Stop claiming legal genius. The criminal code says the MAXIMUM penalty for armed robbery is death. It didn't say that the punishment for armed robbery must be death. Usually, the maximum penalty is given to either repeat offenders or those who have been proven to have committed murder in the process of robbery.
