Thus is one of the best threads I have seen on nairaland. Never new people are this intelligent. I thought I knew a thing or more in philosophy after obtaining a degree in it but these folks just reduced my conceived knowledge to NOTHINGNESS

Yes, there must be an external cause, and that external cause should also have an external cause which should also have an external cause which should have an external cause....

With such logic, we will end up plunging into an infinite loop. And it will only be irrational, dubious and insincere for any adherent of such logic to truncate the loop wherever pleases him to be the end and final solution
No, it will only lead to the conclusion that there was an uncreated cause or the uncaused cause.

I am a contingent (subject to chance)and likewise you... I could easily have failed to exist, in fact ,at one time, I did not exist, and in the future , I will cease existing, that proves I am not necessary...

If so there must have been a cause of my existence , may be my parents who brought me into existence right....

Likewise the physical universe we are is also contingent.... Therefore for the physical world to also be contingent, it need an external cause just like I do..

So who is the external cause.....

Note...this work is dedicated to ancient philosopher called Avicenna... This is a paraphrase copy... I add my own thought.....
You have always existed and will continue to exist albeit in one form or the other. The universe in my opinion is cyclical, constantly turning inside out, through a series of bangs and crunches. The external first cause would be the active universal mind that through a desire to know itself births the universe. Nothingness from a logical perspective cannot exist because nothing can come from nothing. additionally nothing and something cannot exist sharing space. however the mere fact that we can perceive and contemplate its presence or (absence) indicates a possibility that such a state of being is possible.

bro...am focused...... I just maintain your postulation for the sake of argument... I could have easily tell you , it isn't possible

I did it to welcome reflectivity in the argument.... I realised you are pointing to a discussion that require more details... Which I did... So I will rather accuse you of derailing... But no problem if it will make you better..

You are in a physical universe and you Wanner know is origin.. Which means you Wanner know is beginning... And you think your first questions will be how ?

Let's try your logic here Akintom ..

How does the world came into existence

Or who created the universe to be so...

Your first best question will be who created the world....why ? if you know the being , it may save you from how...knowing the being will also reflect his attribute...

From there you can gather an assumptions... You can then raise the second question which is how those the being created the universe....
Wow ! I clearly see wisdom in your careful rebuttal of Akindom's contradictory fallacies.

Vaxx, for now I highlight only one of your many deeply profound statements;

Your wise advice to Akindom will make any Atheists burden lighter. You said, "Your first best question will be, who created the world....why ? if you know the being , it may save you from how ...knowing the being will also reflect his attribute..."

Yes I also agree with "it may save you from how" because Atheists don't realize that they have been cruelly indoctrinated by their
ambitious masters into a system of thinking that results in a DEAD-END.

Carefully observe why all the Atheists arguments have not produced a single benefit to suffering mankind ? Time has great intrinsic
value. Atheism is the greatest time waster.

Muslims and Christians must never ever commit the sin of bowing to Atheists demands to "PROVE" the existence of God. God has already proven it to them. Let them prove to themselves that God don't exist !!!!
