AFONAMARO:I read verses 22 to 29. Very interesting. But they will not like what it says. They will look for another verse that will say they should give the whole of it to daddy else God will not bless them. |

Eze2000:You are too funny, If he will reject me in the church where I can reach him officially, I can choose to reach out to him anywhere else unofficially. The most important is for my msg to get to him. |

falmeetme5:"Whatsoever you do to the least of thy brother, that you do unto me"; if your spirit led you to give the tithe to the beggar, be rest assured that you have given it to God. God is not confined to a house of God, God is everywhere and can manifest in any being. |

It was not tithe that you paid bro. You merely gave your money to the poor. Malachi 3:10 specified where tithe should be paid to and what percentage to pay. Anything short of that is an act of disobedience. You'll receive the reward attached to giving and not to tithing. Obedience is better than to sacrifice. |

mdokaba1:You have done well, but you can do better. All tithes must be brought into the house of the Lord and not just any place or person. As a blessed son of God, you can still package something for the beggers and the needy. |

Ekennovative:Please read: Malachi 3:10New International Version (NIV) 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Stop confining God to a house or place like they do in old testament, God is everywhere, in everything and everyone. The church is in the hearts of men and women now, not necessarily a place. If so, he can give the tithe to anyone that he is led to give it to. God appreciates his gesture and God doesn't need your judgement or appreciation. |

BluntBoy:Tithing is convenantal, that Lord, I'm keeping my end of the bargain, it's a testament of God's goodness, it shows we stick to His plans and authority. It tells God i trust you, and i'm following the lead. It is done at each junction almost like a sacrifice to unlock the next thing, so yes Abraham tithed multiple times, and i don't wish to debate against anyone's beliefs my brother. Be to everyone according to their beliefs |

Only poor fellas give their tithes to the poor beggars. If the tithes was in hundreds of thousands or in millions would you be talking here that you gave it to a begger. |

Student125:Under certain certain circumstance it will not. I once walked out from two different powerful churches you know. Synagogue is one. I tell you it is hard for God to reject a person but if he does you can never reach him again even if you cry blood. Once, I saw God reject a woman crying for a male child. Get this ....she was rich, very rich but the prophecy she got the said a firm no and that she free to anywhere and try. I will never forget that day and it was over 20 years ago when I was a kid. |

TEYA:Trust me, no other verse asked them to give cash or their tithe to a pastor or man of God. Tithe is a straightforward instruction carved out to assist the Levites(who neither work, trade or engage in any form of money making venture). Not a pastor, man of God, G.O, apostle, minister etc who engages in money making ventures and have inheritances. Have you ever heard the word MONKS? They are the only people fit enough to be likened to the levites, as they live and die in the monastery, same as the levites who live and die in the temple |

Malachi 3: 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Tithe is for God, so that there'll be meat in his house ( the church). There is nothing wrong in giving, if you willingly give to the poor, God will exceedingly reward you. One-tenth of your income which is your tithe is to be paid in the house of God, you can give to the poor from the other 9/10 and the blessings that go with that will be your portion. It's good you gave to the needy but you paid your tithe the wrong way. |

Ekennovative:So he is wrong to help the poor and needy? That common act alone made the heaven jump in joy..My brother read deut 14:22-29. I will rather pay my tithe to beggers than enrich an already rich pastor that builds expensive schools and owns private jet |

TO THE POSTER!! I have carefully read all comments on this tread and it is amazing that many people still do not understand the principle of tithing as a christian. You gave your tithe to a begger and you think its right? My brother you are totally wrong and I advise you not read but study your bible very well. If only many christian will be sincere about their tithe; the blessing that comes from tithing will never elude them. Now Let's be factual: Tithe was first mentioned in the bible in the book of Genesis. Who was the first man that gave tithe? Abraham who did he gave his tithe to? Melchizedek .. Who is Melchizedek ? Melchizedek king of Peace .. Reference: Genesis 14:20 – In this bible verse, Melchizedek comes out to meet Abraham, as Abraham gives him a tithe of the spoils of his victory . Genesis 28:20-22 – After the vision of God’s renewed covenant, Jacob initiates a covenant with God vowing to give him a tithe of what he receives from the promised land. Bible never mentioned that Abraham give his tithe to a beggar. There is a designated place that God order Us to go give our tithe to; where is the place?.... Malachi 3:10 (Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.) Where is the storehouse of God? .. the Church ... And even the children of Israel did what’s right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chronicles 31:5-12 – The children of Israel do what’s right under the reign of Hezekiah, and bring the tithes to the designated places. Nehemiah 10:37-38 – Israel obeys God and brings the tithes to the storehouse. Giving/sowing and Tithing There is a difference between giving and tithing. When you give a beggar or poor money, you are simply sowing a seed. It is not called tithe or tithing. Tithe is taking to the church. You give your title to the church. So brother you sow a seed into a beggar's life, you did not pay tithe. Jesus said in Matthew 23:23 23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. Jesus has shown us that tithe and giving/sowing should be done together. You cannot do one and leave the other. No, if so, you're an hypocrites like the pharisees. However, Jesus Christ said himself" Matthew 5:17 “ Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Poster, Don't be deceived. GOD NEVER CHANGES;HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER. AND HIS STANDARD REMAINS THE SAME take your tithe to the storehouse(CHURCH) and also learn the act of sowing seed into the poor and needy life.. I hope this helps. Contributor SOTENDER |
