When is he going to sign a bill that will jail Babachair, Baru and others of presidency friends who take Nigerians for a ride.
when is he going to sign a bill that will prevent ex-govs from making Senate chamber their retirement place.
When is he going to sign a Bill that will make the central less attractive to lazy politicians.
When is he going to sign a Bill that will stop wardrobe allowance, and other allowance that drain the government purse.
Bills are made by our law makers, he only attest to it so u can approach ur senator or house of representatives member to raise motion concerning the above .

Hmm. A school that has existed for over a decade. Na wa o. So, what would it have taken to give this school legal backing since then.

No wonder no much progress has been made there. No international academic institution will want to have anything to do with an institution that is not backed by law.

Anyway, at all, at all na winsh

Which school exist for decades?

I don't understand... Is it the university that is already existing (FUPRE) or they want to establish new one. Can someone enlighten me.

Existing? When did they sell their form and what courses did they offer?

Education into what sector? Created jobs for people to lead others into joblessness. Why are we not considering alternative source of energy we should have a university for renewable energy.

they wanted to merge it with PTI and upgrade it award B. Tech. This was at the tail end of obj tenure and so it didn't fly . Ask yourself what gej did... Nothing! The bridge linking delta state and bayelsa and the road adjoining it didn't achieve anything during his time either, a road and project that started during obj tenure.

I dont see the rationale behind this. FUPRE is an existing university of petroleum resources, merging PTI to FUPRE smells like a rat to me. it actually means closing PTI not establishing a new university. Except u mean to say, by law, FUPRE hadnt been recognised, which i would strongly doubt since it has NUC accreditation.

you convert 22 colleges of education to military , police and law universities.. and handing over of all federal universities in state where there is no federal colleges of education to convert to military, police and law universities in state were there is no federal universities.

This way government start to build universities from the start again.. creating jobs in construction and education.
this way, the military, police and law can produce the staff of government in future and the secret of government will not be all over the internet.

This way in future all public schools and public hospital in all 36 states are not affected by politics or politician and they can not go on strike.. and the military can inspect the facilities to see if it ok or working..

this way, it is like military change of guard in all the schools.. and hospitals.. this way they send 80,000 military officers to all public schools and hospital and they just write them cheque monthly to fix the schools..

it had 80,000 location to where the military is and they can collect information about civilian from this location and protecting the children in public school. you are protecting 60% of the population .

one of the schools get N9billion and still complain, that N9billion was small.
The force is strong in this one...

Pls pls pls stop this! If you're not sure of something then keep your views to yourself. I got into FUPRE in 2010 and graduated 2015. I know how much the previous govt invested in FUPRE and the amount of progress the school made both Infrastructurally and numerical (staff strength) over those 5 years Jonathan was in power. I also know how much progress has stalled since this govt took over so just stop and keep your views to yourself. And if you travelled east west road from warri to PH b/w 2009 and 2015 you'll appreciate the progress on that road. That journey used to take 4-5 hours in 2009, now it takes 2:45 mins to 3hrs so pls don't say GEJ did nothing. We never even talk of Lagos Benin road

Ufuoma, I got admitted to FUPRE 2009; during former VC Alabi's time and I can tell you that most of those projects you talk of cannot be credited to GEJ but Yar Adua; OBJ approved budget for the school and made provision for its implementation but the funds were released in batches until finally Yar Adua approved the full release; which made the spontaneous start of the project. Delta State government promised us road from the community into the school; I was personally there when Gbagi made the statement as the then state commissioner for education but they didn't commit to their promises.
GEJ never stepped into the school all through his tenure, nor did anything to encourage the positioning of the school but in his own way didn't stand against the free development of the school; however, when the issue of accreditation and signing the school existence bill into law, he was non-committal or you have forgotten the student strikes of 2012 and 2013, so crediting him for the progress so far is wrong; don't bring politics into the positioning and standings of the school as the school is far from being where it should be based on what the first VC Alabi made us believe as at time of admission.

lol.

The pace of work at FUPRE permanent site in 2010 didn't look at all like "the full funds were released by Yar Adua". Only four buildings stood there when we moved to the permanent site in 2011. There were no internal roads( those one can later in 2012 or so), the college of engineering now has a college building and four modern Labs that we're all built within 2013-2015. The SUG building, additional hostels and the PPP project before the gate are all projects that began and were completed by the last administration. A lot of lecturers in college of engineering benefited from PHD scholarships abroad, and many others. Now I hear FUPRE is so under funded salaries were cut and they can't even afford to keep their best students in system any longer

Our representatives are guilty for FUPRE not being signed into law much earlier. If I remember well this bill was passed in the Senate just a year ago so we should ask questions of our reps in the last administration, not the executive.

And if Jonathan was really indifferent to the attempt to move the school to the north, things would have been a lot different. The fact he neither visited nor addressed the issue openly means didn't imply he did nothing.

Do you know what a decade is? If Fupre was established in 2007, how old is it now?
