True @ bolded, the recent speed is just a lucky transformation.

People even complain of no movement in the account for 2weeks grin grin
I can't blame 'us', when timeline for medical passed suddenly changed from 2 months to less than 3weeks, everyone become expectant.

dupyshoo:

Also, my application took 6 months minus 1 day. That's why I smile when I see people complaining when they have only waited for 2-3 months. In 2015/2016, most applications take between 4-6 months. It is nowadays that most applications are processed quickly.

If the bank statements you are submitting shows that you have another account, they might ask for the account.

You might have got loan using one account and transferred the fund to the account you are using as POF. That is why you are asked to submit details of all your bank accounts and loans. If there is no connection between the multiple bank accounts, then you can safely submit only the one with the POF.

I know of someone that was asked for bank statements of more than 5 years ago. London VO even used to call applicants for interview as at 2015/2016. During the interview, they will drill you about your work experience and even ask for more evidences. So, the fact that people do it and get away with it does not mean everybody will get away with it. The sample of applications we know of are very small compared to the total applications received by IRCC.

Algbenguze:

Truth is, bank letter is just ONE of various means to prove settlement funds. People have received PPR, without bank letter or SOA, using just treasury bills or combining it with Pension funds. You don't prove funds with empty bank accounts, no matter how many. It's where your funds are lodged that matter.
If someone was asked for details of other bank accounts, especially where there's no money, I suspect a case of further background checks rather than POF.

It is misrepresentation not to mention that she has been to Argentina before. If she is caught, then she will be banned.

If she has got ITA, she can submit her application with the PCC before November and it will still be valid. If she does not submit her application before November, she will have to obtain another PCC.

MysteryBud:
Argentina refuses to give PCC in absentia or via online medium, dy require 1 to come to d country to obtain this. Now his wife was able to get one in May this year 2 days b4 her departure from d country.
From my research, applications can get turned down because of PCC been obtained b4 one leaves d country or it been later than 6 months b4 submission (Pls correct me if I'm wrong).
My questions hence are these;
Is it possible for them to not mention Argentina as a country she has been to, and also avoid scanning that potion of her passport that bears the Argentine visa stamp.
Also her passport will expire in the next 8 months so they plan to wait till it's 6months to expiration to cancel that old passport and obtain a new one before submission of their ITA documents.
It is because of this passport expiration that I was thinking they should not mention Argentina at all to avoid issues arising, since the Argentine visa will be in the old cancelled passport.
Please note that they still plan to scan other pages of the old passport that contains visa stamps of other countries she has been to, such as UK which is where she did her masters (they got the UK PCC online, hassle free).
Thank u.

Thank you very much for taking out time to respond. Bless you.

Algbenguze:

1. It's not correct that you must leave a country before their PCC can be valid (afterall, we still remain in Naija even after submitting Naija PCC and don't get penalized). If it's still within 6 months, especially when you leave the country within days of obtaining the PCC, you should be okay. In the first place, she only needs one if she's stayed there for 6 months cummulatively in the last 10 years. So, in summary, her PCC is valid.

2. PCC is not based on just travel history on current passport but travel history in last 10yrs or since 18th birthday, whichever is more recent. Even if the passport carrying the Argentina records expires, she still needs to declare her visits to the country if it falls within the above stated time frame. Holding back such information will amount to misrepresentation and it has consequences.

3. CIC/IRCC says you should scan data page and stamped pages of ONLY current passport. That's the rule. People (out of trust issues) still go ahead to scan old passports just to have 'rest of mind' but it's not required at all. I personally believe in following simple instructions to the letter.

You don't have to be in the same country. After PPR, just send them an email to change where to send your passport.

Bro I just remembered that 2yrs back i sent my Msc transcript to WES canada wen I was planning having a higher degree in the US. according to findings, both WES Canada & US share same info, so I guess as soon as I paid for my ECA, they got my Msc transcript in their database wch made my status to be in progress as seen on my profile. the system automatically got it from the data base, I think i don't have to resend to WES canada since WES US has the record of my documents. have sent a mail as regards this dou for clarity purpose. thanks again for ur input, am grateful.
Let them do the conversion and u ask for a refund.

Dear All,

We are a family of 3 and our EE score is over 450. The only issue is the POF.

We need CAD 18,825 and all I can muster with savings by my May 2018 target date is:

25% of Pension which will be about CAD 3,000.00 and Personal Savings of CAD3,333.33.

After much thought, I came to the conclusion to support my Bank Statement with a letter of unconditional support from my Cousin (Canadian Citizen) who has a good job in Canada and my wife's brother (Permanent Resident) to the tune of the shortfall of about CAD13,000.00.
They will support this with their bank statement and payslips.

Will this fly? Because I have tried all I know to do. Please help me.

Please does anyone have a similar experience?

They need PROOF of funds and not a letter. A letter proves nothing as the writer can renege on his promises. The funds must be readily available to you...your cousin's funds are not readily available.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

What we accept as proof

Funds must be readily available to you. For example, you can't use equity on real property as proof of settlement funds.

The funds must be available both when you apply and when (if) we issue you a permanent resident visa. You must prove to an immigration officer that you can legally access them to use to settle here when you arrive.

For proof, you must get official letters from any banks or financial institutions where you are keeping money.

Letter(s) must:
•be printed on the financial institution’s letterhead
•include their contact information (address, telephone number and email address)
•include your name
•list outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans
•include, for each current bank and investment account: ◦account numbers
◦the date each account was opened
◦the current balance of each account
◦the average balance for the past six months

Hi Dane,

Your letter(s) won't fly. You need to have access to your POF. You'd agree that you do not have access to your cousin's and brother-in-law's account regardless if they can sponsor you or their status.

However, if the strength of your proposed letter is to state that your cousin and brother-in-law will provide support should you not be able to adequately cater for yourself and family, then both of them can provide that support upfront by making the sum available now. Collect the monies and do a gift deed.

This premise is based on the fact that you want to leverage on them, if they can vouch to do it few months away, then let them do it now.

Hello guys, please I would like to get your opinion on this especially those who have done it already. Do you think that two weeks is enough time to prepare, write and pass IELTS excellently?

Cheers

Please I need advice on this.

I submitted a request for a reference letter to the HR in my organization through my director and he returned it, telling me to state where the letter would be addressed to and for what purpose I needed one. The problem is, I dont intend to reveal my intention to obtain a Canadian PR. Is there anyway around this? For instance, can I state that I intend to apply for a Canadian visa and as such have them address it to the Deputy High Commission in Lagos? But then will IRCC have a problem seeing the reference letter addressed to the High Commission?

Please advice

thank you!

Absolutely yes. To me, preparing for IELTS isn't really much of improving what is already known rather mastering what is needed to pass the exams. Time needed to prepare however depends on individual skills/strenght.

I got a message from WES saying that "photocopies of your documents have been sent to Obafemi Awolowo University for verification and that your file has been placed on hold until we receive their written response."

Who from Ife went through this and how were you able to facilitate a speedy verification response from the school?

Thanks.
