Dribbled due to Leicester opting to seat back and James being the Dmf. So most of the creative players go through him before James.

Perhaps, or maybe he needs to slow down.

okay cool! I'm sure Rohr has lectured his boys where they can exploit in the Zambians..

Mickael2:

I was asked to analyse the nigerian team not Zambia. I just pointed out what they can exploit, not that I am scared of them or anything

This is the international break. He has not played a competitive game in about a week. Ndidi is refreshed and ready to go.

I think the result they got against Algeria away got our people all twisted up. But they are forgetting that the current Algerian team is in disarray. Even the Enugu Rangers international can beat them at home.

O pari

Mujtahida:

Couple with the fact that Rohr was appointed barely more than a month before the match and the Super Eagles too touched down and went to play and still defeated Zambia. It was a feat. Today Nigerians are shiitting in their pants saying Zambia ooo, Zambia ooo despite our comparative qualitative advantage over the Zambians while Zambians with their Zesco players are brimming with confidence. It's ironic.

From my readings on the Zambian page I just concluded this is a nation of positive minded people. Thank God it's not fans but the players who will play the match. Moreover the worse that can happen is we lose(God forbid) but that doesn't mean we won't still qualify.

Don't mind them.

Meanwhile, my biggest joy is that Bein Sports plans to carry the match LIVE. I have already set a reminder on my DVR cool

EXCLUSIVE: Struggling Premier League club Everton to recall Onyekuru in January

By admin -
October 5, 2017, 3:25 pm

Struggling Premier League club Everton are set to recall Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru during the January transfer window from Belgian champions Anderlecht, SCORENigeria can exclusively report.

After finishing in the top 6 last season, which qualified them for the UEFA Europa League, Everton are going through a rough patch this season following the exit of top scorer Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.

They are now just two points above the drop zone in 16th place with seven points from as many matches amid speculations over the future of manager Ronald Koeman.

A source close to Onyekuru has now told SCORENigeria ‘The Toffees’ will recall the striker from his season-long loan at Anderlecht in January.

“Henry (Onyekuru) may not be at Anderlecht till the end of the season for the loan as Everton are seriously considering having him back in England in January,” the source revealed.

Onyekuru signed a five-year deal with the Premier League outfit, who shipped him out on a season-long loan to Anderlecht thereafter.

It was understood that there is a clause in the loan deal that allows Everton to recall him by the next transfer window.

He has thus far scored four goals for the Belgian champions.

I find it ironic and borderline comical that the Zambian coach, who barely a year ago talked down our team as "relying on kids' as against his experienced warlords, is nowbragging about how youthful his team is. Dude is now a believer in youth..

Iheanacho and Iwobi have succeeded in turning an "Icon4s' into a "thegoodjoe' grin

I see light, well MAINLY light but some darkness still and I will explain why.

I have seen some people saying we can sit back if the Zambians sit back forcing them to come out and play, home ground does not support that. If I pay 5k to sit in the VIP corner and you are playing 0-0(plus a boring game) after 60mins, I will join and start chanting 'all we are saying...' and if you have been in that situation before you will run mad, and go all out attack forgetting what the coach said, this is what happens to Madrid, once it's 60mins and they are yet to score, the boos start ringing and the players get disorganised and become easy picking. If Zambia can withstand our attack till the 60th minute mark we are in trouble.

Another point, the coach is going to show them some clips of that first leg. Trust me the Zambians had 3-4 very good chances that should be put away, if they have a proper team psychologist he will point out the fact that they have become more clinical since that match(I think they beat Algeria with only 2 shots on target), that is a nitro-level confidence booster. There mindset will be if we can create just that same number of chances like we did in the first leg, considering the fact that we are more clinical now and their gk is worse than ever, we may be able to put one away and hold out for the remainder of the game. If they score the first goal we have a big problem, I am not sure we have won a game that we conceded first under Rohr, he is not a tactical genius.

Also, they may watch our clips from their first match against us down to our last match and notice one thing, our midfielders(Mikel is included) all take atleast 20mins to settle into any game and that is a bad omen. If they can take advantage of that by attacking through the middle instead of the wings in the first twenty minutes then they are sure of two good chances, that is assuming Onazi remains Onazi and is caught out of position a lot of times in the first half and Ndidi remains Ndidi who would rather concentrate on attack rather than defence.

Finally they will watch that first leg again and discover that their lord and saviour(Echejile) who provided them with 3 good chances in the first leg is still our LB. Now Leon is a good CB, but he is different from Omeruo in the sense that he is always quick to rush out whenever a player beats his LB, now this is not really a bad thing but with proper tactics it becomes a bad thing. Create an overload and Leon is dinner, that is let the RW beat Echejile and while Leon comes out to mark the RB runs past Leon and receives a pass, that means Leon is out of the equation and assuming Onazi isn't back covering they have a safe passage to our 18.

Now they have to pray that all these things go according to plan and they must remain clinical. If after the first twenty minutes they haven't scored then they should pull back and choke every attack and wait patiently for that 60-70th minute mark. All in all this will not be a blowout, quote me anywhere. You do not destroy Zambia, it is impossible, highest two goals, you do not see them at the wrong end of a proper hiding
Michael2 wetin now,it seems your mind dey shake for this match, this your analysis w not allow person sleep, anyhow we are winning.

Opposition Watch

Coach of Chipolopolo of Zambia, Wedson Nyirenda is bullish that his team will revenge the 2-1 home loss to Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Ndola last year and go all the way to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia on the final day of the African qualifying Group B.. In this interview with Completesportsnigeria.com‘s RICHARD JIDEAKA in Abuja, Nyirenda explains reasons the Super Eagles Eagles won in Ndola, how the Chipolopolo have improved since then, and why he is upbeat that they will win in Uyo. Excerps…
CS: How ready is your team that will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday in Uyo?
NYIRENDA: We are very ready to inflict pains on Nigerians by beating your Super Eagles in Uyo and put ourselves in good position to qualify for the World Cup. If your team could beat us in our home, nothing stops us from doing so to you on Saturday in Uyo..
You sounds bullish in this your revenge mission. What gives you the courage that your team have what it takes to beat the Super Eagles in Uyo?
I am not bullish, but confident that my boys will play to form and get the three points at stake. We have a very improved squad different from the team that lost to Nigeria in the first meeting. We are ready to put our youth advantage to use and beat your Eagles

Are you going to sit back and absorb pressure from the Super Eagles and catch them on counter attack with your young, energetic and fast players?
I am not going to tell you how we would play because that will be disclosing my game plan. When we get to the pitch, we shall size up the Eagles and know how to play them. The Eagles are more experienced and exposed, but we shall play to our strength.
From the way you talk, you don’t seem to harbour any fear for the Super Eagles…
You just called your team Super Eagles. Ordinarily, the name should strike fear on countries in Africa, but we don’t fear any body. We respect the Super Eagles for the big players and what they are, but we don’t fear them. We have players who can match your team head to head and toe to toe. It will be 11 players on either side of the pitch .
What makes you believe that you can beat the Super Eagles side that defeated you on your home ground?
We weren’t expecting a defeat when the Super Eagles beat us in Ndola last year, but my thinking then was that we did enough to get at worst a draw. Again, I was barely 15 days on the job as head coach when we played that match. Since then, we have remained unbeaten and have improved very much. I inherited a team which I have been able to turn around to my taste and delight of Zambians

Nobody gave your team a chance against Algeria, but you beat them home and away. How did you manage to perform such ‘magic’?
It’s no magic, but the determination of the players and hunger to go the World Cup. We are focused and we play our game anywhere. To get a win in Constantine in Algeria was a big achievement for this young team, and this has given us the belief that we can beat any team, not excluding Nigeria. We know you beat Cameroon here, but we also know you lost to South Africa at same venue.
Your final word on the match on Saturday…
It is going to be a tough game, but I can only see us winning. The expectation from Nigerians will be high and that will put pressure on your team, and we will capitalize on that to win.
Do you feel any pressure to win and do you have any injury concern?
Pressure? Not really, but I could be tensed before the game. The pressure is on Nigeria. I have a couple of injury worries which we have taken care of.
See you on Saturday coach Nyirenda…
You didn’t wish me good luck, but we will see after our win

Aidy Boothroyd says Nigeria may swoop for England U21 talent
By PA Sport
Last Updated: 05/10/17 11:50pm

Tammy Abraham recently confirmed he remains committed to England after meeting Amaju Pinnick, the President of the Nigerian Football Federation

England U21 manager Aidy Boothroyd says Nigeria could still be trying to take his top talent.

The Young Lions manager remains on alert after reports Tammy Abraham was considering switching allegiance to the Super Eagles.

Swansea's on-loan Chelsea striker Abraham quickly denied the claims last month and reiterated his commitment to England, while Nigeria also made an approach for Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo last year.

Arsenal's Alex Iwobi elected to commit to Nigeria in March 2016 and - ahead of Friday's Euro 2019 qualifier against Scotland in Middlesbrough - Boothroyd conceded the country may try their luck again.

"They still might be trying - you don't know - but you can't blame them because they're good players," he said. "These are lads who have played for England who have an affinity with us and a relationship. When it happens with Sheyi I can pick the phone up, the same with Tammy.

Alex Iwobi began his international career as a youth with England, but later switched allegiance to Nigeria

"It's a hard one. I can't guarantee they are going to play because the group is so good. Tammy didn't start the game before last but that's just one of those things. Perhaps other countries will see that and get into him, promise him the
world and get him in the first team.

"It's an interesting one [with Abraham]. I saw like you all did on the TV. The good thing is we have a relationship and I can pick the phone up and say 'what's going on mate?'

"He laughs and says he doesn't know where it came from but it certainly didn't come from him. Twenty minutes later it comes across in yellow again: 'Tammy Abraham says he's going to play for England'."

England U21 face Scotland and Andorra next in their Euro 2019 qualifiers

Abraham could spearhead England against Scotland at the Riverside Stadium as they continue their Euro 2019 qualifying campaign, after drawing in the Netherlands and beating Latvia in their opening two games.

They play in Andorra on Tuesday in Group Four but Boothroyd is wary of Scotland, who are a point and a place behind his second-placed side.

Boothroyd added: "It's not a six-pointer but it's one of those you're desperate to win, and so are they. One, because it's Scotland, and two, because it's the group which won the [Under-20] World Cup [in June], they'll be wanting to get one over on them. It's a bit like 1966 when we won the World Cup."

Zambia young strikers worry Rohr, Moses warns Eagles

Published October 6, 2017
Gernot Rohr

Festus Abu and Etim Ekpimah

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr admits he is worried about the plethora of young players, particularly strikers, in the Zambia side scheduled to play the Super Eagles in a Group B Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier in Uyo on Saturday.

Chipolopolo manager Wedson Nyirenda boasts three young forwards in his 23-man squad for the encounter, which they must win to stand a realistic chance of making it to Russia.

The Eagles are in a commanding place to qualify for their sixth World Cup after amassing 10 points from four games to sit atop Group B. Chipolopolo are second in the table on seven points while African champions Cameroon are third on the log with three points. Algeria are last in the group on one point.

And Nyirenda, who is attempting to make history by becoming the first coach to steer the East African country to their first World Cup qualification, arrived in Uyo on Thursday with Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka (18), Spartak Moscow forward Fashion Sakala (20) and Orlando Pirates attacker Justin Shonga (20) ahead of Saturday’s clash.

Although they are unproven talents, Rohr believes the youngsters could spring a surprise against the Eagles, who need a win to land in Russia.

“Zambia has a team with young players, who are quick strikers,” the German coach, who promised that his team would win the clash, told reporters in Uyo on Thursday.

However, Rohr, who said he had analysed the opponents, said he would change his tactics when the need arises during the game.

The former Burkina Faso manager said, “The style of play in the game against Cameroon is a reference point for us.

“We are trying to adopt the same style to some degree for this game, but we know it will be much difficult against Chipolopolo.

“When we played in Zambia (Nigeria won 2-1), they watched us and know us too. So, we need to have creativity to change the way we play to be able to surprise them.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses has predicted a tough game against Zambia, saying he can’t guarantee that the Eagles would win the encounter.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner, who represented Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, says he expects a tough test from 2012 African champions Chipolopolo.

“I can’t guarantee if we are going to beat Zambia or not. To be honest football is sometimes very tricky, you win some, you lose some,” the Premier League winner was quoted by SCORENigeria as saying on Thursday.

“We have got quality players who can win us games. As I said before, we are working collectively as a team and as you can see right from the very first day we have shown strength and passion.

“We want to make the nation proud, which is very important.

WE WILL NOT MISTAKES AGAINST ZAMBIA – MIKEL

We will not mistakes against Zambia – Mikel

Posted By: BTEditoron: October 06, 2017

Super Eagles’ captain, Mikel John Obi, has declared that the players have no need to say too much before Saturday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Zambia’s Chipolopolo.

The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations champions visit the 2013 winners in a match of high importance at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, which should determine the swing of Africa’s Group B ticket to football’s biggest house party in Russia, next year.

“We know how important the match is; that is enough motivation to go all out and give our very best. There are several players in this team who have not played at the FIFA World Cup. They want to be there in Russia next year. “The talking will be done on the pitch. I have no doubt we have the quality to achieve victory, but we will not make the mistake of under–rating the Zambians.”

The former Chelsea FC of England enforcer said that a good run in the qualifying campaign has been down to focus, determination and massive support of all Nigerians, and believes the same indices are in place for Saturday. “We have played four matches in the campaign so far, but this one is the match.
