone past Kano Pillars where he is a little god of some kind.

Yahaya is a winger who is still trying to find his feet.

Alhassan is a SS striker.

Name one natural and accomplished creative midfielder the north has produced or keep quiet.
I don't care if you take me serious or not...Are you my wife? Lol. I don't care about people on Nairaland who doesn't take me serious because I care less. Don't dump your insecurities on me.
