Madrid play for Ronaldo, Messi play for Barcelona. This award is due to dynamics of Madrid as a team not the ability of Ronaldo as the greatest! Messi is better than CR7 and he is not obsessed with individual honors as his rival who rely on goals to arouse football audience! Zizou Madrid!

This is pure rubbish! The selection process is seriously flawed. In a sane world, Ronaldo cannot beat Messi.
Messi remains the greatest ever. Forget awards.

The Best is a prize awarded to the Portuguese, not because he is really the best (that title everybody who is a neutral knows corresponds to Messi) but because he was part of a very talented team winning La Liga, champions league, etc... well, he scored a few goals, some of them penalties, tap-ins and a few offside goals... but at the end of the day is a prize given not really to the Best but to the most popular guy in the best team of the year. And this is precisely why these days some trophies should change their title

In all fairness, the Baroka FC goalkeeper should have won the award for scoring a spectacular goal from a unusual position for a goalkeeper.

For second consecutive times in 2017, the football calendar year has also favored world soccer star, Christian Ronaldo, with another FIFA best men player been awarded to him, the recognition that had him as the football governing body’s world player of The Year before being re-branded as the Ballon d’Or between 2010-2015.

However, the FIFA first Best Men’s Player was awarded in January 2017 with Ronaldo winning.
