Gurus in the house, please assist with your opinion/suggestion. I applied for study permit sometime in April 2017 for fall 2017 intake and was rejected for purpose of visit, after which i ordered for GCMS note on the ground that my B.sc degree in Economics with my 5 years of working experience in a financial institution is not in progression with the proposed course of study ( Health Course) which i applied for in my previous application. It was very clear to me that i sincerely messed up my application by applying for a course that is not in progression with my B.sc degree and work experience. Please, your opinion is needed here as I intend re-applying to another school that offered PGC in Professional Financial service (Fanshawe college) fall 2018 intake, one year program to correct the errors made in my first application.Due to the previous school record which i applied to in my first application with the embassy , am considering re-applying to Fanshawe College for Fall 2018.could it be seen as a red flag by the time i submit new application from another school or i should still maintain previous school but on a new course in progression with my Education and work experience?

I have to disagree with you there, he did that to himself and should not blame the agent.

It was not done without his knowledge and he is the beneficiary.

You will not understand because you are not in his shoes. Some agents are devil from the pit of hell. The length they go to perpetrate evil knows no bound and they conceal it from their client

thanks...but my assistance in passing the exam is based on experience nothing else....of coz every wise man will have to study very hard to defend himself, if the exam has 30 questions...the material has 800 question....so 30 questions picked at random from the material....thatz y itz called dumps....if youve writen an IT exam you should know the setting....for example microsoft has a site were there prep questions can be downloaded..n same questions are set..supposed questions in exam is very normal itz called dumps also known as past questions..i cant be sure of the exam questions that will come out..na me they set the exam...i just adviced they shud write the exam sharp so the dumps questions wont change...this is same format i was helped by an unknown public person

Hello,

Thank you for the willingness to assist others. However, note that this is a public forum and you should be mindful of what you write/say. I'm not saying that it is not possible for the "supposed questions" to be the real exam questions but I doubt it. It is better to tell them to practice the questions and not put it in a way that you are very sure of the exam questions that will come out. GRE is a standardized test and not the kind of exam that one will do "La Cram La Pour" for.

The point I'm trying to make is that let the people know that the questions are just to aid them in their preparations.

I wish you the best! smiley

The question is perfectly understandable. If you go to the USA on a USA student visa, yes you will need a Canadian student visa to go to Canada to school. Yes, you can apply in the USA for a Canadian student visa. You would not be required to come back to Nigeria to apply as they do if someone had a visitor's visa and only visiting the USA. It's a heck a lot easier than applying in Nigeria I can tell you. But be prepared to meet all requirements. You should sail through easy if you can adequately document that your state of union (financial standing) is strong to cater for your education in Canada. They don't subject you like they do when applying from Nigeria, to the excruciating pain of wanting you to prepay for your education and document till heaven's door, reasons why you think you will come back to Nigeria. Good luck and let me know if you have further question(s).

Thank you very much for clarity. The further question is;
Between USA and Canada, which will you advice for Graduate Studies and why?
Thanks.

I understand your point. I wrote both the GMAT and GRE exams early this year so I know the exam format for both. Your earlier post where you said "it is the real questions you should meet in the exam" sounds as if it is exactly the same question that will come out on test day.

I'm only trying to tell you to let the people know that the questions are just to aid them in their preparations. You know some people can do "La Cram La Pour", so that they will not go and "see gobe" on test day. grin wink

The answer to your question depends solely on you. Both countries are great for international students. What is your plan after your studies? If it is to immigrate, then Canada should be the best bet.

In terms of getting admission, there are many "Top-ranked" schools in the US, it is somehow easier to get admission but getting funding depends on some other factors. The schools in Canada are few compared to the US, therefore many applicants compete to gain admission to these "few schools". But in the United States, there are so many Top-ranked schools, Middle-ranked schools and Low-ranked schools.

In terms of getting study visa, as a Nigerian, it is much easier to get US study visa than Canada study visa.

Therefore, it depends on you and your plans after your studies.

Jnyuwa02 will add to what I've said.

Some of America's top universities are highly recognized and respected all over the world. Just carrying their names will open doors for you anywhere. Imagine a Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, university of Pennsylvania graduate in Nigeria. You will be highly celebrated. The opposite is true for Canada. Most Canadian universities, if not all of them, none can boast of such recognition. Most are unknown.

Some of the best professors in the world and cutting edge research, are in the USA. Not so much Canada.

If you are not into labels and prestige, Canada will serve you better. It's more relaxing and laid back and people generally more nicer and hospitable. This is the perfect pace for an international student who is first time in a western country, looking to learn the culture and assimilate into a new environment. Because everything in Nigeria is so slow, Canada offers a more manageable pace than the USA's pace that can be almost described as hyperventillating. Choosing the right pace can be a critical ingredient to success when choosing where to go. The USA's pace can leave one disoriented and out of place. You probably heard the cultural stereotype that Americans are always in a hurry. It is true!

Also, Canada is cheaper to go to school. So if your finances are somewhat curtailed, Canada offers affordability when compared to the USA where expenses at a major university or college, can run easily in the range of 60k US dollars yearly.

So many schools in the USA to choose from. Over 3500. So many scholarship program to qualify for if you know the right places to look. Canada's universities are so few. Less than 100. That doesn't translate to been more competitive to get into though. Getting to some of the Ivy League universities in the USA is almost tantamount to the biblical phrase of trying to get into "the eye of a needle." All things equal on an average, I will say the competition for getting good spot in a college between Canada and USA is the same. Both are competitive.

Canada is freezing cold in the winter almost at any spot on its map. Some parts of the USA like Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and California, have weather like Nigeria. So if you don't do cold, Canada is not good.

Staying in the USA after graduation is very difficult. Except you show to the government that you are a person of extraordinary talent or a company that cannot find an American employee, sponsors you to work for them. The USA does not give a rat ass your degrees, they kick you out of the country when you are done studying. Canada on the other hand, has provincial programs meant to attract and keep graduates of its universities.

Finally on a lighter tone, USA has hotter babes than Canada. If you are into black women or men, USA has a lot of African Americans. Finding your kind in Canada is very few and far between.

Well said! In addition to the bolded, Canadian schools offer fully funded scholarships to graduate students. To get full funding as a master's degree student in the United States is a herculean task. Most of the funding packages in the United States are in form of graduate assistantships or research assistantships.

@jnyuwa02 submission on the contrary, did not in any way implied babes are scanty in Canada, rather was from a comparative view with USA. A simple comparison of US & Canada population makes it easier to reach such conclusion.

I’ll advise you go for another BSc u still have age on your side, that’s a very low CGPA, no western world university will give you a post graduate admission, not to mention of a masters. Sorry for being blunt, I’m just being straight forward and it is for your own good.
