For most of us here, lowering electricity cost is just a bonus of going solar. I believe the independence to use or the freedom to use electricity at will (not just rationed by an inefficient provider) is inspiring us.

Congratulations on your harvest, i know on this forum ur feat is just 4-5 days harvest of some. What am congratulating u for is generating ur needs whether it's 4.5kw/day or 21.9kw/day both ways ur covering ur electricity consumption - ur independence, ur freedom from regimented life.

So Oga idsolar, like Barezzi mentioned earlier, buy urself a fine bottle of wine and well sauced chicken suya for celebration at least that would have been the money pocketed by disco.

I will join ur celebration from here!
I ll join d parry too... Let's go dere cheesy

Speaking about heating and solar power, I just read a lot about Husky heat pump. I think that Lagos doesn't have a central heating but it can be cold some nights. Solar energy is quite a good option but I would also use a heating pump. It can be used both for water and house heating. I suppose that RHI for heat pumpss would be a good option.

I'm interested in how you wired 4, 150w panel to 30Amp PWM controller...

600watts is overkill for the controller..
But good for the battery as it will always be 100% charged

Hello, Dam5reey sent u a simpler version which accurately reads battery voltage and you can always deduce SOC & DOD LBCO volt of your system ! I use same for years & it rarely dissapoints .. Cheers!!
I need 4 pieces of fairly used 200w or 250w mono solar panels for sale.

I wish i had the answer too brov
but I am a novice when it comes to these things
just small knowledge here and there!
The installer has seen this and will tell us how he did the magic ,,,, I remmber him saying the PV were connected in parallel
I will ask him for more specifics

thank you.......was thinking the 2v battery will last longer than the 12v.

thanks for the explanation
to my own experience 2v battery vs 12 v battery is like you give 12 person (2v battery) one person job (12 v battery) job to do= between one person vs 12 person who will get tire easily and early.that is why 2v battery is more expensive than 12 v battery.me I was using. Used 2v battery before it last me almost 5 years before thinking of changing them compare to 12 v if you are lucky 2 years

Not bad a product but the 96V rating is a discouragement to peeps like me. Happy sales all the same.

I agree. I may only one of the few who is praying for cost of NEPA to go up so more people see the light and invest in solar ( not as a replacement of generator but something which makes commercial sense)

I will rather pray for the price of renewable energy products to drop thus encouraging more people going green.

grin grin grin grin price drop? grin grin grin

How often...
Prices rarely drop. Check out top range inverters (almost N1m), cc(almost N.5m) and batteries (hmmmm).

My prayer will skewed to licensed local manufacturing of solar accessories and gadgets in the country, hopefully things will become affordable to all across West Africa.

Alright, it's good your PV was over sized, you will have the advantage to use and charge during the day, but your you will only get 30Amp plus from a potential 40Amps + PV...
Hope the battery can take 30A,
if cash was not the issue, 200AH 40A cc would best match

Well I am just starting out, so i expect a lot of hiccups here and there, I had wanted to get an extra 100ah battery but I am waiting for just a while to get the hang of it.

Need not to worry, the CC will handle amps going into the battery. My fear is ur consumption/backup time. angry angry

Its pretty fair , yesterday night i was running on
110w load ( led tv, dstv explora, 5 led bulbs, fan and laptop charger) constantly from 7,30pm till 10,30pm
before nepa restored power. I checked and battery voltage was at around 12.6
I could have easily done another 3 hours or 2 hours to take it to 12.1
Well nepa struck after like 1 hour: i switch off and went to bed
Its just 10 am now and battery is at 13.7 volts already
