KevinDein: Few people are talking about any ills. The consensus is simple. If you choose to remain in the stone age and wallow in your moral superiority to the South, then please, do not be hypocritical enough to profit from the immorality of other Nigerians. Alcohol sales provides a significant proportion of Nigeria's VAT and the cavemen who choose to saddle the rest of their society with their hypocrisy should not get to benefit a kobo from the VAT contributions of alcohol. That simple enough for ya? 4 Likes |

The funny thing is that these hypocrite muslims pour beer in there kettles and drink and claim its water for there prayers. The ladies wear hijab and wear no inner wear under there long gowns for easy access for there male counterparts. I have experienced it first hand while living in the north. When I look at them all I can say is YEYE dey SMELL! 2 Likes |

pretenders. . .every where. .I don't know why everything in nigeria is being turn into politics. .so beer consumption is now bad and say politics. .was sharia law not there before obasanjo came into power in 1999? sharia law has been secretly included in the 1999 constitution yet no one talked about implementing anything. .they tried using it to destabilize obasanjo gov't but saw that baba was tough n did not even send them, now they have come again. .how much does that poor jigawa generates n adds to the federation account, yet takes Hughes allocations from the federal government. .are you telling me thay don't produce n drink beer in Iran, Egypt, Indonesia or even Saudi Arabia? just allow the production or consumption, but impose huge tax or fine, that way you generate revenue for the state. .I thought they say state religion is not allow n dat naija is a secular state. ..what happen to the rights of other non Muslims whose rights to drink beers may have been hampered by these actions? another drama is about to unfold. . 1 Like |

Shafiiimran99: That is internet chest-beating nonsense. The reality is your greedy, grasping politicians always looking to scrounge for what they don't merit will keep profiting from the VAT. I still fail to understand how you can subscribe to religious repression in people's private affairs. I'm not a secessionist at heart, but the South really needs to split from you people if it's ever to see progress. Then all your people can wear burkas around and ban all the alcohol you want. The worst part you zombies can't see is your elite indulge in all the debauchery they ban the common folk from partaking in. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Ballmer: Jigawa is not solely a Muslim state. There are non-muslim indigenes and residents, why make a blanket law that is discriminatory. If a Muslim chooses to not drink alcohol then he should not go to where it is sold or even if he goes he can decide to take Coke. Nobody will force him/her to drink in his/her house. This law is absolute nonsense, you and I know this. |

Ballmer: No offence but it's clear you failed Government, or you would not speak so ignorantly about the inalienable rights entrenched in a democratic FEDERATING process. By your logic there should not be a single mosque in the America, Britain or the Vatican. By your logic Muslim students would not be offered halal meals in school in America and Britain. By your logic the hijab or the niqab would not be allowed in America or Britain. After all the majority there is of the people of the book. Islam states, "to you your religion and to me mine". Jigawa has no business imposing a religious law on all the residents of that state. Any Muslim who contravenes that laws, it's is between and the creator on yawm Al Qiyama. Nigeria is a SECULAR country, and all public laws must abide by that or be done away with. 3 Likes 1 Share |
