NB: Please, if you're not on 8.5.8.0 (or any Nougat based MIUI), don't try to instal the Recovery ROM attached via updater o.

Doesn't actually matter how long, might still be original though, don't think there is any hope of recovery if PC or any other device can't detect it.

YES, you can. I've recovered a fully formatted 500GB HDD like twice, thumb drives n SD is uncountable!!!
NB: I don't rely on memory cards/inbuilt phone storage anymore for important docs, I upload to my Google drive as a backup and another external drive as backup 2.

Oga I have a meizu phone and your claim that flyme ui beats miui hands down is untrue. While flyme ui is very light which I love greatly, it doesn't come close to miui in customisation. Though it has some useful features which miui can incorporate buh MIUI still be the oga between both. Watching a video doesn't tell the whole story.

No! You're already on Nougat, just download the recovery ROM and install via updater.
Once downloaded, move it to a new folder at the storage root and name the folder "downloaded_rom". Go to updater, collapse the drop down button and select "choose update package" go to the "downloaded_rom" and select the file. You'll need a WiFi to verify the package else, make your updater have access to your data for connectivity.

As with all xiaomi phones,the model doesn't matter as the same ui applies. Yes it is currently on flyme 6,the finger print still works(buh this question get as e be) ,SOT is like 5hrs on average.

For the bosses wey don upgrade, in which aspect is MIUI 9 preferable to 8,apart from split screen feature?
Forget speed. I even want to reduce the speed of NOTE 4 on miui 8

Mine use to be 8 hrs screen on time on heavy usage, but now after 6 months of using it, I hardly get 6 hrs.
the same thing happened to my friend and later hes charging port got bad , it took him over 3months plus to be able too fix the phone ...cant waste money to buy a phone and also waste me time to fix it ....one thing is to buy the other is to fix

The battery doesn't last like before goes down fast, my observation o. Fully charged like 7am. And by 11:40am just WhatsApp and little browsing the battery is on 82% chai
i love xaiomi but there battery life is poor thats why i stopped using it . will wait till i see better improvement
