I pray they (DSTV) and powerful people behind them dont frustrate the coming of this promising , pocket friendly pay as you use (TSTV)? What i hate most about the dstv is that when ever you have issue with ur decoder and u decide to call their customer careline , they will keep deducting your credit , yet nobody will pick it. If u cut the call and u dial the line again they will keep deducting ur credit now from this trick they collect our money through unaswer calls to them again. U can imagin how wicked they are. I dont like their style of monopolising the entertainment scene. So TSTV will be welcomed my many of us. Some lawyer once take the case of DSTV to court to force them introduce pay as you watch but u no our jusicial system here so corrupt either DSTV frustrated the case at the court but we didnt hear anytin about the lawyer and the case again. DSTV has reallly dealt wit many nIgeria maybe with backing of some Corrupt government official or governemt herself.

I bought the decoder here in owerri for 5k, but it is showing "no signal", I hope they resume on 1st October as they promised

It's working, you just need to get the satellite position right. Some people who are fortunate to get it early have been using it.

I remember when NTEL launched too a lot of people were like this would be the end of MTN only to get disappointed when they started operation. Watching EPL and champions league for N3,000? Sounds too good to be true unless it is internet based. What would likely happen is that it will start well, then get over-subscribed within a few months within such that its infrastructure cant cope with the demand, then Decoders will become unavailable to buy.

Arrogance, on the part of the company and staff, will set-in and the Service will get poorer and poorer till it becomes another GoTV with a different name.

Their staff might not be arrogant because there's an alternative which is multi choice

guy, it comes with a small pan dish, I never subscribe it yetooo, but according to the manual, you can recharge it through your sim card as low as 500 naira to any amount you want to, you can also record your best movies and watch it anytime you want, well, until 1st October dat I will know if it will really work

Multiply that amount with the number of matches i will watch in a mounth (at least 10) i.e. 1000 talkless of the stress and noise they make in viewing centres

Bro forget spectranet and swift, been there done that. Their highest stable speed is around 20-30mbps (that is on a good day, most of the times it hovers around 7-15mbps). Is that one fiber? The fastest network in Nigeria (at least in my area in Lagos) is MTN which can easily get 40-60mbps. Very good for streaming HD contents on YouTube but try to stream a live match and it will start misbehaving. Unless u want to watch the match in some low quality.

Probably they were operating somewhere before their decision to come to Nigeria if not they may be doomed already before even starting because DSTV will surely find a way around destabilizing them by bribing the NBC.MTN and NITEL come to mind .South African companies in Nigeria re crooks nd sure know how to play their cards as regards our corrupt legislators ,there was even a time MTN was accused of bribing our federal legislators with abt 25k worth of recharge cards every month ....

the TSTV needs to ensure they don't make empty promises. It is very important to keep to any promise you make to potential customers. they are making noise about showing EPL and UCL matches now but hope they don't disappoint and start telling stories. Let the owners sit down and do their home work very well before coming out to brag about this and that. I will be very glad if the TSTV can send gotv into extinction. I know it's difficult to tackle dstv, but gotv needs to be eliminated totally. The multichoice guys are just bunch of fraudsters...they are always lie about everything.

Nigerian politicians who have stolen money should use their brain and invest in business that will generate huge income and stop wasting money buying houses and cars in dubai, england and USA. They need to think and give all these foreign companies exploiting Nigerians a serious challenge. The govt can help by frustrating these wicked so called foreign investors just to help our indigenous investors.
