As the race for the office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, hots up, former President Goodluck Jonathan   again lashed out at the All Progressives Congress,  ‎APC led administration for running a government of lies and propaganda.

Speaking in Abuja yesterday while receiving in audience with one of the contenders to the Office of the National Chairman of the Party, Professor Tunde Adeniran and his campaign team, Jonathan declared that he made to say that the PDP did well from May 29, 1999, till May 29, 2015, when it handed over power to the APC, saying since then till date the APC Administration has done nothing for the nation.

He stated that since then the APC Administration has nothing to show as an achievement ‎ but rather It has been ruling through lies and deployment of hi-tech propaganda to cover up its misrules.

‎Jonathan who cited instances to back up his claim challenged the administration to a public over his submission

According to him, “PDP administration for 16 did well and will continue to do well but this administration has done nothing, the administration is full lies and propaganda.

“In the power sector we did well to revive it, a state governor cruised our government, saying that any serious government should be able to fix the power within six months, today APC has been power for how many years? Fortunately, the then governor is in the APC Government as a Minister.”

Jonathan, however, said that all hope was not lost as the PDP would go all out and put its house in order for it to return to power come 2019 since Nigerians have been able to see things for them on the differences between that APC and the PDP.

“With the rate at which people are coming around to associate with a Party that lost elections, it shows that the people still believe in the PDP, with the numbers and calibers  of the People coming out to vie for the seat of the National Chairman and offices of our Party, it shows that our Party still have another chance.”

He declared that for the Party to get it right and regained its lost glory, it would need a competent, reliable and courageous  National Chairman ‎who would then lead the Party to victory come 2019.

According to Jonathan, “the contest for the office of the National Chairman is very interesting, this is healthy competition, many of the aspirants have been coming here, this will allow the delegates to choose the best among then at the Convention.

“However, for the Party to make a headway, we need a National Chairman that will select credible and reliable candidates for various elective offices at the various level of governments from the Presidency to the Councilorship.

“We need a National Chairman who will be courageous enough to call the President to order if he wins the Presidency and the President is going astray, he must not be someone when the Party takes a position on ‎issues, he will change.

“We need a National Chairman who will rule the Party democratically and carry others along, in fact ‎, the National Chairman is the leader of the Party, it is not the way around.”

Jonathan disclosed that with his long interaction with Professor Adeniran and testimonies of other Party leaders, he possessed all it needed to lead the Party at this critical point of time and wished success in the race.

He, however, advised the Party members and the aspirants not to allow the Convention to cause another crisis in the Party, saying that the contest should be seen as a family affair.

In his remarks, Professor Adeniran Stated that initially he was not interested in the race but the need to rebuild and reposition of the Party ahead of the 2019 General elections prompted him to join the race.

Prof Adeniran Said that he would in the race to make that to regain it’s lost glory and give Nigerians the real dividends of democracy that have eluded then since the PDP lost power in 2015.

Speaking earlier, a member of the BOT of the Party, Prof Jerry Gana and the Director General of Tunde Adeniran Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gaban extolled the virtues ‎of Adeniran whom they described as the best man for the job based on his records of service both in the Party and public service.

Don't mind the stupid man, how can you compare less than 3 years to 16 years.. This GEJ will ever remain clueless. How can he say the PDP for 16 years redeemed the power sector with how many Megawatts despite the huge amount spent on power within that period starting from the $12b by OBJ. It's a pity that some fools still come out here to applaud him. Whether PDP likes it or not, come 2019, they can never never win the election. When you accused APC for lies and propaganda I was expecting you to have listed them one after the other. This campaign approach of calling names will never take your failed party to anywhere, if you want to know ask your party men in Edo state.

Tell that to d gullibles.APC gov in less than 3 years has done more than PDP did in her 16 years rule.Just to mention a few.(1) TSA implementation than PDP had no gut to implement in 16 years was implemented in less than a year.(2) Military corruption investigation and prosecution than PDP had no gut in challenging was effected.(3)Bokoharam insurgency almost taking over 8 States in d north with a potential to spread to d south has been decimated and reduced to sambisa forest.(4) Nigeria Railway came back to life in less than 1 year of APC gov after PDP knocked it to comatose in 16 years bcs of corruption(5) International image boost:compare who was Jonathan and PDP and who is Buhari and APC at d international scene presently.For ineffectual buffoon to say APC has done NOTHING even in d face of these glaring evidences tells me why he failed and was been clueless.
