she and her MIL should go to the clinic to run fertility tests if she's sure of herself.

She might have caused damage to her womb with abortions or untreated infections.

Greenbullet:
Good day Nairalanders, it is with a sad heart I write this piece , the mother in law of my cousin is tormenting her, and it is affecting her both emotionally and physically.

My cousin has been married for one year and three months , she is yet to conceive and is medically healthy, but her mother in law is making her life miserable, for the last five month's her mother in law has been calling her in the midnight to shout at her to give her a grand child, she cannot report to her husband because it will cause a quarrel that might separate the son and mother and she will be called a witch and all blames will be pushed on her, my cousin refuse to eat anything and hardly speaks to anyone, her mother in law also constantly visits her to insult her , she tells my cousin that there is no barren woman in their family and she knows that she has aborted her womb and her time in the house will soon be up.

Please nairalanders what advice can I give to my cousin, because this lady is in pains .

My mom was abused and insulted by her own mother in law but she never bothered herself, today we are four boys and four girls.tell your cousin not to mind her

She's keeping it to herself without sharing it with her husband, jst because she doesnt want to cause a clash btw mother and child, at the detriment of her own being? That's nonsense.
Besides the marriage is still fresh, why the rush.
Wld advice she shld confide with the hubby.

Her reason for not telling her husband is not only stupid but crazy..... she will die for nothing if she handles it herself by just crying and not eating. The husband is enjoying himself without the full knowledge.... Let her wake up.

The only solution is to tell the husband and then let the husband pick the call himself and listen to the mum talk. I thank God for my mum.

The best thing to do is to keep her coọl and over look the old woman, cus being sad/worried can never help her, rather it will worsen her situation
Would you suggest the 'overlook' if she were your close female relative Just a question oooo embarassed

True story Evaberry, your rational comments on nairaland are classical. Class is something we earn, not paid for like school....

I can image how a nigga like me would keep hitting a spot(live hole) like yours while continuously listening to sweet and unique words of mouth out of you. The blood flow to my phallus go be something else..

Just 1year, the woman is complaining and calling her barren, That why I don't like mother-in-laws, I prefer father in laws, I hate someone telling me how to live my life. I feel so uncomfortable with these elderly women, they are literally a pain in the ass.

My future mother-in law should not try this shiit with me, I go show am say khaki no be leather.

Do these things till happen in this modern age? WTF , some MIL's can be devils in human form, a marriage of just one year three months

My wife and I would stay three years without giving birth, I must enjoy her to the full before I start sharing equipments with any new born grin

Brotherly! cheesy

As much as i admire your periscope, i must say those are nothing but words of a juvenile. Why? because then, there Wud be alot of variables.... Chief among them been your wify! No woman Wud agree to stay 3gud yrs without seducing u and traping your sperm. Do you want ppl to brand her barren?
Even if she agrees during courtship, then she goes out and sees other ladies she wedded b4 strolling with their babies,
She Wud get you so high and rock u so hard you wudnt know when u Hala the kids! grin

Women being their own worst enemies since 1000 BC grin

OP, it's too soon for your cousin to be worrying about fertility. Anyone worrying her at this time has some serious issues. Let her relax. Worrying and being under undue pressure can affect fertility too. If she is so unhappy, her husband would know as well. She should leave mama alone o. In the end, everyone gets what's coming for them.

Yea sure, not every guy fancy that too.

The unfortunate thing is : husby and wify ain't no island any more. This ain't no relationship. The marriage though made up of two immediate ppl, have alot of remote folks underground.

And alot of Nigerian family see baby as a thing of wholesome joy. The finishing touch to the union.
At the wedding, alot of hearts would be up in the air with so many questions n worries only d cry of a new born can wipe away.

And then, there is the lil ish of your friends asking questions. Arrrrhhhh. How long are you gono keep answering and telling em same thing for 3gud yrs? Some Wud naturally start making up seemingly true stories.

See?

A year 5months for good browsing n quality fellowshipping and travelling half of the world. Then get down to brass track. Groom them. Ship them off and complete the other half of the world you left out earlier wink cheesy

Perfect plan ain't it?

All these carryover oldies mentality by these grandmas sef..

But honestly, i dont think i would be planning to make babies with my wife just barely only a year after getting married.. What time would we have to rediscover and re-bond emotionally, spiritually and physically with ourselves in the early stages of marriage which should in my own opinion make us better prepared to face the hassles and challenge of raising children which though a blessing, brings a lot of mixed changes in the original dynamics and setting of most marriages..

For me, a 2 - 3 year recess after marriage before the thought of making babies with my wife is a principle i intend to uphold when my time comes ooo... except maybe for other unforseen circumstances which i pray wouldnt be the case for me..

All these marry today, born tomorrow mentality has never been my thing..
