Just download the latest beta ROM and you're good to go. I'm rocking MIUI 9 (based on android 7).
You're on 7 already, so, download the miui9 and install through updater. No need to root except you need that for another purpose.

Am on 7.9.15.
To enjoy what you need in Dark Extended, apply any other dark theme you like, then customise it by using Dark Extended as you 'Favorite tray'.
You can search for 'Mi note 2' on Miui forum and use it as the dark theme before customising

Hehehehe, with good network, Facebook can consume up to 1gig in 30 minutes.

You no craze reach me wen I dey see as chrome dey chop my data of over 300+mb everyday. But now I with my recommendation above, I use less than 100mb.
Remember to use xiaomi stock browser and select 'reduce data usage'' as shown in pic

Reducing data usage slows down the browsing experience for me o. Images won't even load
