all the people that have been build wooden cars in this country of ours how many have moved beyond where they are rather they move from one place to another to feed their hunger for amusing people and collect change.

even our govt has not encouraged auto manufacturing in this country .

or do you think Auto manufacturing can be achieve without resolving the issue of power which has bedeviled this country for decades

have you been to INNOSONS plant to confirm their percentage of local content?
You don't need to visit a company's plant to know what they are doing. I have not been to Tata plant, BMW, Benz etc to know they own intellectual property.

Innoson vehicles utilize Mitsubishi engine, engine is a great percentage in car manufacture. Their car is exactly the same with so many Chinese clones greatwall, Jac etc so I know Innoson isn't manufacturing cars it is just CKD he assembles.

What he is doing isn't new, Pan Nigeria does the same till now check the chanchang vehicle for clarification

"It was so unreliable that it was only bought by people who were sympathetic to local manufacturers and who were willing to endure its many failures.. and they were usually repaired for free by Toyota's factory engineers who used the opportunity to understand the vehicles even better"

For all those cursing at innoson, we all know our favourite car company started small with alot of mistakes....
do you noticed the part the report said they were doing repairs for free?
will a nigerian assembly/manufacturing plant do that? supply parts for free and do free servicing?
it's all about the money oo
Re: 8 Japanese Automakers And Their First Cars (photos) by Bullhari: 10:45am On Sep 29, 2017
Those who aim high, start small. and I am sure Bullhari ams high, that's y he started by destroying the economy, subsidizing dollar rate for pilgrimages at the expense of manufacturers, touring the world and then deciding that UK was better for a 154 days holiday in 7 months, borrowing within two years more than half the sum of what other presidents from 1960-2015 (45 yes) borrowed, governors now use State fund to pay for pilgrimages and finally, Bullhari chose to turn the military against the people. quote me, in if we continue the way we are going, tomorrow the title for a post about Nigeria would be

1. Nigerian president and the amount they borrowed.
2. How the first military operation against Civilians went and other subsequent ones.
3. political parties and their lies.

it's not just about Bullhari, it's about all of those looters past present and future. I suggest Public trial of every public office holder once ever 4 yrs. if found guilty, the entire nuclear family should be publicly executed by hanging the the offender spends 6 yes in jail and then publicly stoned to death.

I didn't bash Innoson nor soiling their name, I won't gain anything in doing that. I simply said the truth, Innoson is a car assembly plant not a manufacturing plant, both are different.

A manufacturing plant would have a greater percentage of in house components, designed and tested to meet specifications. They don't need to make 100% of the components but a greater % is their intellectual property.

An assembly plant doesn't manufacturer anything they just buy components bolt them together and sell it.
Innoson import only the engine my friend, you can't even step out of your house for once

now, there's a clause... you have to own the car to be entitled for such service and the citizens responded by buying the cars regardless of it's fault to help the indigenous company grow.... you can see the result

You certainly think everyone is a mumu like you? The world has gone from mediocre to real things.

The same automakers you talk about even in other countries have engineering department that design engines it's when they are finished it goes to metallurgy industries for casting.

Car designs too are done by experts who design for car makers after then goes for testing for aerodynamics and the likes, if it meets certification the car maker patent the body design as his and then goes to metal casting industries who does the physical appearance even after the whole process is complete quality control and series of testing takes place to ensure environmental compliant and safety.

Innoson doesn't design engine
Innoson doesn't have a car designer neither do they source design from 3rd party
Innoson can't make spark plugs not to talk of high end engine complimentary components.
The wiring in Innoson vehicle could be made in Nigeria but definitely not by Innoson.

If you take making footmat and cutting wood and using shine shine to Polish as car manufacturing then you have a serious issue.

I will continue to tell the truth Innoson does not manufacture it just buy CKD and put it together.

yea, but they know what is in it for them in terms of cost.
our nigerian seller is just like the typical buyer, no one is to blame, you will start hearing which route you dey drive, where you dey buy fuel, where you dey park am for night, etc.
i once had issues with an operation manager in uba, the man assumed i was guilty just because i was a student and some student are guilty for the complaints i made. it resulted into serious issues, and he had to apologized at the long run.
If innoson or any other nigerian producer is ready to tow that part of no question asked, just drive in/call for pickup, bills on us(exception to accident/negligence), i can assure you that buyers sef go ignore the price and start buying.
