Agbo is very prone to making very rash challenges in this regard he could be a liability. We don't need him getting a red card and leaving the team a man down.

They will just be calling names. Untested players for that matter.

so much on point sir.

I've already said my own about Aina at LB earlier.

Mikel should go all the way this time. He is much fitter than the previous time. Plus he is just coming off a wonderful recent run with Teda.
He is match ready and let's expect even more from him.

I expect to see Iwobi come in, but for Simon instead. KC will play a part again regardless -- unless Rohr wants to see what Nwakaeme can do. Same as regards Agu vs Ogu -- to replace Onazi.

komekn:

From my perspective Echiejile is the WEAKEST LINK.

Without a bona-fide left back a makeshift Aina will be better than Echiejile.

If we all can see it, then definitely the Zambians can. That gap needs to be plugged.

First choice striker is Ighalo no contest for now.

The legendary Mikel put in a first class performances against Cameroon considering that he was not really match fit. That's simply amazing. However, he may not last the 90 minutes, I would then replace him with Iwobi who is the next best thing to a playmaker we have in the mold of Mikel.

I would like to see another striker come in, not sure who is most, in-form. Because at the moment KC is not firing on all cylinders and his confidence is not on a high.

This is my first time of writing a comment here after two years of silently following. I greet all the great guys in this thread, the queen herself safarigirl,i greet you, You guys are fantastic.
Concerning our lineup for the upcoming game,i think our left back position is the weakest link, something should to be done about it or else the Zambians will capitalize on it. Our goal keeping department is okay considering the fact that our two best keepers are not available. I believe the goalkeeper will be well protected by his defenders besides a goalkeeper is as good as his defence. I will like to see ola Aina in the lineup, at least he will be far better than elderson.

Super Eagles Only Out-And-Out Left Back Suffers Training Ground Injury

Super Eagles Only Out-And-Out Left Back Suffers Training Ground Injury
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Monaco loanee Elderson Echiejile could not complete the Super Eagles first training session held at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The left back twisted his ankle as he tried to stop the ball during the first practice game that involved four players on each side, and laid on the pitch injured before he was attended to by Super Eagles medical team.

Manager Gernot Rohr had to call for a break and Echiejile was replaced by Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi when the session resumed.

For about twenty minutes, an ice pack was wrapped around the defender's ankle before it was removed by the physiotherapist.

The severity of Echiejile's ankle injury has not been determined yet as he managed to wear his boots and took part in a stretching exercise after the second practice game.

Whilst Echiejile is the only out-and-out left back named by Rohr in his 23-man roster, Ola Aina, who was not sighted at today's training session, can also operate in that role, though he is right-footed and predominantly thrives as a right back.

OWNGOAL update on Moses' Arrival:

Reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com has it that Moses arrived Nigeria last night alongside the duo of Aina and Iwobi but had problems connecting a flight to Uyo.

He is however expected to arrive the camp of the team this night, and will be involved in tomorrow’s training session which will take place in the morning at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Iwobi and Moses miss Nigeria training ahead of Zambia clash

Gernot Rohr’s men began preparation for the World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo without the England based professionals
Chelsea’s Victor Moses and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi were missing in Tuesday evening’s training as Nigeria prepare for their crunch encounter against Zambia in Uyo.

Iwobi, who was on target in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory against Brighton and Hoves over the weekend, was given permission to sit out of Super Eagles’ drill by Gernot Rohr – as he arrived late afternoon.

Moses, on the other hand, is yet to arrive camp despite his no-show in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, and Ola Aina completed the list of players who did not warm up with the three-time African champions.

Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo, Anthony Nwakaeme, Leon Balogun, William Troost Ekong, John Ogu, Oghenekaro Etebo and Ikechukwu Ezenwa were part of the session.

Others include Elderson Echiejile, Daniel Akpeyi, Wilfred Ndidi, Uche Agbo, Mikel Agu, Dele Ajiboye, Ahmed Musa Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, Aremu Afis and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Lol,its not really a wicked prayer grin . Echijele and Akpeyi are two players that most fans don't want to start against Zambia...

But on a serious note, how well can Aina adapt to the left back position?? I can't remember the last time he played in that role...
Not many full backs can play the right and left back roles well...

20 players train today as Victor Moses, Iwobi join Eagles
By admin - October 3, 2017, 7:25 pm23 0

Alex Iwobi
All 25 Super Eagles called up for Saturday’s crucial World Cup qualifier against the ambitious Chipolopolo of Zambia including Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi are now in camp even though only 20 of them trained this evening in Uyo.

Chelsea’s Victor Moses, Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina and Simon Moses were the last to join the squad Tuesday evening and so were not part of today’s training.

Gernot Rohr supervised Tuesday’s two-hour training, which involved 20 players.

The latest arrivals are now expected to join the rest of the squad in Wednesday morning gym work and then evening training at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

“The two Moses’, Victor and Simeon, are already in town. So also are Ola Aina and Alex Iwobi,” team spokesman Toyin Ibitoye told SCORENigeria

“They join others in training tomorrow morning.”

Zambia are expected on Thursday from Ghana, where they set up a training camp.

The Super Eagles won the first leg 2-1 in Zambia and will qualify for Russia 2018 World Cup finals with a win on Saturday in Uyo.

at worst , Onazi will play that role . Even Etebo . can function well in that position . but i dont see that happening . Rohr knows best . its time Rohr find a solid replacement for Echejile , old age has set in
